CHAPTER 95: A Different Cruelty

"Nixon, you will tend to the wounded for now. Focus on ensuring that they are to regain their health. Willow-"

When she turned Willow was not yet around.

"KNIGHT WILLOW VIRESCENT, KNIGHT DRAKE ALPHIUS, GET INSIDE THIS INSTANT!!!"

Nixon and Ridge jumped at her shouting, even Juno and Leon.

She seemed to really have been angered by her subordinate.

Willow and Drake entered, they stared straight but Willow could feel Hunter's cold glare.

"Willow, follow some of their knights and help restore the fortresses before the Imperial City, right this instant without resting. Once you arrive start working, I will have you report on your progress every single day."

Saphira was looking at her and could clearly feel the pressure from her.

"Yes, sir," Willow knew this was her punishment for not focusing on the matter at hand.

Drake gritted his teeth but just as he opened his mouth Hunter glared at him.

This time a different pressure came to his side.

A pressure in the heart as if the gravity was at its center trying to squeeze it in.

This was new, not once did he felt this kind of pressure from Hunter.

After five seconds, the pressure was releeased and Drake couldn't help but cough.

This means Hunter have become even more stronger than what they think he is currently capable of.

Vermilion Bird opened his eyes and thought upon feeling the pressure from Hunter, 'Such strength, haven't met a host with that great strength before. He really was simply held back.'

Saphira obviously felt it as well.

Not just her but even the rest who are inside.

Hunter exuded a pressure that is solely towards one person, such aura suppression isn't something that anyone could just do.

Admittedly even Saphira couldn't do it, she can exude strong pressure that could suppress the surrounding but she can't control it to the point of having it only towards one person.

"Ridge, I needed you to create a poison that will not affect anything other than the demonic beasts in the water. When I say anything, it means including the water itself."

Ridge acknowledged afraid that with one delay, he would receive her ire.

Saphira was carefree but when it comes to mission, there is one thing they had forgotten.

At eight years old, they were already brought to a few missions to train them properly.

And Saphira being the chosen leader would be the most serious that with one simple mistake, she would show you who the boss is.

Her anger may not be as explosive back then but it is much scarier right now.

"Drake, Hunter and I will be off to get you some demonic beasts that will help you in making this poison," Saphira added after thinking for a bit.

If he is to make some poison, then he will need test subjects to ensure that it will work on each of those demonic beasts without affecting the none demonic ones.

After this, she looked at Juno and Leon, who was still in shock for what they are witnessing at this moment.

Was their country closed off to the point that such young kids could now compare to veterans?

Do other people of the same age as them, from other kingdoms, acts just like this?

That such a child was taking her missions much more serious than those who are double her age?

They were teens but a bit of explanation regarding the matter at hand and they already knew what should be done and how to move forward.

It hasn't even been an hour since they came, yet Juno and Leon felt like the situation had already made a huge turn to their favor.

Before everything went messy in this place, the two of them met many knights who are of the same age as these kids but most of them were still immature.

Waiting for the command while some felt like they are superior than others.

Bullying towards those who couldn't become knights, and many more that this scene is truly a shock to them.

Though admittedly the two, whom the commander had shouted at, felt just like those kids they knew.

It seems they have problem within their group but neither of the two of them would want to know of it.

"Is it alright for your soldiers to accompany us to our destinations, sir?" Saphira asked.

The two snapped out of their thoughts and nodded their heads.

After things have settled down, Willow is about to depart with the assigned soldiers without her being able to raise her head and look at the others.

Hunter wealked towards her.

"You are being too blinded by your love. Don't wait for either of us to send you back, together with the one who is being too blinded by hate. I don't mind locking you both up until all of this is over."

She shivered at the coldness of his voice.

"You do remember that I am only letting you both go in this disrespectful attitude because she is doing just that. But I think I have already reminded you as well, I have a bottom line."

Hunter stood straight and looked down at her, he was taller so he was obviously towering over her.

"Don't cross that line Willow Virescent. I still wish to remain friends with all of you."

Willow swallowed hard, she knew she was wrong.

Saphira had done so much for her, she even thanked her.

But her emotions were leaning towards Drake that she just couldn't leave him alone.

She felt like he will disappear if she were to do so.

She looked up and watched Hunter walked back to Saphira's side, gone was the coldness she felt and back was the indifferent but warm person.

Willow took a deep breath to calm her heart, right now she knew one thing.

One wrong move and she would surely provoke him.

Willow had been feeling it for a while now.

No even back when they were kids.

Hunter has a cruel side, much more cruel than Saphira when she got mad for their sake.

It was a cruelty that he has towards the people who are close to him.

A different cruelty towards your enemies.
