The Soldier in MHA

[Description]: A common (patriot) joe from our world died as a true American… during a mass shooting in his building. He wakes up in an unknown world, where people have weird powers called ‘Quirks’ and women go around wearing spandex fighting crime… and why can he pull a rocket launcher out of his arse, and why it is so familiar? Time to show these maggots what a true soldier is. -=- I will not accept reviews that literally have nothing about the fanfic such as emoji spams, or lines with a single word copy pasted again and again, Exp sect, other languagues and not english (If you can read in english, you can write in english) nor baseless offense without any reason or justification. God, does it annoy me when I want an honest review and there is just toxicity and emojis. Regardless if you give me 5 or 1 stars. That’s the law. -=- Also an additional thanks to the creator of "Star Platinum in MHA", who through his fanfic gave me the key on a very important aspect of this fanfic. First Day and First Test

"----" Speech

'----' Thought

(----) Thought in the middle of a sentence.

(3rd Person Pov)

At Takoba Municipal Beach Park, two figures can be seen at night alone. A long-blond skeleton and a greenette running towards the former.

'The night after I opened my acceptance letter, that person contacted me.' Izuku thought as he reached his mentor.

"All Might!" He yelled towards the hero.

All Might sprayed a cup of blood at the shout. "PFFFF Who's that?!" Yagi said, disguising his identity.

"All Might?" "No way! Where?" A couple exclaimed at the beach's sightseeing harbor deck, giving a shiver to Toshinori.

"Repeat after me. 'I had the wrong person'." He whispered to his apprentice. [1]

"Oh, I-I had the wrong person!" Izuku yelled while moving his arms erratically.

"—Aw, what?" "—I was hoping to see him." The couple replied disappointed, gaining a relieved sigh from both of them.

All Might raised his hand for a high-five. "Congrats on getting accepted."

"Th-Th-Thank you very much!" He high-fived the No.1 Hero.

Toshinori was about to continue his talk with his pupil when he heard a faint voice. It was strangely becoming louder as if it was coming towards him…

"… yagi…! YAGI YOU BASTARD!" A person appeared out of nowhere and threw a fist straight towards him!

The hero immediately buffed into his hero form to block the punch. "Young Rick! What are you doing?!" He said to his attacker.

The soldier continued to punch him as he blocked them. "You made Pony cry, you dramatic bastard!" The helmet boy yelled as he resumed his assault.

"I apologize! I promise I didn't expect that to happen!" He admitted, putting a stop to the fight.

Rick looked to the hero, "Fine. But you owe me one."

"… Okay." Yagi accepted, a bit reluctant.

"—Wait, is that All Might?!" "—No way! When did he get here?!" The couple, which was still at the harbor, shouted, getting a groan from the hero.

"Let's go, Young Midoriya! Young Rick!" All Might jogged away from the couple, Izuku and Rick followed behind, getting a few snarky remarks from the latter about him being crap in hiding his identity.

As they ran, All Might carried on with his previous talk to Izuku, saying how he was not one of the judges, since Izuku was the type to worry about that. Izuku replied by stating how he can't control OFA at 100%, gaining consolation from his predecessor with a bunch of examples, too annoying for the author to write or Rick to care.

(Rick's Pov)

I equipped my 'U.A. Uniform' set of clothes from my inventory, making them appear on me instantly, getting an annoyed *Tsk!* from Nemuri, much to my delight.

"That ability is so cheap!" Midnight complained about my superior power as I finished my bowl of Crunch Berries cereal, arguably an S-tier in the cereal list.

My 'mom' looked over me, "Did you remember to pick everything up? Notebooks, all the other things."

I just stared at her, "You know I have an inventory, right? It's as easy as throwing everything there and that's it."

"Okay, sheesh! No need to be so grumpy, it's your first day at school!" She retorted as she also got ready to go since she works there.

God, I hope she won't be my teacher. That would s*ck, A LOT.

"Anyway, I'm going." I left the table and headed for my ride.

She followed me and yelled, "Goodbye, Rick! Have a good day at school!"

"Bye, Nemuri." I replied and started the engine. I still had to pick up both Pony and Izuku since I promised to give them a lift.

»»—-[☆]—-««

(3rd Person Pov – Midnight)

Nemuri stood there at the door, watching her son drive away.

"… He still won't call me mom." Midnight sighed as she recalled the year Rick stayed with her.

From the beginning, he was angry at her. A cold type of anger, that rarely burst out, but was still there. He has gotten calmer since he met that green-haired boy, and even more after he got that girlfriend of his.

