Chapter 32: Myrtle Beach

If I didn’t believe Carrigan had never been to a beach before, her reactions to the environment told me enough of the story. But she was acting so…free. She seemed like she didn’t have a care in the world.

I hadn’t seen her open up since we’d started talking, let alone dating. But she seemed to be open to talking about anything. I knew that most likely wasn’t true and that she was just enjoying her time, but I knew I’d be able to get her to myself later after we ate and found ourselves in bed for the night.

I made dinner for the three of us from the burgers and hot dogs we’d picked up before leaving town. The fire pit was perfect for roasting our food, and Nico began to tell stories of his past with females. He wasn’t a serial dater; he was actually very picky about the women he went out with.
