Supernatural Inside The City

"Where do we start?" Rainn mumbled while wearing his black jacket. Then he grabbed his hat and headed outside after locking his iron rusted door.

This day is particularly hot. Although some clouds can be seen gathering in the distance. Rainn kinda hates this atmosphere.

He walking on the streets trying to figure out his next move. He has never been an intelligent person but now he has to investigate something. It's gonna become a problem.

The victim is a noble. Even more, he is from such a very influential house. What could possibly kill him?

Then, the two holes in his neck. What weapon could do that?

And, his blood is sucked dry.

'Wait? Sucked dry?' Rainn suddenly stopped when he realized that something was off.

How can the murderer do that? How is someone capable of draining someone else's blood in a short time?

Except, it's not SOMEONE but SOMETHING!

Rainn started walking again. He still didn't know where he heading. But Rainn keeps walking so his head can think properly.

[ Daily quest updated! ]

Rainn startled. He looks at the translucent text in front of him with slight annoyance.

Rainn sighed, "What now?"

[ Daily quest: Kill the local supernatural creature ]

[ Time limit: 3 hours ]

[ Reward: 50 Exp ]

Rainn's eyebrows curved sharply. 'What?!' he thought. 'What does that mean?"

'It means there are supernatural creatures around here that you have to kill.' Tuts' voice was suddenly heard after keep silence for too long.

'What do you mean? There are supernatural creatures inside the city?' asked Rainn. Feeling disturbed by the fact.

'It seems so. Anyway, Systema will show you where the supernatural is. Follow its instructions.'

'But how can supernatural enter this city wall?!'

'Some supernatural can transform themself and be disguised as a human.' Tut answered simply.

[ Go to a small restaurant called The Antler ]

A map appeared abruptly. A red line marks the road that goes to the north. Rainn maybe not be smart but he knows that he should follow this marking.

So he does. Despite still being bothered by the fact that there is a supernatural creature inside this city, Rainn will just do the daily quest and see how it's going. After all, the quest will give him so many Exp. He maybe can level up again this day.

After all, he already got a new skill from his level up earlier.

Rainn follows the marking for half an hour walking until finally reach the destination. There's a small restaurant beside the river. The name "The Antler" was seen above the main door.

Rainn stepped inside. The restaurant is not too crowded. It is relatively quiet.

"Good afternoon! How may I help you?" A friendly voice from a friendly-looking man came from behind the counter.

He smiled and walked towards Rainn.

"Please take a seat," the man said.

Rainn takes a seat. While looking at the man with clear suspicion on his face.

"What's the matter?" Asked the man.

"No. Nothing. Can I talk to you for a second?" Rainn replied.

He already uses the [ ultimate instinct (lv2) ] skill when he entered this restaurant. So Rainn knew that this man was the target for his daily quest.

The man's face changed abruptly. He looked at Rainn with a cautious look then seating in front of him.

"Yes?" Asked the man. His right-hand goes under the desk.

"I don't mean to bother your business, but I think you shouldn't be here. I the city, I mean," Rainn said.

The man pursed his lips, "And why is that?"

Rainn smiles at him. But a smile that came from Rainn's mouth is never a sweet one.

"Because you are a fucking supernatural," Rainn answered with a soft voice.

The man was silent for a moment.

Rainn's [ ultimate instinct (lv.2) ] is still activated because he expected the man would attack him anytime soon. And his prediction was right.

The man flipped the desk and attack Rainn with arms that have turned into some kind of huge spider legs.

Rainn has been able to dodge and roll away because of his [ ultimate instinct (lv.2) ].

Then he sees the man thrust his spider arm at Rainn. But Rainn activated the new Skill he had acquired before.

[ Skill activated: Shield (lv.1) ]

A transparent blue energy shield appeared as Rainn stretched out his arms and blocked the man's attack. Blue sparks appear when the spider's legs hit his energy shield.

The man looked at Rainn in surprise. But Rainn immediately took the opportunity by using his skill again.

[ Skill activated: pyrokinesis (lv.3) ]

A fire burned in Rainn's other hand. Then he threw a fireball at the man.

Didn't expect such an attack to come. The man screamed as he received Rainn's fireball and was thrown backward against the wall.

The fire that was in his body began to spread to the area around him. The man removed the outer shell that he had disguised as a human. Then the man's true form appeared.

It was a spider-like creature with eight legs. Its lower body is that of a spider while its upper half is that of a human. His face was the face of that man. But with long, messy hair.

Rainn's eyes widened when he saw his true form. Jorogumo is a supernatural being in the form of a half spider half-human.

Rainn had only heard of the creature. But never actually saw it in person. He didn't know that the creature will be this terrifying.

The Jorogumo hissed, baring his teeth. Then it opened its mouth to throw a red-colored web.

[ Skill activated: Shield (lv.1) ]

Rainn reactivated his shield. However, the net went straight through his shield and trapped Rainn's body.

Rainn fell over to the restaurant floor. His whole body felt weak and he is unable to move.

The Jorogumo drew closer to him. The movement of his legs as he walked made Rainn feel more terrified.

"You should just enjoy your lunch, boy!" Said the Jorogumo.

Rainn felt his body being lifted and carried from there. Before finally, his consciousness disappeared completely.

Rainn opened his eyes. He looked around and realized that he is hanging upside down.

He is inside a concrete room. This room is not empty. There is a desk full of blood there. The stench of blood and rotten meat is one of the reasons Rainn woke up.

He is now regretting his decision. Why did he just walk and strike the supernatural inside his own house without proper preparation?

Just because he got a new power, Rainn becomes reckless. And now he has to pay for it.

He heard the sound of a spider's legs walking down behind him. Rainn feel his heart beat faster.

'Shit, he's coming.'
