In the heat of the battle, when it was at its climax, Tristan's mind could not help but reflect on his life and what had led him to this moment.

Tristan was not an ambitious individual, or at least he was that way throughout his life until now. He remembered his youthful days when he saw that brash and overzealous sister of his, Ophelia, brandish his sword in the courtyard of their family home in the Vallen principality of the Elvira Kingdom.

Compared to that go-getter attitude of hers, he preferred reading books or growing plants during leisure and among the warrior-like members of the family, he was deemed as weak. Many laughed at him before scurrying away in fright after Ophelia taught them a lesson.
