Chapter 8 Special Fruit

Currently, it had been five months since Lucas stepped into the mirror world and started cultivating. Inside, five months had passed, but in real life, it had only been thirty days at most.

Fwah!

Core energy burst through body as he felt a refreshing feeling envelope him. He opened his eyes and sighed softly before standing up from his crossed legged position. During these past four months, he had been painstakingly cultivating so he could be stronger before leaving the mirror world.

The reason why he was not in a rush was because he didn't know when he would be able to cone back if he left. There were two ways for someone to obtain a mirror world. The first would come naturally when the owner was in dept in cultivation and had a huge enlightenment of some kind. Then their bodies would be transferred to the mirror world.

The other way was through various unorthodox methods. For example, when the owner was pushed to the brink of death or stuck in a life threatening situation like Lucas was.

"Judging by my cultivation speed, even if I don't come back to the Mirror world, my cultivation should be faster than the normal generation I belong to". However did that mean that he would not try to come back?

The answer was most definitely no. The mirror world had too many advantages and he would devote his all into tapping into the mirror world so he would be able to return.

At this moment, he was finally feeling exhaustion and he had grown sick of cultivating in this environment. No matter how mystical it is, anyone would be sick of doing the same thing for five months.

With a single thought, Lucas placed his hand on the willow tree he had been sitting next to for a long time and activated his core energy that surged into the tree. That tree that was at the center of the elemental forces in Lucas's Mirror world was the gateway for him to enter and exit. Lucas saw a bright white light flash as the willow tree lit up before his eyes and he lost consciousness.

............

However at another place, in a large fortress like compound that was filled with the silence, yet agony of human life. A tall burly man sat at his office chair as he stroked his goatee.

In his eyes hid a deep glint of rage and killing intent as he starred at a paper before his eyes. This man was none other than the warden of the slave silo that Lucas was previously imprisoned in.

It had been a month now but there still had been no news concerning the two slaves that managed to escape from his slave silo.

This had undoubtedly made him a laughingstock as he was mocked by his former peers and colleagues. Two slaves actually managed to escape his silo while killing two fifth level guards and a second level guard that guarded them as well. This was no doubt an unspeakable humiliation to him. He felt it was the same as slapping him directly in the face.

However, he had put out flyers and wanted posters with drawings of the two escapees in order to find them but he realized that reality was cruel.

So far, there had only been news about one of them who was a middle aged man. The main reason he was able to be found was because he had slave brand on his face that made him stick out like a sore thumb no matter where he went. However, he still managed to worm his way around his fingers each time.

As for the other one, it made him even more frustrated. A sixteen year old kid had actually managed to evade his network of information for a month to the extent that not even his ghost could be seen.

He had even tried to dig deep into the background of the young man to see if he could get any leads. After all, there was a high chance that a teenager would return to his hometown or family members if he ever escaped. However what he found out angered him to the point he almost spat out blood.

He couldn't even find out the person who organized the trade for the two fellows he was after. It seemed like whoever sold them wanted them to not be found.

So throughout, there were still no leads. "Whatever I have to do, I will find these two even if I have to expend large amount of resources. The slave silo won't have its reputation threatened by two unruly low lives even if I have to send guards at the tenth level dawn tier grade". A cold glint flashed in his eyes as he spoke in a maniacal voice.

Lucas was completely unaware of his current circumstances in the social world. His eyes opened to see a dark dreary cave, however the cave had a small faint light at the top of the ceiling that illuminated the small area a little.

Lucas didn't get up from his resting spot for close to five hours.

By the time he gathered enough energy to get up, his stomach was grumbling crazily as if it was demanding that if he didn't provide food, it would devour his organs.

Lucas got up and held his stomach as he examined his surroundings. At that time, he felt a small gust of wind which made his eyes light up. A small wind was nothing on normal circumstances, but in this place, even the faintest breeze meant that an exit was most likely not too far away from here.

Lucas didn't dally and immediately moved towards the direction of the breeze. He ignored the hunger that was intensifying by the minute and moved as fast as he could until he finally saw a flash of light in the distance. His eyes had a hint of joy as he finally got towards the exit.

"Wow, looks like my luck is pretty good, there is a city a couple miles from here". As Lucas walked out of the cave that was on the low end of a small hill, he immediately spotted a city at the far distance. He held his stomach that had hunger pangs and moved through the forest between him and the city ahead.

Whoosh! Lucas leaped from tree to tree as he navigated his way around. In his opinion, not only would he be able to stay away from wild beasts when he passed by, he could also directly ambush them if he came against any that were higher than his strength.

After leaping for close to thirty minutes, he came across a flaming Leopard that was resting on a tree a few feet away. A normal flaming leopard would be at the fourth level of the Dawn tier grade. Suddenly Lucas's eyes flashed with a brown light as a lifelike replica of himself stood at the foot of the tree that the leopard was resting on.

"Unranked skill/ Shadow clone".

Lucas had directly utilized his unranked skill which he had found time to improve back in the mirror world. The flaming leopard immediately noticed the fake clone and flames soared out of its body. It barred it's fangs and directly pounced from the tree in a fit of rage at the completely open and unguarded silhouette in front of it.

