We spent the entire day out by the water. It was a warm day, and Carrigan kept walking along the shoreline, laughing when she was splashed. Later on, she fell asleep under the umbrella.
The previous night, I fell asleep and woke up in an empty bed. Carrigan had already freshened up for the day and was sitting on the floor going through her suitcase for something when I woke up. She smiled and said good morning, but I felt confused. Had she slept? I didn’t know and wasn’t able to ask.
So, when she passed out in the early afternoon, I left her alone. Nico came and sat next to me on the shoreline. “Alright?”
I shrugged, refusing to move.
“Did you get into it last night? Why she was throwing a wobbly?” He questioned the moment he sat.
I turned, my sunglasses blocking the rays from hurting my eyes. “What does any of that mean?”
He shook his head. “Did you two get into what happened? Why she was a proper arsehole?”
