Once the appeal to loot and all that is shiny was made I calmed down. I still planned on trying this quest but an undertaking like this would take a very long time.
I mean even traveling between the villages was a journey of at least weeks. So taking advantage of this quest was not in the cards as the rebellion would notice Ringo missing for so long.
My Coat might cover me but that was a little iffy if they desperately needed me. I was fairly confident that it would pull through but they would probably wonder where the fuck I was once I take the Coat off.
Ringo was looking at the surrounding forest with some interest but I could also tell she was looking for threats.
"Got a bit of an issue with this dungeon. Not, sure how to take it." I spoke out as I turned the window over for Ringo to read. She blinked at the window for a moment before she let out a laugh.
"Well, someone's got an opinion on The God of Shinobi. Can't say I blame them as he did drop the ball. If I had half his power shit would be running right." Ringo let out with a smile.
"No comment about us potentially bombing Ninja Villages?" I asked with some curiosity on my face.
The fact that she only took the mocking comments about Hashirama away from the window was odd.
"Not really. You already brought me to a strange world I can only assume this is just another version of our world. If that is not the case then I don't really give a shit either. I'm not really all that attached to any of the villages." She let out lightly as she shrugged off my stare.
"I would smack you around a bit to knock some sense into you if you wanted to actually do this. I'm hot shit but a Kage could pull down my panties and fuck me and all I could do was say daddy more." Ringo explained why she did not have a major problem with this.
She was right but at the same time, I had some pretty esoteric abilities. In a straight fight, I would get mopped but with a shit ton of prep work, I could probably take a Kage….Like a lot of prep work. Like a month of etching out Runes and feeding them curses from afar.
As if reading my mind she smacked the back of my head and chided me.
"No fighting Kages miracle boy. I don't want to call anyone daddy but you." She let out with a glare on her face.
The statement was rather odd but it was a bit endearing. It was a strange feeling.
"I don't think a straight fight would go our way but there is no time limit here. We could take years and wait for them to succumb to old age. Pretty sure two of them are like two years away from retirement by death." I explained even if I did think we could take at least Rasa.
"Sure you did. That could work, not sure what that bounty is worth but it would get you something for god's work. I do think that those two have more kick in them than you think. You don't get to their level without being able to say fuck you to aging for a small bit." Ringo spoke out as she gave me a flat look.
"Alright I might have thought of taking on some Kages but I had a plan," I admitted and I was once more smacked on the back of my head.
"Plans can go suck a nut in the face of absolute power. This mission can be a long term goal but we should not focus on it." Ringo put her foot down with everything she had.
"Wait." I let out but she glared at me as if daring me to continue a foolish plan. I let out a sigh but I had to make this point even if I took more smacks.
"I know, I know. Fighting them might as well be a pipe dream but I do have a way of completing the other objective. Tell me can you figure out if this area is trapped?" I asked as I finished etching a rune using my Mana. I had already done some experiments of my own on this.
Ringo rolled her eyes but examined the area I pointed at. She was relaxed at first but as she got more and more into it and she got increasingly frustrated. Eventually, she threw her hands in the air with a put upon expression and a glare in her eyes.
"Are you fucking with me?" She asked just in case this was some sort of stupid ploy at getting my way.
"No, I really trapped it I can set it off if you want to give up for now." I let out lightly. Ringo paused for a moment before looking over the spot once more.
She then let out a sigh.
"Fine I can't find shit but I'm not a sensor or anyone with any real experience in seals." She admitted reluctantly. She was still clearly frustrated as this meant she could still fall into traps with all of her experience.
"I showed this little trick to the sensors in the compound and none of them could find my surprise. I even promised a Resurrection to the person who found it so they really tried but it's impossible." I explained to give her some slack.
"Okay, you got some tricks up your sleeve so what? That mission still sounds impossible." She let out sourly as she did not like being proven wrong even if I was the one doing it.
I gestured for her to step back and once she did I set off the rune. It exploded with the force of an exploding tag and I was pretty shotty with my work here.
" I could plant thousands of these runes all over a village and set them off to get that first objective off. With my Coat on even Jonin would ignore my presence so I could walk around setting these things up with no problem. It was not like you saw me setting this up either." I explained the plan that I had brewing.
I only needed to get the civilians to flee the village. So if I blew the shit out of the public areas I could devastate the morale of the civilian population.
I could try to push it and set up some bombs in Shinobi areas but that sounded risky. It was also not something Ringo would agree with.
Ringo gave me another measured look before sighing.
"That would work but something tells me you would not stop there. The rest of this mission is still on the table meaning you are going to wait to turn it in till you get everything you could from it. So why not wait until you are strong enough to complete it normally." Ringo shot my plan down with logic.
Gah, the one weakness of foolhardy individuals. I did sag as I realized she was right. I wanted what the mission was offering so I was likely to wait until I finished all the objectives.
There was no big bad after my ass so I had more than enough time to grind up. Well, I did make a big splash in the rebellion base so maybe Obito would take care of me to get his plan in order.
Then again the guy would probably beg me to bring Rin back for him so I was probably okay on that front. Madara was dead for now so Obito's running the show.
Black Zetsu might try to assassinate me for my potential but I could probably get him on my side. Could probably sell myself as a safety net for his mother.
Running is always an option as well. Even if I would feel reluctant to abandon the people I have befriended. I looked over at Ringo with some hesitance.
I could probably get her to come along with me I tried and I can to a parallel version of Naruto without stumbling into the Blind Eternities.
So yeah I was good to grind out safely for a long while. I did not need the rewards this mission was offering just yet.
"Alright fine, what are we going to do for now? We are going to still level up here so where is a good spot?" I questioned Ringo and she shot me a grateful smile.
"Good, you got to temper greed and ambition before it overtakes you. I know enough about the underworld to get us some bounties. The Land of Fire is absolutely filled with people wanting to kill each other." Ringo let out seriously as she looked around the vibrant forest around us.
Hmm, I guess I never thought about peace bringing out schemers and assassinations.
"I do want to make one stop before that." She let out hesitantly as she looked over in a certain direction.
"You are the one leading our little training journey." I let out idly giving her some more freedom. She gave me a grateful nod and then looked at me with a rather odd look.
"The Rebellion only took my body from the Mist so I don't have a good blade to work with. I figure this place might have a copy of me and we can kill her to get the Kiba blades." She let out after a moment.
I blinked at the comment as I did not expect that level of practicality from her but I guess I should. A Shinobi is nothing if not a practical creature.
"Are you sure you can take…yourself? She does have the Kiba blades. You also might already be dead here so someone else might have them." I asked trying to get a gauge on how she was feeling.
She let out a scoff.
"With a healthy body, I could kick my own ass three ways to Sunday and the only reason I don't have the Kiba blades right now is because the Rebellion is worried about the Mist going into a frenzy over losing Kiba. No need to worry about shit like that here." She explained her reasoning and I accepted it.
Well, I guess we are going to go kill my most loyal supporter.
