Of course, some of the poorer kids were getting picked on by the wealthier kids, but my mother and I just ignored it as we entered through the two large white pillars.
A woman immediately greeted us and identified that we had come here for the daycare program since I was literally just three years old.
"Yes, please follow me. You can spectate the class that is proceeding right now,"
After walking down a few large and winding halls filled to the brim with students, we finally reached a small patio with one large tree and tons of kids running around.
This is… too much for a daycare center.
…
About two years have passed, and I've finally reached the age where I can go to elementary school… yet for some reason, on that very same day, my mother and father talked to me very early in the morning.
"Son… we've enrolled you in the stay-at-school program… so you'll have to stay there for a while. Your mother and father have to go somewhere for… just a bit. We promise to pick you back up once we've completed everything," My mother muttered, bending down to my level and kissing my forehead.
"Aria will be attending the same program, so at least you have one friend… We'll be taking you to school, but please don't ask any questions,"
They almost seemed to plead as they stared directly at me, scraping the very depths of my soul as they attempted to search for some way out of this situation.
And… I knew something was up, but as of now, I was powerless, so I could only lightly nod and walk beside them on my way to the massive school.
We walked up the flight of stairs which didn't seem as big as before, checked into my dorm room, and saw my parents walk away, a small flame of anger burning within them.
"Good luck…" I muttered before turning into my dorm room and seeing Aria sitting on the edge of the bed.
She seemed a bit spacey as she sat on the edge of her small bed, her stubby legs dangling off the side of the mattress.
She hadn't matured in the slightest, though at some points, it felt as if she was too quiet… yet I never asked about it.
"What's wrong?"
"Mommy… passed away. People with black knives came and stabbed her hundreds of times…." She muttered, and my heart didn't falter in the slightest.
Seems this might be related to why my parents are leaving…
I had no attachment to that woman, but seeing as how I was going to be staying with Aria for quite a while, I knew I needed to cheer her up.
"It's okay… She's in a better place now," I hugged her and gave her some space to really process everything since it seemed she barely had the time to do that.
I mean, her entire life had nearly fallen apart, and she was still kind of recovering… so the best thing I could do for her now was to just let her think and cry everything out so she could focus on her future.
Revenge was a given, and if she ever asked me to help her… well, it would depend on how close I had grown once she asked that question.
As I walked through the halls of my new school, I ran into the floor chaperone since elementary schoolers weren't going to be left unattended.
There was a floor chaperone and then a room chaperone… but that's all I've learned from the idle chatter of my parents on the way here.
"Honey, you can't leave your room yet. Your caretaker will be shortly with you-"
"Ma'am! One of the doors is locked from the inside!" A man shouted from just down the hallway, and it was a handsome young man who didn't look a day over twenty-five.
He sprinted over with an extremely worried face… and if I was correct, this was the man who was supposed to be our chaperone.
"She needs space," I muttered, and the man shot a glare at me.
"Did you lock it?!" He shouted at the top of his lungs, and then the realization of yelling at a small child soon sunk in.
I didn't reply to his question as I was led back to my dorm room.
Though, when the man pushed down on the handle again, the door opened, so it was obvious Aria had decided to unlock the door.
"D-Don't ever do that again!" The man scolded Aria, who sat silently on her bed, dry tear marks of her sorrow still staining her tender white skin.
"Yes, sir," She muttered, and as the chaperone angrily stormed out, the woman who oversaw the entire floor spoke up yet again.
"H-How about I show you two around?" The woman stuttered, both me and Aria silently nodding as we followed behind her.
Though, just as we began our tour, I stopped in place as a set of a panels appeared in front of me.
