EPISODE 3 - My Seatmate, Daiki Kagoda

*They are all in the classroom*
Oh it's time for Physical Education.
Takeshi: Good morning!
Sadly, our homeroom teacher takes over the subject.
Takeshi: Okay, we'll be playing volleyball today.
Uh oh, I'm bad at that. I wonder what's the catch.
Takeshi: You will be playing by row.
Our teacher makes the craziest ideas and there's no use arguing over it.
Takeshi: You will each take turns, starting from Row 1, then Row 2, and so on...It would be a 3 vs 3 match.
At least its fair...
Takeshi: Fuuuuuuun, right? I'll give everyone 5 minutes to change, okaaaaaay?
Emis: Hey, Hiroto! Let's both change.
Hiroto: Ch-change? With you? Um...no thank you.
*Hiroto ran out of the classroom in the blink of an eye*
Why was his face very red? Well, time to go change myself.
*Emis is in the Boys' Bathroom*
Emis: Ah, done!
*Looks behind him*
Who's in this cubicle?
*Door unlocks*
Hiroto: Oh, hey Emis!
*Emis looks curiously at Hiroto*
Emis: Um, Hiroto? Why are you wearing a jacket?
Hiroto: Well, it is very cold today.
Emis: But, its the middle of summer.
Hiroto: W-Well, I just feel like it.
Emis: O-Okay.
That's odd.
*They are going down the stairs*
Emis: Are you sure you're gonna wear that?
Hiroto: Of course I am! Its my lucky jacket!
Emis: Oh, I forgot something! I'll be back in a second!
*Goes into the classroom*
*Gets something from bag*
Emis: I won't forget my water bottle.
*Goes out of classroom*
Emis: Oh, crap! No one's left but me...
*Runs down the stairs*
*Accidentally trips on the 2nd to the last stair down*
Emis: Waaaah!
*Falls on the floor*
Emis: Ouch...I think I sprained my ankle... *smiles*
At least I get an excuse, hee hee hee...
*Someone appears at the top of the stairs*
??? : Oh! Are you okay? *goes down the stairs* *looks at Emis* Looks like you're ankle's sprained. C'mon, I'll guide you to the Nurse's Office. *He helps Emis by putting Emis's arm around his*
*They arrive at the Nurse's Office*
*Emis's ankle has been treated; his ankle is wrapped with bandages; he is in bed; and the boy who helped him is sitting on a stool*
Emis: Thanks, buddy!
??? : Anytime, Emis!
Emis: Wait, how do you know my name?
??? : Because we're classmates, we're even seatmates and you don't recognize my face?
Emis: Uhh...sorry, I'm always irritated by Blueberry.
??? : Blueberry?
Emis: Ayaka Aiko, that girl always gets on my nerves. oh sorry, but what's your name? I really don't know.
??? : It's Daiki Kagoda, remember that okay?
Emis: Okay.
*They shake hands*
*Door opens*
Ayaka: So, this is where you guys are. We've been finding you two for ages.
*Looks at Emis*
Ayaka: Slacking off, I see...
Emis: *shouts* I'M NOT!
Ayaka: I'm just kidding.
*Ayaka laughs at Emis*
Ayaka: Look at you.
*Ayaka continues to laugh*
Grrrr. This girl's mocking me...Wait...is she...laughing? Its the first time I saw her laugh. She looks kind of cute.....But she's mocking me...
*Ayaka's laugh fades*
Ayaka: Well, that was a good laugh. Just don't get into trouble again, okay?
Emis: Ok...
Ayaka: I'll laugh at you if you do, teehee *smiles*. You can leave now Daiki, I'm pretty sure he can take care of himself now.
Daiki: Yup, well, I'll be leaving now. See you later.
*Daiki closes the door*
At least I made a new friend today. Lucky me...
*School bell rings*
*It's time to go home*
*Hiroto helps Emis walk by wrapping Emis's hand around his*
Hiroto: So, how's your sprain?
Emis: It's getting better already.
*Daiki shouts away from far behind*
Daiki: Hey! Let me join you guys! Let's go home together.
That's how my friendship with Daiki started. We'd always talk. We're not too close yet though. But it all changes...
*School bell rings*
*It is AM Break*
*1 week later*
*Emis is walking in the hallway alone*
Emis: ...
*He keeps walking until he sees the mysterious boy once again*
*They continue to walk toward each other until they intercept*
??? : *whispers in Emis's ear* Meet me down the school grounds next week and fight me or else...
*Emis pauses while the boy continues to walk*
What does he mean?
*He is back in the classroom*
Fight him? What should I do? I think I should ask Hiroto.
*School bell rings*
*Hiroto and Emis are in the hallway*
Emis: Hey, Hiroto.
Hiroto: Yes, Emy-kun?
Emis: The boy appeared again...
*Hiroto became serious*
Hiroto: What did he say?
Emis: He said I should fight him next week on the school grounds.
*Hiroto was surprised and he left without a word*
Emis: Hiroto?
Why is he so serious about it? I can just ignore it, right? How about I try asking Daiki.
*They are in the classroom*
Emis: *whispers to Daiki* I need to ask you something this afternoon break.
*Daiki nods*
*Daiki and Emis are in the canteen*
*Emis explains his situation*
Daiki: So this boy wants to fight you on the school grounds?
Emis: Yes.
*Daiki pats Emis's left shoulder*
Daiki: Buddy... *confidently* We are men! We do not chicken out from a fight!
Emis: No way! I don't know a thing about fighting.
Daiki: Just keep punching him in the face!
Emis: Well, okay.
There's no way 'd be fighting that guy. I think I should just ignore him.
Daiki: I'll be waiting for your fight!
Forgive me, Daiki...
*Daiki leaves*
And so, time went by so fast. One week and a day has passed.
*Emis is leaving home*
Emis: Bye, Mom!
Mom: Stay safe, Miku!
*Emis is walking to school*
Huh? That's odd. I'm pretty sure Hiroto arrives at this time.
*Emis arrives at school*
Why is it so silent?
Emis: Hello? Anybody here?
*Emis walks the 1st floor hallway*
*Emis sees something red*
What is this? It's red.
*Emis smells it*
Wait...No...It can't be...blood?
*Emis runs with all his might, stepping on the blood scattered on the floor*
No...no...This can't be happening...It must be my mind.
Hallucinations...Illusions...
*Emis arrives at Classroom 2-1*
*Emis cries*
Emis: *weakly* no...