She also learned quite a few things about him.

He was still not over his dad's death, even if she knew he would never admit it. The signs were all there, how he sometimes stared at the ceiling, for no reason.

Rick was also very… straightforward. He didn't mince his words (though she could feel his effort to not say some stuff at her). He didn't care about the consequences at all, it was the 'either do it or not' type of thinking.

A bit extreme for her liking. But what could she do? She had an entire life raised not by her, and she knew he would not accept a change, especially since it probably came from his dad.

Her son was a simple-minded guy, even though oddly observant. He didn't really think things through, leading to some weird situations. But was able to pick up clues like a detective. She couldn't even try to do something without him noticing, which ruined many of her tries at bonding with him since he knew what she was trying to do.

He also didn't like seeing her as a mother, and any acts similar to one pissed him off. He didn't believe her. That she changed. That she regretted everything back in the past. Or maybe he did but didn't want to accept it. There were just too many negative feelings to go through.

Midnight stared at her son's car leaving, a million thoughts going through her mind.

But she had a class to teach.

She went to her own car and left.

(3rd Person Pov - Rick)

Rick drove towards U.A. with his girlfriend on the front seat next to him, and his bro on the back seat.

"I still can't believe we got accepted in U.A." Pony said as she stared at the massive 'H' shaped building in the distance.

"Yeah, the acceptance rate for U.A. High's school hero course is less than one in three hundred every year! Minus the other four people admitted through recommendations, 36 are admitted through the regular exam. All regular and recommendation students are split into only two classes, 1-A and 1-B, twenty students each." The greenette wasted no time to give his long fanboy speech.

Rick put a hand on his chin and noted, "So there are only four recommendation students, huh."

"What about it?" His girlfriend asked him.

"It's nothing. I just received one from Nemuri, but I refused." He revealed.

"Why would you refuse it? People would die to get one!" The mare-girl yelled, Izuku nodding to her in agreement.

"Because I don't need it. Besides, it was a good way of pissing her off." The helmet-boy grinned.

"Why do I have the feeling the real reason was the latter one?" She narrowed her eyes at him.

Rick stared at the road, and dodged further interrogation with a question, "It's your imagination. By the way, which classes are you all in? I'm in 1-A."

"I'm in 1-A too!" Izuku beamed at the info. Rick raised his hand and they high-fived. "Nice. And you, Pony?" The soldier asked.

"… I'm in 1-B." She mumbled, disappointed at reality.

Rick put a hand on her shoulder, "Relax, Pony. This is nothing. We are both going to the same school, and being in the hero course, we are probably going to see each other a lot. And there is always lunchtime." He comforted his girlfriend.

"R-Rick is right. It's too early to be sad. We are going to U.A.!" Izuku tried to cheer her up.

Pony gave a soft smile at them, "Yeah, you are right. Let's go to U.A.!" She raised her hand to the sky and declared.

"That's the spirit!" The army boy said.

They arrived at U.A.'s gate, where Rick parked his Cadillac close to. They entered the building and Pony went separate ways from the two boys, trying to find her classroom.

The boys jogged through the corridors, until they found a huge-ass wood door, with a 1-A painted on it.

"The door's huge!" Izuku exclaimed. It was almost 4 times his height! "Is it for accessibility…?" He wondered.

"I've seen bigger." Rick remembered the good old days at J.A.M.S. "Let's go!" He opened it and rushed inside.

"Don't put your feet on the desk!" A blue-haired guy with glasses complained to an ash-haired one with his feet over the desk, and his uniform messed like a delinquent. Rick had a faint feeling he knew them.

"Huh?" The delinquent replied with a smug smile.

"Don't you think that's rude to the U.A. upperclassmen and the people who made the desk?" The glasses furrowed his eyebrows while pointing one hand at the said desk and extending his other one like a lawyer wanna-be.

"Nope. What junior high did you go to, you side character?" The other asked in a hoarse voice.

Izuku sweatdropped at his luck. His bully and the guy who embarrassed him in public.

The bluenette put a hand on his chest, "I attended Somei Private Academy. My name is Tenya Iida."

"Somei? So you're a damn elite, huh? Looks like I'll have fun crushing you."

"'Crushing'? That's cruel. Do you truly aim to be a hero?" He gasped at such 'barbarity'.

Bakugo scoffed and looked to the side, his eyes meeting the two on the door, Iida following his gaze.