However, the clone moved quickly and avoided the attack of the flaming leopard. It then maintained a fair distance while looking at the Flaming leopard with an indifferent expression that would probably not collapse even if it encountered mount tai.

Seeing the silhouette dodge its attacks, flames madly gushed out as the leopard used to flames to boost its own speed like a propulsion engine. This time, the silhouette did not dodge and just stood there silently.

Qiang!

The sharp brandished claws instantly shot out of the leopards paws as it swiped ferociously at Lucas, however, the claw went right through the silhouette standing there.

"Now!"

Seeing that the Leopard was confused as to why it's attack didn't do anything to the standing silhouette. Lucas dived down from his spot on the trees, he inserted his core energy into his palm as his hand shot out straight to the Leopards back.

The leopard didn't even realize its imminent danger before the palm strike landed on its back and shattered its spinal cord. The flaming cat cried out in pain before completely going silent. Even the vocal cords had been snapped apart.

Seeing the flaming leopard in a sorry position, Lucas didn't bat an eye as he plunged his fist into the Leopards skull directly shattering it in one blow.

"Hmmm, am stronger now after spending another three months in the Mirror world, it's too bad I don't know how to enter and exit at will. Even the Fallen angels memories only has an artificial way of entry, however it is not something I can do at the moment. Never mind, I'll just eat this leopard and take it's beast core".

Immediately, Lucas got to work and started searching for the beast core located within the beasts body. After finding a fiery red crystal, he proceeded to strip the leopard off some of its internal organs and blood before creating a fire and grilled the leopard for lunch.

"How satisfying!". Lucas had a wry smile after he had eaten a sizeable amount. His five months inside that mirror world had been equivalent to not eating for 30 days without food in the real world. So even after eating the full leopard, he still had a little bit of unsatisfied hunger hiding within him. However he let it go for now, he had already eaten a lot anyway.

Lucas continued on his journey, leaping from tree to tree, he was coming nearer and nearer to the city. He stopped when he was only a mile away.

"These clothes I have on me aren't any different from beggars outfits. I can't go into the city looking and smelling like this". Indeed, Lucas looked repulsive even to himself, he noticed that there was a stream about a mile back, however, what would he wear even if he went to have a bath. At that time he felt a large surge of energy coming not too far from his current location.

"That's, interesting, I wonder where that aura is coming from and who it belongs to".

Lucas looked far off and moved swiftly towards the aura, the closer he got, the more bloodthirsty killing intent he felt. "Hmmm, not bad for a killing intent, this person must have killed an innumerable group of people before". Lucas had the tone of an elder addressing a junior. Soon he finally got to the place the aura came from. He didn't dare be cocky and directly concealed himself quickly in the thick tree leaves above the grounds.

What he saw baffled him. He saw 16 young and middle aged men laying on the floor, dead. All of them mainly had a slit mark on their throats. "This must be the work of a sword user, however it's definitely above those at the Dawn tier grade".

Lucas was baffled as he looked at the scene of corpses, however he soon noticed that two men were duking it out in the distance. One was holding a sword while the other held a saber, the saber user was definitely in a disadvantageous position as he tried his best to passively defend against his opponents attack.

Nevertheless, reality proved cruel as he kept on getting more battered and bruised as blood rushed out of his injuries. The other man however, only had slightly dirty clothes. He was a middle aged man with an ordinary appearance but superb sword skills.

He seemed like he was just toying around with the saber user who was giving his all. Looking a bit closer, he realized that the men who had died were actually forest bandits.

Their leader was also a bandit and the one who was currently on the losing side of the fight. The middle aged man had a long silver robe with a phoenix emblem engraved at the chest area. From the looks of it, he was probably an important figure in the city nearby and had come out here for special reasons.

However, he encountered these group of robbers and taught them a lesson.

"Soul lining skill/ Counter shift".

Seeing the bandit leader throw out an attack with his saber, the middle aged man didn't even bother to dodge as he circulated his defensive skill. A yellow barrier formed around him before the bandit leader struck.

Bam! The bandit leaders body shook as he was sent flying and crashed against a tree. He spat out mouthful of blood and crashed to the floor unconscious. Dusting his robe, the yellow barrier disappeared as the man remained rooted to his original position.

He smirked disdainfully as he looked at the group of bandits as if they weren't even worth his time. Then he turned around and moved a bush out if the way to reveal a blue brimming plant with a blue fruit hanging on the stem. "Thats-Thats Spatial class energy fruit". Lucas had a bewildered expression while looking at the precious red fruit with a strange texture around its body. His eyes instantly lit up with a sense of longing

The silver robed man had his eyes lit up when he glanced at the fruit.

However as he planned to continue on his way, he spotted something that made him frown, then he turned around and squinted his eyes in Lucas's direction.

"He... He couldn't have possibly spotted me right?"

As if to answer his question, the middle aged man shouted.

"I know you are there, if you don't want to end up like your buddies immediately, I suggest you step out from your hiding spot".
