Anyone Can Cook

Returning from the day's hunt Hiko almost couldn't recognize the ship, the wood now glowed a dark red showing that the ship had successfully been upgraded. On the deck of the ship, Hiko looked to see Nami, Alvida, and Nojiko all meditating training their nen, all three were close to developing their Hatsu if he were to guess Alvida would be an enhancer, Nojiko a conjurer, and Nami a transmuter.

Not wanting to disturb their meditation Hiko moved to the front of the ship when he had gone hunting he felt that his vibration attacks were able to move through the water with much greater ease. When he thought about it, his Fishman DNA might have awakened an innate talent for Fishman Karate, pulling out a tub and filling it with water Hiko placed his hands in the water. Closing his eyes Hiko thought over what Jinbe described the art as, ' Using the water in your surroundings to attack the water in your opponent's body. '

The description was extremely vague so he was going to have to do a lot of experimentations, essential the user created waves from the water in the air. Taking his hands out of the water Hiko looked at the beads covering his hand, trying not to use his devil fruit powers Hiko closed his hand making the water explode through the gaps as in his fist.

When the droplets impacted the deck they exploded into mini geysers, grinning Hiko coated his hand in the water again, ' let's see if I can get a skill for this. ' Over and over Hiko practiced making the water exploded against the deck, after three hours Hiko was able to condense a small bead of water from the air. While it didn't look like much when Hiko was able to pierce 100 feet into the ocean, any ship wouldn't be able to handle what he called Eki Shizuku taihō. When he completed this technique the first time he had gotten the notification he had been waiting for.

[Skill Gained: Fishman Karate Lvl.1, This fighting style utilizes the water in the air to attack with devastating blows.]

Wiping the layer of sweat that had built up on his brow Hiko jumped into the ocean to wash off the last time he had walked by Nojiko forgetting about his 'blessing' she had ended up dragging him to the floor before Nami found them entangled five minutes later. After his dip in the water, Hiko dried himself as he walked to the kitchen to start preparing dinner, opening the refrigerator Hiko pulled out all the ingredients he needed.

' I still can't shake my craving for ramen, I don't think I'll ever find it in this world so I might as well make my own. 'Placing some pork belly into pan Hiko poured soy sauce, salt sugar, cooking wine, sake over the meat before covering and placing onto the stove. Igniting the stove Hiko turned on the oven before he moved onto the most essential part in ramen noddles, creating a mound of flour on the countertop Hiko created a well in the center before pouring in some water. Kneading Hiko continued to add more water until a smooth ball of dough formed, rolling up his sleeves Hiko cut the dough into logs before he started to roll the dough elongating it.

Once it had reached the three feet mark Hiko grabbed both ends of the rope before he started to stretch the dough before bringing the two ends together and allowing the rope to twist in on itself. After five minutes the dough was almost like a rubber band as the gluten had developed, cutting the dough again into sections Hiko grabbed one and rolled it out a little before he started to make the noodles. Folding the dough caused the total amount of strands too double each time in five seconds Hiko had a total of 128 noodles, ' Back on earth I could only make 128 in ten seconds, let's see if I can beat my new record.

' Grabbing another stick of dough the edge of Hiko's hands started to blur as he moved faster than most could see, 4 seconds, 3 seconds, 2 seconds each time Hiko grabbed a piece of dough his speed increased until he got to the last one. As he worked to the dough it started to smoke as the friction from his hands started to cook the dough, frowning Hiko opened the trash throwing the burnt dough away.

Repeating the process with the other large log Hiko had a large pile of noodles, moving quickly he took out a large pot before placing it under the faucet. As the pot-filled Hiko took the pan with the pork putting it into the oven to let it braise, turning the faucet off Hiko sprinkled some salt into the water, placing the pot on the stove. Taking out yet another pot Hiko poured some pre-made tare broth into the pot along with some soy sauce, scallions, garlic, and bonito flakes before covering.

Turning back to the now boiling water Hiko placed half of the noodles into the pot allowing them to cook, after a two minutes Hiko took the noodles out placing them into a large bowl. Repeating one last time Hiko got rid of the water, then opening the oven taking out the pork, allowing the meat to cool down Hiko took out four white bowls.

Pouring some broth into each bowl Hiko started to assemble the ramen, next came the noodles then some thick-sliced pork finally some seaweed and scallions to garnish. Grinning Hiko looked over his best-made meal yet, ' I better get these out there, I wonder who's going to sit on my lap this time.