"You're…" Iida said seeing Izuku, recognizing him.

The entire class turned towards the duo. Izuku blushed and looked up, dodging the eyes of his classmates.

"O-Oh, um…" The greenette tried to cope with the situation.

Whispers ran through the seats. Some recognizing Izuku from crushing the 0-pointer, others Rick from blasting the giant robot.

Iida marched towards them and introduced himself, "Good morning! I am from Somei Private A-"

"—I heard!" Izuku interrupted.

"I'm Midoriya. Nice to meet you, Iida."

"Midoriya, you realized there was something more to that practical exam, didn't you?" The glasses student inquired.

"uh?" The [OFA] user gasped in confusion.

"I had no idea… I misjudged you. I hate to admit, but you are better than me." Iida turned his head to the side and clenched his face.

'Sorry, I actually didn't realize anything.' Izuku thought as he saw the scene before him.

"Oh, that curly hair! You're the plain-looking one!" A brunette with permanent blushes on her cheeks appeared behind Izuku and Rick.

"PFFFFTTT HAHAHA!" Rick broke like a fountain at such declaration, clenching his stomach in an attempt to restrain it, and failing miserably. Everyone looked at the helmet-wearing guy.

"Bro, to have someone remember you because of how plain you are… I don't know if I should pity or be impressed by you." He admitted.

The girl looked to him for a moment, before realizing, "Ah, you are that guy beside him before the exam."

"Yep. And you are the one who saved my friend's face from meeting the ground." Rick extended a hand in greeting.

She took it and said, "It was nothing. He saved me from the big robot back in the practical exam." The brunette turned and faced Izuku. "Your punch was amazing! Break! Break!" She motioned with her hand up and down, an adorable imitation of what (probably) Midoriya looked like.

Izuku blushed a storm and covered his face with a hand while scratching the back of his head with the other, "Oh, well, um, it was thanks to you going to speak with Present Mic directly that I, uh…"

"Huh? How did you about that?" The girl asked.

"Oh, uh, that's because of the hologram projector that, uh… they showed me you saying all that stuff…" The boy clarified.

"Sorry to interrupt here, but I noticed how we forgot introductions here." Rick barged in the conversation. "I'm Rick May, and you are the 'nice person' my friend here told me about. What's your name?"

"Oh! My bad. I'm Ochako Uraraka. And you, what's your name?" She asked the greenette.

"I-I'm Izuku Midoriya. N-Nice to meet you. T-Thank you for saving me twice." He mumbled back.

"It was nothing, really! Anyone would've-"

"Go somewhere else if you want to play at being friends." A low voice came from behind the group, which turned and froze at the sight.

It was a caterpillar-like yellow sleeping back, with a head poking through a hole. The person looked like a beggar with sleep deprivation.

"This is the hero course." He picked a juice pack and drank it.

'Something's here?!' Iida, Ochako, and Izuku thought in unison, except Rick who recognized the person from the pictures hang from his house's walls. 'Shota Aizawa, one of Nemuri BFF, huh.'

"Okay, it took eight seconds before you were quiet." He got up and out of the sleeping bag. "Time is limited. You kids are not rational enough."

Izuku realized the person in front of them was a teacher but struggled to recognize him despite his enormous knowledge of heroes.

"I'm your homeroom teacher, Shota Aizawa. Nice to meet you." He introduced himself, drawing surprised gasps from everyone in the room.

"It's kind of sudden, but put this on and go out onto the field." He showed a blue cloth with white and red stripes from his sleeping bag.

"The dressing room is on the floor below, fist right. After that, leave to the open field right in front of the room." He said and left the room, giving one last glance at the frozen class.

What are you all waiting for? Time is ticking."

The students rushed to the dressing room, divided by sex.

As Rick and Izuku put on the clothes, or in Rick's case, just equipping it, drawing some 'woah, that's pretty convenient quirk' and some 'Cheat coding bastard' from the boys, the soldier said to his friend.

"Damn, bro. I leave you for less than an hour and you are already saving damsels in distress and becoming the popular guy. I already miss the days when you had no friends." Rick said in fake tears and a smile like a dad realizing how fast his children grow.

The greenette could not help but blush in embarrassment.

All dressed, they went to a big dirt field, with white marks all over it, clearly made to test people, to meet their teacher.

"A Quirk Assessment Test?!" All 1-A students said simultaneously.

"What about the entrance ceremony? The orientation?" Ochako questioned.

