Third person POV
After some time, Roxas decided to go home to his house, so he said goodbye to them and went home. At 9:01 a.m., he arrived at his house. "I'm home…" Rosas then greeted back, "Welcome back home, anak. How's your trip?"
"It's fine, mom. I'm having so much fun with my friends."
Roxas then took off his shoes and entered the living room. "Thanks. Where's Timothy-kun and Hailey-kun?"
"Oh, they went shopping for groceries with your father."
"Okay then."
He then went to the sofa, only to see Laurel lounging on it.
"What the…?" Roxas commented in surprised shock.
Laurel then heard him and greeted him positively, "Hello there, Roxas-kun, you're back."
"Um, hi…there."
"Oh, right! Someone was looking for you, anak," Rosas explained to her son. "This is Laurel Sakiyama, he is a college student from Minato City."
Because of that, Roxas bowed deeply to Laurel for a few seconds, "Nice to meet you, Laurel-san."
Laurel then stood up and shook his right hand instead of bowing. "Nice to meet you, too, Roxas-kun."
He then handed him a business card. "Here's my business card."
Roxas was confused by it but accepted it anyway, before reading the card.
Then, he was shocked to read that Laurel was the owner of a news outlet known as Saki Neko News. "No way! But, you're a college student, right?"
His mother looked at it and was stunned as well.
Laurel smiled and explained, "Well, I am a college student, indeed, but I managed a company in my free time."
Roxas then calms down gradually. "Okay then, so let me guess, you're here to hire me."
"Yes, so you could be a part-time undercover journalist."
Roxas was surprised to hear that because he remembered the time he expressed to the goddess of reincarnation that he wanted to be a journalist to his favorite characters.
So, he readily accepted it. "Yes, sure!"
Rosas was concerned about it, so she expressed her worries about her son having that type of part-time job.
But Laurel assured her that the tasks he would be giving to Roxas were "special".
Hearing the last word, Roxas was puzzled. "What do you mean by that, Laurel-san?"
"You'll see," Laurel replied back.
"Okay then."
A bit later, Laurel took Roxas to his news outlet in downtown Minato City, with Rosas' permission, of course. There Roxas was amazed at the operations in a rented space in a huge building. "Woah…" Some hosts are doing their jobs broadcasting the latest news at the moment while others do their roles in keeping the outlet and live news well-maintained and good. As they walked together across the floor, Laurel explained to him the operations of his news outlet. His news outlet is unlike a typical news outlet: it was a news outlet that sends undercover journalists to various countries, and that news outlet committed to bias-free news media.
"Wow…" Roxas commented in amazement.
Then, they arrived at Laurel's office.
"Let's have a little job interview," Laurel said to him, "but don't worry about the job resume. I'll take note about yourself and use that information to fill out your resume. Also, you don't need to do the formal way of introducing yourself. I don't require it at all."
Roxas agreed, and he sat down on a chair. Laurel then sat on his ergonomic chair behind his desk. And so, the job interview had begun.
"Okay, first off, what is your name?" he asked Roxas.
"My name is Roxas Taka Barrio-Hamasaki," Roxas briefly and casually. "My friends often called me Ro-kun."
"Okay then. How old are you?"
"I am 16 years old."
"Alright, where do you live?"
"I am from Kaibara."
"Good, what grade you will be in?"
"I'll be a sophomore in high school."
"I see. What is your nationality?"
"I am a Filipino, but by ethnicity, I am a half-Japanese, half-Filipino. My father is a Japanese, and my mother is a Filipino."
"Okay then. What are your hobbies?"
"My favorite hobbies are writing stories, researching various topics, playing games, reading books, cooking, and playing the guitar."
"Nice one. Do you know any basic knowledge of being a journalist? If not, I'll teach you how to do it."
"Well, Laurel-san…"
Roxas was now conflicted on whether he should tell him his past life or not.
