"You really won't be able to do anything with this kind of attitude though."
Nixon snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Saphira.
He went inside the forest to train so that he won't see anyone but in the end, he was still unable to do anything proper.
"What do you mean?" he asked.
He wanted to joke and laugh it off but he couldn't find it in himself to do it.
"Your mind is wandering so much and concentration is what was needed with what you are training," she replied.
Nixon pursed his lips, "It is not wandering, it is actually blank."
Saphira raised an eyebrow, "..."
"..."
"..."
Nixon looked away, "..."
"..."
He bit his lip before sighing, "I myself don't understand what is going on."
"Come on, let's walk around town," Saphira invited him.
Though he was not in the mood, he still followed knowing that she wasn't asking for him to come for her but she was telling him to go with her.
With a hunched back, he followed behind her.
They walked for a good while looking around when Saphira suddenly turned around.
"You know, what you are lacking is a leash."
"Huh?"
"Your back is so hunched up, it feels like I beat you up just so you would follow me here. After beating you up, the only thing that is lacking is for me to put a leash on you so that you really won't be running away."
Nixon sighed before looking to the side, his back straightened and he walked beside her.
Saphira smiled as she continued walking, this time Nixon was walking beside her.
"I think you know what makes you distracted right now," she said.
He looked at her eyes and knew he won't be able to hide it.
"Maybe because of what happened back in Draco Empire, when she compared me to him so ruthlessly, every time I see them together. I just started being irritated."
As he spoke, Saphira walked over to another stall and bought some ice cream.
"Here you go, to cool your head a little bit."
Nixon frowned but accepted it.
"Then why don't you just stay away?" Saphira spoke after biting on her ice cream.
"Stay away?" he asked.
"Yes, if it irritates you to the point of being distracted then stay away. You can simply say that you just want to concentrate, everyone would understand that," she said in a matter of fact tone.
"But teamwork is-"
"It won't be called teamwork if you can't even do anything when you are together. Having such negative thoughts even, it will just bring disaster instead," Saphira interrupted him.
Nixon went silent.
"You really don't need to think too much of it, as your commander I am allowing you to do it. Why can't they? Okay let's do it this way..."
She looked at him after wolfing down the half eaten ice cream.
"Ooohhh that's painful," she complained when the coldness hit her head.
Nixon laughed, "Sometimes I really wonder if you are a noble. You don't act like one at all."
Saphira waved her hand, "We will tell everyone that I am tasking you to do your training on your own because I feel like you are still lacking. That no one should talk to you unless you become better."
"Isn't that going too far?" he asked.
He was only irritated towards Stormie and Felix, why must he not speak to everyone?
"You want to find a reason, then this is the best reason. A punishment for still lacking," she seriously replied.
Nixon thought back, he was actually being irritated to the point where he can't even have proper conversation with the rest.
Maybe this choice is indeed the best for him at this moment.
A time for himself.
Nixon had always been outgoing that he always had someone with him.
He can befriend anyone as long as he wants.
he looked down at his ice cream, finished it the way Saphira did before looking back at her.
"Okay, I will do just that. I feel that it is also the best arrangement for my current condition."
Saphira smiled and nodded her head before she started walking back to the inn.
"You can train on your room, I asked a barrier ability user to put one surrounding it. That barrier is disconnected from the caster so even he won't know what you are doing."
"Am I going to lock myself?"
Saphira shook her head, "The door remained as a door, opening it won't break the barrier but closing it will allow the barrier to be closed off as well."
After getting there, Nixon went straight to his room.
"What happened?" Stormie asked Saphira.
Nixon's face was so serious.
"I berated him anyway gather up..."
Everyone went to her.
"No one is to speak with him, I want him to remain alone for the time being. His concentration is lacking and it hinders his training. It is better to let him have a time for himself."
They were shock that Saphira had actually punished Nixon, nevertheless they still acknowledged.
But they also had their own thoughts.
They will train harder so that they won't be punished.
At the same time, they feel bad for Nixon as he was the most outgoing, he was the one who loves talking to people more.
For him to be punished that he will have to remain alone, isn't that torture?
Hunter looked at Saphira and she smiled at him while bobbing her brows up and down.
She knew he knows why this was the case.
