After Oz's flashy transformation, Both he and Dumbledore went back into the castle to Dumbledore's office.
Dumbledore explained that he wanted to give Oz the run down on what to do now as an Animagus and what to look out for. Oz noted everything the man was saying but didn't take it to heart.
"Tomorrow Oz ill give you a leave of absence... You're to head to the ministry and register as a Dragon Animagus. Being a Dragon as an Animagus, this is an especially important step as if you're not registered, wizards may attack if they see you flying thinking you are a wild escaped dragon...".
When Oz heard this line of reasoning, he felt a bit annoyed. Personally, Oz likes to try and keep a lot of his cards close to his chest, however sometimes situations like this arise where it'd be better in the long run to just suck it up and stick to being 'legal'.
As Oz was registering all this, one of the headmaster portraits in the back yelled out.
"A DRAGON ANIMAGUS?! Such a thing should be impossible! That boy must be some kind of beast! Why when I was younger I wo-".
Midway through the speech from the portrait, Dumbledore casted a spell that silenced it. Looking at this Oz saw his chance to ask his dear master a question for once.
"Dumbledore... What spell was that just now? I knew you had portraits in your office and always thought it must be annoying to keep track of them. Is there even spells that deal with portraits?".
Dumbledore looked down to Oz and smiled.
"Most headmasters get notified about spells to do with portraits when they get the post... after all it does get tiring listening to these predecessors babble from time to time. Such spells aren't exactly a secret though... Here let me demonstrate real quick".
Dumbledore walked up to the portrait of the headmaster that had begun monologing before he silenced him, ushering Oz along to follow him to it.
"The spell I used wandlessly to silence this portrait was 'Silencio effigies'. As you should know, 'Silencio' is a spell that can silence people, however adding 'effigies' on the end specifically makes it catered towards portraits".
Oz listened intently to Dumbledore explain, he knew that this information would be crucial to lock Salazar in place eventually to get rid of him.
"The next spell you can use to lock a portraits position so they cant leave is 'Colloportus effigies'. 'Colloportus' here is a spell that locks things and directing it at a portrait makes it so that the portrait is locked away from the network of portraits it can go to...".
Hearing all this, Oz felt a grin slowly come onto his face. With this information he would definitely be able to lock down Salazar and get rid of him and his blight. Oz felt the need to ask Dumbledore one last question however.
"Is it possible for a portrait to break the lock and silence themselves?".
Dumbledore looked at Oz before shaking his head.
"No that would be impossible for them... While some portraits housing more powerful wizards or witches can emanate and control magic in the surroundings, sometimes even using it to attack those present at their portrait in incredibly rare cases, its impossible for them to dispel spells".
Hearing this last bit of information made Oz incredibly joyful. The one thing he worried about the most was that Salazar had some kind of control over magic in that room even whilst being a portrait. Hearing this information however, it became clear to Oz now that he could only control magic and use it preliminarily, he wouldn't be able to dispel any of Oz's spells directed at the portrait itself.
Looking at Oz who was deep in thought, Dumbledore continued.
"Well now Oz its probably best you head back to your dorm. You have an early start tomorrow with heading to the ministry and all".
Oz looked up to Dumbledore and gave him a nod. Dumbledore froze a bit looking at Oz again before smiling and ushering him off back to his room after an eventful night. As Oz left, A lone headmaster was left in deep thought...

<Dumbledore's POV>
Before we even did the Animagus ritual I had a feeling deep down his form would be a dragon, but actually seeing it was an incredible spectacle...
At first I sensed that his form was supposed to be something normal, something weaker. However mid-way through his ingestion of the potion his bloodline started to respond powerfully. This must have happened to him as well in some shape or form as he casted his Patronus.
That bloodline evoked an incredible aura... It was strong enough that it even knocked me back a bit when it activated. Most witch and wizard bloodlines would never do that... not ever. Usually when connected to an old bloodline you would only inherit its talent and maybe some skills but Merlin's bloodline seems like a completely different story.
His bloodline must have awoken first with his Patronus and then again fully with this transformation, completely changing him from the inside out. Those eyes of his... they changed from a blue to a powerful domineering purple that even made me shudder looking at them. Merlin was always known to be heavily connected to dragons but after seeing this course of events...
I heaved a heavy sigh and looked out towards the quidditch pitch.
That man might have even been part-dragon himself...
,
As Oz arrived back at his room, he took some time to go over what had just happened in Dumbledore's office.
'So with the information Dumbledore has given me I should now be able to lock away Salazar and silence him for good... thank god for that'.
Oz felt another weight lift off him now. Although the Marauders map he made allowed him to track the old snake, he couldn't actually capture him. However with the information he had now learned, now he could.
Letting off a relieved sigh, Oz took a moment to feel the changes within his body.
'An Animagus transformation shouldn't do this to a witch or wizard surely... was it because of Merlin's bloodline activating that these changes have happened?'.
Midway through the transformation Oz had felt his bloodline activate powerfully, emanating a powerful force from it. At first Oz didn't think much of this, however when he transformed back to a human form he noticed instant changes in his physique.
He was slightly taller now, his physical and magical strength had increased a bit as well. All of this was a nice boost but the most important boost was...
'My eyes... I can sense and see magic flow easier now...'.
Walking over to a mirror Oz took a good look at himself for the first time in a while. He still had his ruffled dark hair however now that hair seemed to have a slight lustre to it. His face was average still, however his eyes offset that averageness and made him look more mystical than anything due to their powerful purple colour.
'If this happens just from an Animagus transformation... what the hells going to happen after the Ambrosius ritual, when thats finished?'.
Seeing all these changes Oz realised again how important the Ambrosius ritual must be for future growth. If an Animagus form of a dragon could give him boosts in quite a few areas like so purely due to his bloodline fully activating, then what would happen when he absorbed materials from all sorts of beasts...
What could Oz become then?

A/N - This chapter was almost called 'I'm tired of these mf snakes in my mf Hogwarts'. Also another note, I couldnt personally find any spells that were specific to silencing portraits so I made them up myself, essentially combining spells that already existed with the Latin word for portrait (effigies).
Next chapter is the Ministry of Magic. Any ideas on who Oz might see there and run into?
While its never fully explained in the canon, im pretty sure magical beast animagus are either incredibly rare or impossible. However I wanted to add this kind of animagus for many reasons.
So I decided to tie it in with his bloodline and Merlin as a whole. After all Merlin as we all know is heavily connected to dragons, so when Oz was starting to transform his bloodline hijacked the transformation and awoke completely giving him dragon like features and a dragon animagus form.
