In a street in the Kyoto City District.
Xu Ke leaned wearily in her seat, her entire body slowly relaxing from an intense tension she had just experienced. During the past half hour, her nerves had been tested like never before.
She breathed slowly and deeply, again and again, until her chest began to calm somewhat, but her heart was still audibly pounding hard.
"I..." she swallowed, "I can't believe... I'm still alive..." her face was ashen.
"Was that fast?" Lin Fei asked slowly as he drove. An unspoken thought of his was that the speed wasn't even as fast as his jogging.
Xu Ke gave him a look.
"I was nearly scared to death; you tell me if that's fast!"
"Well..."
"I didn't come to Kyoto to suffer; I came to relax!" Xu Ke said helplessly, "You nearly killed me..."
No sooner had she spoken these words, her face reddened slightly.
Both sensed the unintended innuendo. Lin Fei, though, was thick-skinned and kept a straight face—something he was really good at.
