"Oh God, we're done for now," Lukas whispered.
I looked at him in surprise. Of all the things, I wasn't expecting him to say that.
"Are you giving up? Just like that?"
"Well, do you have any other ideas?" He shot back. He suddenly clutched his stomach and groaned. "I think I'm gonna throw up."
I grimaced. But looking at the starch white curtain around us, something clicked in my mind. "Actually, I do have an idea."

"Okay... are you ready?"
Lukas was positioned next to the stairs. He gave me a thumbs up.
I took a deep breath and began to climb the stairs. This had to work. Because there was no Plan B at this point.
Once I was at the top, I peered cautiously into the living room. To my relief, there was only one guy, bald, and dressed in a black banker suit. Baldy was talking, no, grumbling to someone on his phone as he paced the room.
"Hey Baldy, over here!"
As soon as he saw me, he turned and began to run towards me. "Stay where you are!"
