In Hermiston, Oregon, a stunning landscape of bankers that once stored chemical weapons was seen to be stretching a good five by five miles.
The site was used as a storage for WWII and Cold War-era conventional ammunition of all types, as well chemical weapons such as containing GB and VX nerve agents and HD blister agents.
The site by just its vast size could rival any bunkers known, but due to its isolation and freedom from development, the site has become home to rare species of birds like the burrowing owl as well as rare plant life and herds of antelopes.
On a certain part inside the site, a government facility of some sort of prison was heavily guarded. Inside two different interrogation rooms, two people a man and a woman were being asked questions concerning their daughter.
By a look at them, one could just notice them from a glance as they were from the one and only Adams Family that was climbing up the ladder in several sectors from their daughter's accomplishments.
The interrogation has been going on for almost two and a half hours but yet, what they got from the parents was just what they already knew.
They were anxious as they needed concrete answers to locating Maxwell but so far nothing of importance came out. Their superiors were pressuring them and as they had no other way to get the information out of them, they resorted to harmful means to achieve their goals.
In a wide state road, a dirty-looking sports car was seen to be at an extraordinarily speed as it disregarded everything including the speed cameras.
Inside the car, Rue had a look of disbelief and panic as she knew that if anything happens to Aya right at this moment, being a cripple was the only merciful thing that could happen to her other than death.
As they were still following the trail that was left a few hours ago, Aya was informing Rue of the squad that kidnapped her family.
"So you mean it's them, the ones that killed Maxwell?!" Rue asked for confirmation as she couldn't grasp the information that Aya fed her.
"Yes and no at the same time... I mean... The one that led the team to take your parents, I am a hundred percent sure that he was among the soldiers that they went to Rescue." Aya explained in detail so that her friend could understand more easily.
"But... shouldn't he be at a certain mission with his group. As they must have been important to risk the lives of Max and his partner to rescue them?! What is he doing in L.A kidnapping my parents?" Rue asked again as she contemplated on what she was hearing.
"They were promoted when several high-ranking members of the government recommended their names to the President. And he chooses to run his team of undercover agents." Rue explained again in great detail.
"They?.. How many were they?" Rue asked as she probably was narrowing on something peculiar.
"Mmmh! They were three, with a woman as the third." Aya answered.
"And how were they kidnapped as I can think of only one possibility that could make a person who's already dead come back again and be hunted. He is back for revenge." Rue said as she kept connecting the dots. "And how were they captured in the first place?"
"In that regard, I am sorry to inform you that I have nothing at the moment." Aya spoke plainly.
"And where are the others? The ones that were rescued together. I probably think that they were also promoted?" Rue asked again as she was impatient for the answers.
"In that aspect you are right, one is on a high altitude plane on the Indian Ocean headed to the Republic of Kenya. The last one, the woman, resigned shortly after she was rescued and she is working as a bartender in Miami." Aya blurted everything that she knew to just stop Rue from asking any more questions.
"Then I am disappointed but I will teach him a good lesson when we meet." Rue said with a voice that could scare away a tiger in a rain forest.
"Rue, this is out of our way but I thought I could inform you on something as innocent lives of American patriots are being lost still in Los Angeles." Aya said as she sympathized with all the soldiers that were still fighting in L.A.
"What is the current situation?" Rue asked as it also hurt her heart to see them in that situation.
"The US forces are on the losing end as they can't keep up with their enemies' strategy and attacks." Aya explained to Rue with zeal.
"I assume you have a way of helping?" Rue asked as she knew that her friend had to almost every kind of solution that was hard to deal with.
"Yes... It's just that..." Aya hesitated for a little while but was cut short when she attempted to continue talking.
"Do it." Rue commanded as she also felt hurt by the ongoing one-sided battle.
With that, two missiles were ejected from the Hypersport and they started heading to L.A which was just a couple of miles away. The missiles this time around left two streaks of blue light as they gained speed to their destination.
...
As of this moment, more than just what was expected has occurred and at some point, it even surpassed their expectations.
The soldiers have fought well to be able to hold out long enough as they had. Although the fleet of high-speed boats from the Royal Navy and the Coast Guard and also the destroyers and carriers from the Navy help out to their utmost ability, they couldn't be a threat strong enough to shake the cores of the drones pilots into a retreat.
Within the last couple of hours, different kinds of ammunition had already been used as this was a war that neither side could afford to lose, especially when the US military was on home ground.
It was a simple question that gave them determination and courage to continue fighting to their last breath. It would be embarrassing and also an act of weakness if they could lose the city to their enemies.
If that just happened, it meant that the invaders could push on for more territory and power if they won the first war.
So the soldiers gave their all but were seen to be on the losing end.
With everything that they had and used, only one thing remained that they still hadn't used and they couldn't possibly get their hands on. Nuclear Weapons.
With everything that has happened since the sun rose yesterday, with the kind of power of destruction that had been witnessed since then. Many thought that even one if not two low-intensity nuclear bombs were used. But to their limited knowledge on the matter, they didn't realize that it could have taken only three or four nuclear bombs to raze Los Angeles to the ground while turning it into a wasteland.
As the battle was still going on and the military forces seemed to be losing as they had given up hope in winning. Two missiles emitting blue light in the night were close to L.A as they were traveling at an astonishing speed.
The people that saw them were left with awe and amazement. But at the same time, their faces showed their dissatisfaction as they knew that those were among the reasons why so many people have died in L.A in less than a day.
The missiles were so fast that when they passed above the roadblocks on the city limits, the soldiers hesitated for a second before they reported the occurrence at their superior.
The Admiral cursed out loud as he was informed of the situation that was on its way to his soldiers.
It was already a losing battle and they were also running out of ammunition as they were currently using their reserves.
He knew very well that his forces couldn't fight on two fronts but still had the determination to order that some interceptors should be fired up so that they can reduce the damage that those missiles were made to do. But the answer that he received made the whole command post be demoralized.
There weren't any left from the whole fleet.
The only thing they could do now was to just watch it play out as the lives of their comrades comes to an end.
Swoosh!
Swoosh!
The missiles passed by close to them but were seen to be evading the bullets from the automatic weapons with much ease.
As they reached their destination, all the soldiers that were watching the scene had somber faces as they knew that it was the end.
Booom!
Booom!
