When Jinhai woke up the next day, Evelyn was resting on him again. He imagined waking up every day to her like this and he smiled. Reaching for his phone he saw that it was 7 o'clock. He gently lifted her head and slid out from underneath her, gently placing her head on a pillow. He silently went to the bathroom to wash up for the day.
When he came out, he had a towel around his waist. He quietly crept to her side and put a hand on her shoulder gently shaking her awake.
She moaned trying to pull the covers up.
"Evelyn, it's time to wake up," he gently shook her again. This time she signed grumpily and stretched with her eyes still closed. Her palm landed on his chest and she felt around a little bit before she realized what she was touching. She sat up sharply, nearly head butting him.
"Jinhai! Why aren't you dressed?" She shrieked turning away from him. She placed a hand against her face to shield her eyes. He chuckled.
"What? All the important stuff are covered," he joked.
"Jinhai!" She shrieked again.
"Put some clothes on!" She hissed, squeezing her eyes shut.
"Sure. But you should get up and get ready it's 7:15." He said, he couldn't wipe the smile. He was loving her modest reaction. She scrambled off the bed in the opposite direction. She practically ran to the bathroom to get away from him.
She quickly got ready in the bathroom, rushing through her shower and skincare routine. She brushed her teeth quickly then realized she didn't have any clothes. After wrapping herself tightly in a towel, she opened the door.
"Jinhai!" She called out.
"Yes!" He called back. He sounded like he was downstairs.
"Can you bring me my robe? It's by my suitcases," she called. She decided it was less embarrassing to ask him to bring her the robe than to go out in a towel. He may not be worried about modesty but she was.
Soon she heard him walking to the bathroom and she hid her body behind the door.
"Here," he handed her the robe while smirking at her. She snatched it from his hands, said a quick thank you then slammed the door in his face. She heard his laughter on the other side and her face reddened. She quickly put her robe on and dried her hair.
Evelyn styled her hair in a simple chic half up do and curled the ends. Then she went to do her make up.
She put on a light layer of BB cream, drew a thin line of eyeliner on her upper eyelids, and put on a pink lip tint. When she went downstairs, Jinhai was making coffee. She was relieved to see he was dressed in his business suit, minus the blazer.
She went to her suitcases and pulled out a light blue dress shirt, a black pencil skirt, and a black blazer. She grabbed her bag of under garments and pulled out what she needed before quickly going upstairs to put change.
She grabbed her phone and portfolio and came back downstairs with her blazer tucked over her arm. She set it on the backseat of a chair in the kitchen and Jinhai handed her a cup of coffee.
Evelyn brought it close to her face and inhaled the rich aroma. She sighed happily and took a sip. She rolled her eyes back in ecstasy. The coffee addict in her loving her first sip of the day.
"Oh, that's good coffee," she said to him.
"Thank you," she added smiling at him. He had watched her over his own cup of coffee. He was becoming aroused by her reaction.
'Down boy' he thought to himself keeping himself hidden behind the kitchen island.
"You're welcome," he said. They drank their coffee in silence and quickly. When they finished they left the hotel room. It was about 8:30 and they still had an hour and half before her meeting.
Jinhai was going to take her to breakfast near WWO before dropping her off. He opened the car door for her and she elegantly slid into the passenger seat. He closed the door then went to the driver's side.
He started the car and carefully backed out of the parking lot. He put on the news station and they sat together in silence.
"Are you coming again tonight?" She asked him while he drove.
"Do you want me to?" He asked her instead of answering.
'Yes,' she thought. But it sounded too forward for her.
"If you want to," she said instead.
"I'll be there," he said after a moment.
"Your brother invited me to dinner," she told him.
"Did he?" He asked. She nodded.
"Where are you going?" He asked.
"He didn't tell me." She said.
"I'll find out," he said simply.
"Huh?" She asked but he didn't answer her.
When they got to the city he parked in front of a cafe. They went in and were immediately seated.
"Mr. Li," a hostess greeted.
"Your usual?" She asked when they were seated.
"No, give us a couple of menus please." Jinhai said. After going over the menu they settled on beef chow fun, shumai, and a pot of sweet chrysanthemum tea.
They made light conversation over breakfast before he drove her to WWO.
"Good luck," he said as he pushed the button to release her seatbelt.
"Thank you," she turned to smile at him.
"I'll see you later. Thank you for the lift," she said to him. He nodded at her. She got out of the car and put her blazer on, smoothing it down. She proceeded to the doors with her portfolio in hand and purse on her shoulder. Jinhai waited until she was in the building before he drove off to Li Corp.
Evelyn walked into the building and walked right through security. She went to the elevator and pressed the bottom for the top floor. When she got to the top she headed toward her father's office.
"Uh excuse me miss, do you have an appointment?" A woman in her early twenties said.
"My name is Evelyn and I'm here to see Deming Wei." Evelyn answered respectfully. She was in a good mood this morning so she decided to be accommodating.
"I'm sorry but your name isn't on the list." She said with a polite smile.
"I'm going to have to ask you to leave," the woman asked. Evelyn wasn't fazed she just stood there patiently.
"Check again, " she replied patiently. She was fifteen minutes early, so she had time to wait.
"Miss, if you don't leave I'm going to have to call security," the woman replied.
"Go ahead. " Evelyn said. She looked at her nails as if she couldnt be bothered.
"Excuse you? Who do you think you are?" The woman's sounded indignant. Evelyn simply raised an eyebrow daring her to make the call. The woman actually picked up the phone as if she was about to call. Evelyn had to admire her audacity.
A man came rushing into the room and pushed the button on the receiver. He grabbed the phone from the receptionist and put it back.
"Miss Wei, I am so sorry. Your father is in his office waiting for you." The man said turning to Evelyn.
"Assistant Sun, it's nice to see you again." Evelyn smiles brightly. The receptionist's face began to pale when she realized who the woman was.
Evelyn waited a beat to see if she was going to apologize.
"I'm sorry, Ms. Wei. Please forgive my ignorance." The receptionist said.
"What's your name?" Evelyn asked her.
"Mei, Mei Liu," she replied.
"Well Mei, what went wrong here is that you didn't ask for my full name. I understand your position but remember that next time you exercise everything to identify who walks through those doors before dismissing them" Evelyn said.
"I understand, I'm sorry," she said. Evelyn smiled, then turned to continue on her way.
