Despair

"Last I checked, I am, let's see: seventeen? Sixteen? Nope. I am nineteen, Jake. A full-grown ass nineteen-year-old woman."

"Girl."

"You get the point."

 Jake chuckled lightly and so did Vanessa. If this was going to be the start of a reunion, he was willing to go all in. Besides, it could also let him understand her character a bit more.

"Sure you just want to talk?" Jake asked. Hands in his pockets.

Vanessa puppy-eyed him and said, "Pinky promise." She demonstrated this with a mock sealing of her lips.

"What about him?"
