After returning to the inn, Willow was waiting for her outside.
Hunter nodded at her before entering while the two of them started walking down the town.
"What's wrong?" Saphira asked when Willow did not speak for long.
"I don't know how to apologize. I have no right and you did nothing wrong, yet all I did was to keep on disappointing you. I had been racking my brain but I couldn't find the right words or actions."
Saphira looked at her.
Thinking back.
It was true that Willow's actions were plain childishness, a childish act of being in love.
Wanting to support the one you love with everything you've got.
Especially so when he was hurt so much by that person.
"Aren't you repenting now?" she asked her before pointing at a coffee shop near them.
She was gesturing for them to enter it.
Of course when they entered the shop, the people inside looked at them.
They were known as the guest knights, the order that was leading the fight against darkness.
But they didn't bother and simply took a sit while ordering.
"Am I really?" Willow answered her sentence before they entered.
"If you aren't then you would still be clinging on to Drake until now," she replied.
"I was tasked by my grandfather," Willow answered.
"Will you really listen?" Saphira laughed.
Willow pursed her lips and didn't answer.
"You are already repenting enough. Staying away from the one you love... is quite tortorous you know."
Being apart was already painful enough what more if you are together but couldn't stay close?
Willow smiled sadly.
"He doesn't seem affected though."
Just then their orders came.
"Tell me Willow, I am curious about something," Saphira spoke after sipping from her coffee.
"Hmmm, their coffee is something else. Just as I thought, I heard they had the best coffee in this kingdom," she commented.
"What is it?" Willow asked referring to her first sentence.
"If someone else appeared beside him, someone who can be with him as well. What would you do?"
She was stunned by this sudden question before she sighed.
"Then that's just it. I have done my part in showing him what I feel, if he still chooses that person and not me. I can only say that we really are not for one another. I have fought for these feelings for so many years, if he has no feelings for me then he will have that other person instead of me."
Saphira stared at her before chuckling, "I see that your resolve have indeed changed a lot."
"Everyone is growing up, I need to do it as well if I want to stay in the group. At the same time I need to acknowledge everything that I have done. All those wrongs," Willow replied.
"Then there is no more point for you to apologize. Seeing how you knew what wrong you did and seeing how you are repenting over it, I don't think I would want to punish you even more," Saphira told her.
Willow remained silent before asking a question.
"Why did you ask that by the way?"
"Hmmm I don't know I just suddenly thought of it. Watching you speak and say that he doesn't care even though you stepped away from his side," Saphira replied.
"I am somehow jealous of you and Hunter."
Saphira smiled, "Yeah but the two of us are just too serious with the mission, so I guess we really are together at the same time not."
This was the first time that she had spoken of this.
Not even towards prince Gideon or her grandfather did she spoke of it.
She always tried to brush it off because she and Hunter haven't spoken about it at all.
But somehow since they were in the topic, she ended up speaking about it.
"Is this part of being an elite?" Willow asked her.
"Your love life is being affected?" Saphira replied with a laugh.
"More like, you have no time to think about your love life because when you do, you will end up being too distracted that you'll lose sight of what you have to do."
Saphira remained silent.
"I can only tell that if he were to be placed in danger, I would lose sight of everything instantly," she then said after a few minutes.
"I think I would be the same," Willow answered.
"That is why I want all of us to keep getting stronger, that way such a thing won't happen," Saphira admitted.
One of the real reasons why she had wanted them to be stronger.
In order to ensure that no one will be placed in danger to the point of another losing control.
"But I like this now," Willow said after they had finished their drinks and started walking back to the inn.
"Our current relationship?" Saphira chuckled.
"Hmmm, I felt so at ease even though all I spoke of was dark things."
Admittedly when Willow realized the changes in her, she felt scared.
Would the rest look and treat her differently?
It was the complete opposite of who she was in the past after all.
"I think this is what had been suppressed all along as you grew up. This is a part of you that somehow you really didn't want to accept. Dark thoughts regarding others," Saphira told her.
"It's quite enjoyable though, having someone to share my thoughts," Saphira then added.
Willow smiled a part of her feeling light after a proper talk with Saphira.
After they returned, it went back to normal where they barely spoke with one another.
A relationship very much different than the rest but felt closer than the rest as well.
If Saphira would be asked, she liked it a lot.
"Are you sure about this?"
After dinner, Hunter checked on Drake.
"About the sword? Yes very much, why?"
"That's not it. But Willow, what if someone else were to appear beside her?"
Drake clenched his hands into fists.
To be fine?
Of course not.
But he still has a promise to himself.
To get back at the one who killed his brother and get his body back as much as possible.