"If you're going to become a hero, you don't have time for such leisurely events." He replied, drawing a tear from the student-soldier, who had flashbacks from the good old days at J.A.M.S.

The beggars spared them a look, "U.A.'s selling point is how unrestricted its school traditions are. That's also how the teachers run their classes."

"You kids have been doing these since junior high, too, right?" He picked his phone and showed a bunch of data. "Physical fitness tests where you weren't allowed to use your Quirks."

Rick was a bit confused. At J.A.M.S., it wasn't like that. He assumed it was the same for everyone since it was a bit silly for him for a fitness test with no use of Quirks. He guessed wrong, it seems.

"The country still uses averages taken from results from students not using their Quirks. It's not rational. Well, the Ministry of Education is procrastinating."

The teacher looked to the helmet boy, "Rick, you finished at the top of the practical exam, right?"

"SIR, YES SIR!" The boy exclaimed in reflex. Years of muscle and mind memory are ingrained in him. He got more than one weird look from his classmates. Aizawa just raised an eyebrow but continued anyway. Being a teacher at U.A., he had his fair share of weird stuff.

"In J.A.M.S., what was your best result for the softball throw?"

"275 meters." Rick said, getting some amazed looks from everyone. That was far, an impressive feat when not using Quirks.

"Then, try doing it with your Quirk." Shota gave him the ball and Rick went to the softball circle.

"You can do whatever you want as long as you stay in the circle. Hurry up. Give it all you've got."

Rick looked at the white ball in his hands.

»»—-[☆]—-««

(Rick's Pov)

How can I use my weapons to throw this ball farther than ever? Just using duct tape to glue it to a rocket doesn't seem very impressive…

Hmm… Aha!

I summoned my [Rocket Jumper] in one hand the [Air Strike] in the other, getting some murmurs from the crowd. Heh, if they are already surprised by this, I can't wait to see what they'll do after this!

I rocket jumped as high as I could and equipped the [B.A.S.E. Jumper] parachute just before losing my upward momentum.

Firing the entire clip of my [Air Strike] towards the horizon, using its special ability to fire rapidly in mid-air, I created a line of 4 rockets.

I summoned my [Direct Hit] and pulled a duct tape from my [Inventory], gluing the ball to a rocket, and loaded it into the R-Launcher.

I fired the ball-rocket right towards the previous line of rockets, which were quite far away already. But with the 80% faster rocket speed of [Direct Hit], it quickly caught up to them and hit the first rocket.

BO-BO-BO-BOOOM!

All the rockets exploded in a chain reaction, launching the ball even farther and higher in the air, leaving a trail of smoke in the sky. Success!

I unequipped my parachute to fall back to earth, equipping it back again just before hitting the ground to stop my velocity.

"Know your maximum first." Aizawa said while showing all the students his phone with a '1506.3m'. "That is the most rational way to form the foundation of a hero."

All students released a shout in awe.

"1506 meters? Seriously?" A boy with yellow hair with a black zig-zag said.

"What is this? It looks fun!" A pink girl spoke excitedly.

"We can use our Quirks as much as we want! As expected of the hero course!" A boy with weird circle things in his elbows replied.

The teacher just stared at us, "'It looks fun', huh?"

"You have three years to become a hero. Will you have an attitude like that the whole time?"

The class listened in total silence. He continued.

"All right. Whoever comes in last place in all eight tests will be judged to have no potential, and will be punished with expulsion."

"""HUH?!""" All students said in unison, except me, who was drowning in nostalgia from J.A.M.S. memories. It was just like before, minus Sergeant James screaming. Sniff… Good times.

It seems I completely misjudged U.A., I'm excited to see the end of this school!

"We're free to do to whatever we want about the circumstances of our students." He put a hand in his hair, showing his sadistic smile.

"Welcome to U.A.'s hero course!"

"Let's go!" I yelled my excitement to the world, but unfairly got looks like I was mental. Winny weak maggots!

"Last place will be expelled? But it's the first day of school! No, even if it wasn't the first day of school, this is too unfair!" Ochako voiced her opinion. She's too innocent for her own good…

"Natural disasters, big accidents, and selfish villains. Calamities whose tie or place can't be predicted. Japan is covered with unfairness. Heroes are the ones who reverse those situations. If you wanted to go talk with your friends at Mickey D's after school, too bad. For the next three years, U.A. will do all it can to give you one hardship after another."

"Go beyond. Plus Ultra. Overcome it with all you've got."

It finally dawned on the maggots that this is not your traditional high school.

