"You really want to go to such a place?" one knight asked after hearing Saphira speak of where she wanted them to be lead to.
"You don't have to come, you can point us the location and we will go there by ourselves," she replied.
It wasn't about arrogance but these knights were already at their limits, if they are to join and would still fight then with how dangerous things are, they will surely lose their lives.
Since they are already here, Saphira wishes that no more life will be lost.
Looking at her the knights understood that she wasn't being arrogant or looking down at them.
She was simply genuinely worrying.
"We understand."
With that they gave the general direction which is deeper in the destroyed forests.
Saphira, Hunter and Drake walked towards their destination while Ridge brought up the needed reenergizing potions.
There are also some healing potions but they are not as effective as Nixon's healing but it will help to those who are lesser injured.
After handing the potions, he checked the condition of their food.
Seeing as there were almost the same type, he can tell that they are already tired of this.
"Nixon," he called.
"Hmmm, what is it?"
"Help me wash the rations in order to be cooked," he said tossing a potato.
"Let me just finish a few more tents then I'll help you," Nixon replied.
Ridge prepared the ingredients while waiting for him and once he was the one, Nixon washed the ingredients.
Using his own water.
"Those kids, even without their commanding officer they knew just what they needed to do," Juno commented.
He and Leon stayed behind because they themselves are injured that accompanying Saphira and the rest will only burden them.
"The water used by sir Nixon is the water of Black Tortoise, it also has its healing effect and rejuvinating effect. And even though Basilisk leans more on poison, he can make potions better than most of the potion made by others." Leon pointed.
Juno nodded his head, "Both of them are incorporating their specialties on dish that sir Ridge is making. Thsi will not only lessen the people they needed to heal but will also lessen the consumed mana when healing and reenergizing."
Leon shuddered, "If these two are already at this point of competence then what more is it for the commander and vice commander? I can't imagine it at all."
Meanwhile, the other three were defeating demonic beasts left and right which are much bigger than their size.
With another one beaten down, they finally breathed.
Drake was moving at the back while the two were walking along side one another.
"By the way, Willow left with her face looking pale. What did you tell her?" Saphira asked.
"Nothing much, I just said I want to remain friends with them until the end," Hunter replied.
Saphira furrowed her brows in confusion, "If that is all, she should be indifferent or happy. She wouldn't look pale."
Hunter smiled before glancing at Drake, who obviously heard what he had just said.
Drake clenched his hands into fists.
It was a clear warning, Hunter is warning Willow and now him.
Just like when Saphira fell sick, he was telling them that he can forget anything if Saphira were to be placed in danger.
Saphira let it go before sighing.
She lowered her volume, "I really am not suited for this kind of position, why must you vote for me?"
Hunter looked at her.
"Two of them won't listen to me completely, one will even go against me. If it were you then everyone would have listened properly," she added.
"No, I am not suited for it either."
This had always been his answer to her that she could only go silent.
But Hunter wasn't saying this just to say it.
He really wasn't suited for it because all his focus was on her.
Thinking about their training and all, he wouldn't be able to do that especially with the way Drake and Willow disregard Saphira's efforts.
But Saphira can do it.
No matter how disadvantage she was, she still thinks of everything as a whole.
Hunter could lead an Empire, he knew that.
But he wouldn't be able to lead this group properly.
This group alone.
"I would like to rest for a bit, you can bring to Ridge everything that we got," she said after they returned to the base.
Those who are in there were looking at them in shock, because they were pulling such big demonic beasts and the number wasn't small at all.
It was easy to pull these bodies by enhancing your physical strength.
But what shocked them was the fact that these three haven't even left for three hours yet.
And here they are with such number of preys.
Hunter didn't object and left her to get to where Ridge is.
Saphira looked around for a high enough tree before jumping on one of its branches.
People watched her every move but upon getting a top the tree, she actually sat down, leaned on it and closed her eyes.
They were agape.
They were just complimenting her and her group for doing some jobs even though they just arrived but now the leader actually went to rest while her troop was still working.
After Hunter and Drake stepped out, they saw her in her position.
Drake's eyes was instantly filled with irritation before looking at Hunter.
"Are we going to survey the area?" he asked.
"Yes, there is nothing for us to do here anyway," Hunter replied before the two of them left to check their surrounding.
'That guy must have thought that you acted high and mighty a while ago but now you are already lazing around.'
'...'
Vermilion Bird clicked his tongue.
'Anyway, do you plan on trying it here? This is much bigger,' he instead asked seeing how Saphira will not answer him for talking about Drake.
'I do, though not just yet,' she finally replied.
