Entering the Entrance Exam!!

POV: Jaden Yuki

I can feel my heart pounding in my chest as I race through the crowds of people hanging out nearby. Internally I am kicking myself for sleeping in. After all, I can't be king of the games if I am late for the games!

Ten minutes and one chance encounter later, I finally can see the exam location in sight. Seeing as they have just let in someone and are about to close the doors. I quickly call out to them just nearly making it in time.

"Hey! Hey! hold on, Jaden Yuki is present and accounted for and ready to get his game on!"

My heart sinks as I see the unforgiving face on the bouncers as they speak.

"Sorry kiddo, we just finished marking the last of the attendees for this round of applicants. There's simply nothing I can do."

Just as I begin to feel like all hope is lost. I heard the sound of casual foot falls behind me before a slightly annoyed female voice echoed out behind me.

"I sincerely hope not, because that would mean you could not let me in the exam?"

Both me and the bouncers turned our attention to a young girl with straight brown hair cut into a bob cut wearing a sleeveless black tank top and ripped jeans made to look like shorts. An Egyptian eye was embossed on a gold belt buckle. Hanging off the left hip of her belt was a similarly themed deck box as the belt buckle. A playful smirk crossed her lips as her hazel eyes glanced at me before she continued.

"That would be quite a shame. Considering I was really looking forward to my duel today. By the way my name is Miko Kami. Here is my letter of acceptance."

Her playful smirk widened as she handed an opened envelope with the duel Academy logo stamped on the front. As the bouncers read over the letter their faces began to grimace in worry before they quickly got on a call with what I assumed was their bosses. I could briefly hear some panicked shouting on the other line after the bouncers explained the situation.

After a few moments they turned back to us wearing a slightly panicked expression that quickly turned into a strained polite smile as they spoke.

"We are so very sorry Miss Kami it seems I was mistaken and there's still five minutes before we need to close the doors today. You and Mister Yuki are just in time for the exam. If you would follow me please."

As the bouncers turned around to lead us into the exam venue. I gave a curious glance at the girl walking beside me with a smug smile on her face. Despite my curiosity on this mysterious girl named Miko Kami. I was just glad I am still able to take the practical exam.

POV: MC

I let out a internal sigh of relief as the bouncers turned around and began walking me and Jaden into the exam hall. Despite my confident attitude I really had no idea if that little stunt I pulled on the bouncers would work. Thankfully whoever the ROB who sent me here got me as a sponsor must have some serious pull in the world of Yu-Gi-Oh.

It took only a few minutes for the two of us to meet who I can only assume to be Doctor Crowler. The man was as skinny as a pencil and had big puffy lips on a sharp angular face. His blonde hair looks like it was smothered in hair spray as it seems to shine ever so slightly.

It took me everything I had to not burst out laughing at the man. However, I completely lost my composure when Jaden spoke up.

"Hey there lady, my name's Jaden Yuki and I am ready to get my game on!"

Seeing the expression of complete and utter rage and embarrassment on Crowler's face I cracked up in a fit of stifled laughter. Before I managed to get myself under control I saw Jadens' confused expression and I was nearly unable to stop myself from full on rolling on the floor laughing. Managing to fully compose myself I explained Jaden's social blunder.

"Jaden, this is Doctor Crowler, one of the heads of the three houses at Duel Academy. A man of great prestige and expert duelist."

I made sure to put an emphasis on the word Man as I spoke. However, it seems that Jaden only heard the words expert duelist and tuned everything else out as he turned to Doctor Crowler with a beaming smile full of excitement before speaking.

"That means you are going to duel me right lady?"

Moments later I was sitting in the stands shaking my head in exasperation as I watched Jaden duel Doctor Crowler below.