"All right, demonstration's over. The real thing starts now."

"[Test 1: 50-meters Dash]"

I got in line together with a guy with weird arm-like things glued to his normal arm, forming something like a wing? Whatever, I'm friends with a shark with legs and arms. Can't get weirder than that.

A robot with a camera started counting, "[On your marks… Get set… *Pa!*]"

I equipped my [Rocket Jumper] and exploded myself towards the finishing line.

"[1.98 seconds]… [5.60 seconds]"

I got first place in this test. But man, these students have some pretty dope Quirks. The arms-wing guy transformed his arms into hands and ran on four with them, much like an animal, and was pretty fast, even if a bit on the creepy side.

That Iida guy got engines on his calves, so yeah, he got second place after me.

Izuku used his [Full Cowl: 5%] and ran, getting 4th place, just behind that delinquent boy with an explosion Quirk.

Speaking of him…

"DEKU! YOU BASTARD! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!" The explosion boy yelled and rushed towards Izuku.

I was about to rush in to stop him, but pieces of grey cloth suddenly appeared and tied the boy in place, immobilizing him. His explosions oddly stopping too.

"What the--? These cloths are hard..!" The delinquent stated, his voice strained under the pressure.

"They're weapons for capture made of carbon fiber woven together with metal wire made of a special alloy." The beggar said, his hair spiking up and eyes glowing red, menacing stuff, not gonna lie.

Izuku stared at his teacher, having a sudden realization. "That scarf… those googles… I see! The underground hero that can erase other people's Quirks with your Quirk just by looking at them. The Erasure Hero: Eraser Head!"

The students started whispering about the revelation. So this guy can erase Quirks, huh? Pretty OP.

"Jeez… Don't make me use my Quirk. I have dry eye."

"""It's such a waste, since his Quirk is so amazing!""" Everyone voiced at the same time. What the hell? This is like the 3rd time this happened. Are we being brainwashed? [2]

Aizawa released the scarf and deactivated his Quirk, "We are wasting time. Whoever's next, get ready."

Izuku walked away, leaving the boy there, clearly pissed off. Who the hell is he anyway? I think Bro said he was a 'friend' before. What a friend he has…

"[Test 2: Grip Strength]"

We went to a big room with a wooden floor and were handed a dynamometer, those things to test grip strength.

I activated my [Crit Boost Mode: 5x] only in my hand while using [Tekkai] to clench all my hand's muscles tightly, gripping the thing with my all.

"1069.0 kg… nice."

Some people even asked me if I was a gorilla, together with the arms-guy. He got 540 kg. That's pretty strong, I kinda cheated with my [Crit Boost Mode].

I got the highest score again, except not. A chick with black hair and ponytail (and a body that hot damn) created a hydraulic press and put the dynamometer in it… yeah. She broke the thing and got the maximum score.

For the first time in my life, I met someone with a Quirk more convenient than mine…

"[Test 3: Standing Long Jump]"

I just rocket jumped past the sandbox.

A lot of people passed this test. Unfortunately, Izuku was not one of them. He almost got at the end, but it seems 5% is just too low. That Ochako girl just floated over the box, her Quirk is still a mystery to me. I haven't seen much of it. She used on her Quirk on her clothes and herself, and by Izuku, she saved him from falling to his death in the Entrance Exam. Maybe it was floating? [3]

"[Test 4: Repeated Side Steps]"

I just summoned two [Rocket Jumpers], one in each hand, and starting blasting right and left. I got first place again, even that creation chick couldn't come up with something to be faster than me. Ha!

That delinquent was pretty close to me though, but my years of training in the art of rocket jumping cannot be easily surpassed.

"[Test 5: Ball Throw]"

I already did it back at the beginning, so I just stood back and watched the show.

When Izuku was about to throw the ball Aizawa stopped him with his Quirk and scarf. He whispered something I didn't manage to hear. [4]

Izuku muttered something silently and threw the ball with power beyond his [Full Cowl]'s 5%, but weaker than his 100% punch. His arm was not purple either. When I looked closer I saw his finger in that purplish hue he gets after breaking his bones. So that's what he did. Broke his finger and not his arm. Neat.

Next, it was the explosion guy, who angrily shouted 'Die!' and exploded the ball towards the sky, still getting a lower score than me.

My score got beaten by that creation girl, who used a mother*cking cannon to launch the ball orbit. I hate her!

