CHAPTER 28

"Who will win? The newest rookie of the guild, Enzo Lockhart, or the A-rank wizard of the Fairy Tail, Laxus Dreyar. Place your bets right here", a man said to the gathering crowd.

"10,000 Jewels to Laxus! No way the rookie can win!"

"7,000 Jewels on Laxus!"

"3.000 Jewels on Laxus!"

"8,000 Jewels on the rookie! If I win then I'll get serious cash! hahhahahha"

Right now the entire members of Fairy Tail are gathered in the back of the guild as each and every one of them were excited to see the match between Enzo and Laxus. Even Master Makarov and Gildarts were also watching the upcoming fight with interest.

"Is he powerful, Gildarts?", Makarov asked the man that was standing beside him.

"I only felt the magical aura that was radiating out of him. I never actually seen him fight, but based on the aura alone, I believe he is a decently powerful mage", Gildarts said as he drank his beer.

"hmmmm...I see", Makarov said. He looks at the little girl that was standing on his other side with a warm smile on his face.

"GO, ENZO!", Kagura shouted with everything she got.

In the middle of the field, two men were standing a few meters from one another. Laxus who had an annoyed and smug look on his face, the blonde man had his hands placed on his pockets. While Enzo was showing a calm cold look on his face. Both individuals were radiating confidence, they both believe that they were stronger than the other.

"Show me what you got rookie. I haven't got all day", Laxus said with annoyance.

"Don't worry, you won't last long anyway", Enzo said with a smirk. Laxus nearly had one of his veins pop due to the annoyance of hearing such a response. For Enzo to basically say that he was weakling made Laxus pissed.

"Fine, I'll go first", Laxus said as his body began to be covered with electricity. Then in an instant Laxus transforms his body into lighting and appeared in from of Enzo. With a smirk on his face, Laxus said, "Well see if you can survive this". Laxus engulfs one of his fists in lightning and he shouted;

"Lightning Dragon's Iron Fist!"

"BANG!"

Laxus punch produced a powerful enough light that the eyes of the onlookers could not see what happen. Only Gildarts and Master Makarov were the two individuals that did not cover their eyes while the rest subconsciously covered their eyes due to the powerful yellowish glow.

"Laxus wins! No way the rookie can take that attack head-on!" an onlooker said as he thought that he already has some cash to collect from winning the bet.

As the glow subsided the onlookers were shocked. In the middle of the battlefield, the fist of Laxus was stopped by the palm of the hand of Enzo.

"Is that all you got, sparky?", Enzo asked Laxus in a mocking tone.

Laxus became even angrier and he covered his entire body with lighting and attack Enzo in close-quarters. With every punch and kick that Laxus delivered Enzo just dodge them all with incredible ease.

"His more than decent. Enzo is toying with Laxus. Basing on how easy Enzo dodges his attack, the man is more experienced than Laxus", Makarov commented.

"hahahahaha. Looks like Laxus has found himself in a tough bind", Gildarts said.

"Is that all you got? Seriously from all the smugness that was coming from you, I thought that you would be more than this. Such as shame really", Enzo said as he delivered a powerful punch on the face of Laxus causing him to be propelled on the edge of the training ground.

"What the?", Laxus said with bewilderment as he saw an ice patch forming in his cheek, it was the same spot that Enzo just hit a while ago. He channels electricity on it and he realized that the frozen patch was absorbing his lighting making it expand. He promptly stops doing it due to fear of what will happen.

"What type of magic is this?", Laxus asked Enzo.

Enzo who saw the ice patch from Laxus's face was also curious at what his ability did. In his previous world, his ability fed on Haki, in order to remove it you just needed to feed enough haki and it will automatically disappear. But based on what he saw on Laxus's face, his power can no longer be removed, it continued to feed on Laxus's energy which makes it expand quicker. It seems like the energy on his body changed some key aspects of his power. This change is something he wholeheartedly welcomes.

'This requires more study', Enzo thought.

Enzo then decided to attack, in a burst of speed he kicks the ground multiple times which caused him to appear immediately in front of Laxus. He cocked his right arm hand and delivered a powerful punch in the stomach of Laxus.

"IRON SMASH PUCNH!

"AH!", Laxus who wasn't able to see the attack was hit directly by it and it caused him to release saliva from his mouth. Similarly to want to happen to his cheek, on Laxu's stomach an ice patch began to appear, it was also absorbing the ethernano on Laxus's body, be it slow. Only when he actively channels high amounts of ethernano will the ice patch expand quicker.

"Did you see that?", Makarov asked Gildarts.

"Yeah, most people would not have seen that but he kicked the ground at least 12 times to propelled himself. I wonder where he learned that?", Gildarts said with interest.

As the fight continued Enzo realized something, his power level probably fell by a level due to his de-aged body but the energy that was flowing throw him is able to strengthen his body. This was done even if he wasn't in his zoan form.

Suddenly on the far end of the training ground, two kids could be seen arriving and both of them were both wondering what was going on.