Ochako then casually got an infinity score after making the ball go to Narnia. Can she stop gravity? Hmm…

"[Test 6: Sit-Ups]"

The proudest aspect of the May's is our stamina, so I flexed hard on these kids. Aizawa had to tell me to stop. The glances and praises I got from my peers put a smile on my face. I may or may not had used [Tekkai] to flex even more by showing my 6-pack… heh.

"[Test 7: Seated Toe-Touch]"

I passed together with many others. It wasn't that hard if you were fit enough, much less if you had muscle control like me.

"[Test 8: Long-Distance Run]"

I got on a race against Iida, who has engines in his calves, and Momo, who made a f*cking high-speed motorbike.

I had to use the 'Rocket Hoping' technique. I basically rocket jumped without ever touching the ground or any surface by firing a rocket as soon as I was close to them, all the while increasing my speed and momentum.

That Iida guy had a slow start, later he picked up speed. I think he can't go full speed from the get-go. The creation girl was a close one, but at the end, I used two [Rocket Jumper] to increase my hoping even more, and then she used nitro and passed me…

Cheater! Where is the admin?! Nerf!

After all the fitness tests we gathered in front of our drill serg—I mean teacher.

"Okay, I'll quickly tell you the results. The total is simply the marks you got from each test. It's a waste of time to explain verbally, so I'll show you the results all at once."

He pressed his phone and a hologram burst out of it, with a ranking of all the students.

[Quirk Apprehension Test]:

| [Name] | [Rank] |

| Rick May | 1st |

And 1st place goes to the champion! I made America proud yet again.

"By the way, I was lying about the expulsion." The troll teacher said. Everyone staring at him wide-eyed.

"Thank God!" An invisible girl voiced in extreme relief, almost orgasmic. She was in the last place, and almost got expelled on the first day; Her butthole must be so tight not even wifi can pass through. Poor girl… not really. Pretty funny not gonna lie.

Aizawa grinned like the troll he is, "It was a rational deception to draw out the upper limits of your Quirks.

"""What?!""" The 1-A students yelled together yet again. Is this a Japanese thing? Are they have a hive mind? Yuck.

"Of course that was a lie. It should've been obvious if you just thought it through." The creation girl said. By her wins she was probably second place, so her name must be Momo.

The class looked at her and sweatdropped, 'I didn't notice.'

This girl… let's throw her out of her high horse, shall we?

"Oi, Sensei. Did you ever expel someone on the first day?" I raised my hand and asked.

Eraser Head just gave me a glance and gave me a smile, which terrorized the whole 1-A.

"That was a little nerve-wracking, huh?" The weird elbow guy said.

"I'll take up the challenge anytime!" A spiky red-haired maggot replied, pumping his fist up.

"With that, we're done here. There are handouts with the curriculum and such in the classroom, so when you get back, look over them." The teacher said and proceeded to talk with Izuku.

"Midoriya. Have the old lady fix you in the nurse's office. Tomorrow will be packed with even more rigorous tests. Prepare yourself." He handed a paper to the green mop.

After that whole ordeal, we went back to class and read our curriculum, and had a few classes with Present Mic and other heroes. Pretty dope that all teachers are heroes, even though it looks heavily inefficient since they could be on the field instead of classes, but whatever, it's not even my country.

It seems that the regular required classes, like English, which I was currently in, are in the morning. It seems that even as a hero trainee I can't escape school.

In the middle of the class, a familiar blond boy with a metal belt with a glass circle on it approached and whispered to me.

"Monsieur, remember me from the French bakery?" The Frenchie said while posing, and sparkles appearing around him. Is it his Quirk?

A question for another time. Now that he is saying…

"You are that waiter from months ago. Seems Japan is smaller than I thought." I said to the guy.

"Yes, I am. Forgive me for intruding, but may I ask how your date with the madame went?" He asked me, still posing…

"It went damn fine, my friend. I guess I owe you for that, huh? I'm Rick May, you?" I introduced myself and opened my hand to him.

"I'm Yuga Aoyama, a pleasure." He shook my hand, still being all posing-dramatic.

After that Present Mic caught us, told us to pay attention to class, but he literally teaches English, my native, American language (shut up England!). So I went to my happy place, filled with Rocket Launchers of all kinds, hamburgers, and hoes everywhere, till the end of his class.

Or so I would, if not for HER.

"Which one of these English sentences is wrong?" The rock star asked the class, who was bored out of their minds.

"Everybody, heads up! Let's get this party started!" He said while throwing his fist in the air like a DJ and moving his body like throwing a fit.

Momo dared to raise her hand in my domain.

"Okay, Yaoyorozu, come on!" The teacher allowed the wench to speak.

"The relative pronoun is in the wrong place in number 4!"

"You're right! An imaginary point for you!"

Damn hackers. She probably cheated, just like her Quirk.

After that, I went to the main cafeteria with Izuku's gang, composed of the Engine boy and the floaty girl.

The food there was good. Like, REALLY GOOD. The price was too cheap for this for such a meal. Is this fake? A bunch of plastic with taste?

"White rice is great comfort food, isn't it?" The Cook Hero: Lunch Rush (told by my bro who was busy being a hero fanboy) said. Ochako nodding at the weird-looking man. His face was literally a metal tube… and why does a cooking hero exist? Japan is a strange land.

"Rick!" The sweet voice of an American girl reached my ears.

"Pony!" I got up to met my girl, meeting her with a spinning hug.

"Rick, stop embarrassing me in public!" She mocked punched me to let her down, with that adorable pout of hers.

"Okay. Okay. Not my fault you are cute when shy." I put her on the ground. "Let me introduce you to the gang. Glasses is Iida, Brunette is Ochako." I pointed to them, getting a few complaints about the nicknames.

"I'm Pony Tsunotori, nice to meet you all. Please take care of me." She bowed to them for a second and joined our table.

As we chit-chatted, Ochako brought a question.

"Pony, what is your relationship with Rick?"

"Ochako, that's too bold!" Iida replied, going full robot with his arm went up and down.

Izuku remained silent, watching silently from the sideline.

"Ah, um, well… you see…" The horned girl stuttered

"Yeah, Pony, what is our relationship?" I poked her further.

She crossed her arms in defiance and turned her head to the side, muttering her answer, "…He's my boyfriend."

The entire cafeteria went quiet for a moment. Eyes staring at our table, much to Pony's dismay.

"Bastard! The first day and he has already a cute girl! Why things must be so unfair!" Someone yelled from one of the tables. It was a gremlin with purple balls for hair, was that tears what I see from his eyes.

Heh, get owned maggot.

"A-A girlfriend?" Iida stuttered at the revelation, with a blush on his cheeks, the same being true to Ochako and Izuku.

"What? You talk as if this is alien. Is this one of these Japanese things?" I asked Izuku, who trying to cope with all the eyes.

"Rick! Stop talking and eat, or else…" Pony threatened me with a dark complexion on her face.

Oh no. This face…

The face that preludes a whole week of being blocked on messenger, and blocked of other stuff to… (wink)

I looked to my plate and dug in.

They continued talking, we even exchanged contacts, but I had too much to lose to enter the conversation. I remained silent for the rest of the day.

(Rick's Pov)

Me, Izuku, and Pony walked away from U.A. towards my car since I promised to give them a lift.

"I'm so tired…" Izuku said while his shoulders dropped.

I was about to reply when a hand landed on the greenette's shoulder, stopping him dead on his tracks.

"Iida!" He exclaimed to the engine boy.

"Is your finger healed?" He replied back to Izuku.

The hero fanboy showed his bandaged finger, "Yeah, thanks to Recovery Girl."

We continued walking towards the exit.

"I was really taken in my Mr. Aizawa." He commented about our homeroom teacher with a hand on his chin. "I even thought, 'This is the best of the best' and such. I didn't think a teacher would encourage us with a lie."

"Hey! You four!" A voice shouted far away, from our backs.

Ochako ran towards us, "Going to the station? Wait for me!"

"Uraraka?!" Izuku voiced, startled.

"I saw you all going, I wanted to go together too! Deku, lid—"

"'Deku'?!" He interrupted her.

"Huh? But during the fitness test, the boy named Bakugo said 'Deku, you bastard!', right?"

Hoh? I wanted to know the same thing.

The boy rubbed his hands in embarrassment, "Uh… my real name is Izuku, but D-Deku is what Kacchan calls me to make fun of me…"

"An insult?" Tenya reasoned.

"Izuku, your 'friend' doesn't seem very 'friend' of you at all." I said, crossing my arms.

"Umu! Not a friend at all!" Pony agreed with me.

Ochako put a hand on the back of her head, for touching the sore subject, "Oh, is that right? Sorry. But 'Deku' sounds like the Japanese word for 'You can do it!', so I kinda like it."

"I'm Deku!" The green mop said in a beat, going full strawberry with his red face and green hair.

I just chuckled at the sidelines.

"Midoriya? You're accepting it too easily! Wasn't that an insult?" Iida reasoned, trying to make sense of the logic error. Pony nodded, agreeing with glasses.

Izuku covered his face with his hands, hiding his blush, "It's like a Copernican Revolution…"

"Co-pe?" Uraraka said, not getting the reference.

"G-Going back to the previous topic, about the station." The greenette changed the subject. "S-Sorry, Uraraka. But I'm going with—"

"WOAH! Look at the time! I need to rush! Zeus needs his food! Seems like you will have to go to the station!" I grabbed Pony's hand and ran towards the exit, leaving no room for argument.

After we arrived at my car, Pony stopped me.

"Rick. What are you doing?"

"Being a Bro. I promised that I would help Izuku to get a girlfriend of his own. Pony, as friends of that green mop, it is our duty to ship them! He is too shy and dense to do it on his own." I explained.

Pony stared at me for a long time before saying, "… You are shipping Izuku and Ochako?"

"Yeah! Think about. They hit off well from the start, saved each other in U.A.'s Entrance Exam… it's too good of a chance to pass! Pony, you have to understand." I pleaded.

She thought for a little bit, "Fine. I get it. I'll help you. But if you start dragging me everywhere…"

"I promise! It will be small stuff." I raised my hands in surrender.

After that, I drove back home after dropping Pony at her place and went to my room.

A lot of things happened today.

Maybe I should call the boys later. See how their first day of high school was. Tell them (flex) about me going to the best hero school in the world, having a girlfriend, while they don't. [5]

The good stuff.

Writing Notes:

[1] All Might was so nervous in this part that he said 'repeat after me' in English at the anime.

[2] It's so weird when you think about, how in MHA people just think and say the same thing at the same time as if their thoughts are always connected… sus.

[3] Ochako Quirk is not only Zero Gravity, but it seems she can also stop momentum to an extent, or else Izuku would've just died in U.A. Entrance Exam. Stopping gravity, and an already going momentum is two different things.

[4] Aizawa still stopped Izuku to force him to innovate something. Not just 100% or 5%. Basically, an excuse for Midoriya to learn and find out how to use his fingers.

[5] The boys are Rick's friends from J.A.M.S., Toby, Steve, and Jack.

Author Notes:

Hello again!

We are finally at U.A.! And we can already see the butterfly effects of Rick May existing. Mineta is gone!

Why? Honestly, I just had to remove someone from 1-A to put Rick there. Realistically, there is no way U.A., the most important school ever, would open a new spot just for Rick, and I don't really like when authors simply add the new character not even minding the 20 students per room limit.

It's a bit sad for me since I wanted Mineta to be a good comedy relief (punching bag) for my MC, but I have a possible substitute. Kaminari! He will be slightly more perv than his normal counterpart. Just enough for a scene or another, so relax.

And the other students are important one way or another. So yeah. He is still in U.A. though, just not in the hero course.

And about the Quirk Apprehension test? Was it reasonable? Dude, Momo is just too OP for tests like those. The only reason Rick was even able to get close to her was that he can explode himself forward, while she can't since she doesn't have the explosion-resistant body Mc has.

Mc will compete against her all the time, because they got on the wrong foot, or rather, Rick got on the wrong foot for thinking she is hacking. As a gamer, he has natural hate for hackers (except when he is the one hacking), especially if they look like a smartass. Nothing too aggressive, mostly funny stuff.

Exploding yourself is incredibly efficient to move distances without needing to pick up speed. That's how he got better results than Iida. The engine boy here needs a running start and sufficient distance to change marchs on his Quirk and go faster, Rick just needs to press the trigger and boom! He is flying to the finishing line. Iida is better for long distances or places which Rocket jumping would cause more harm than good.

Sorry for the late update, but the last chapter really tired me out. 12K words are much more than you guys imagine. The fact that it was a romance build-up made it even more tiring since I'm far from being a professional romantic… or a normal one. And besides, this has almost 7K words, a pretty long chapter.

What did you guys think? Could I have done something better? Tell me all about it.

Did the Quirk Apprehension Test too long? Did you guys not like when I go into too much detail like that and want me to skip it through? I personally like how it is, but I'm open to changes. I didn't like doing flashbacks and started doing after a comment, and it turned out well, so I'm open to them.

Your comments and review are the fuel for this fanfic, not even power stones (vote) are as satisfying as read and answering them. :)

I also created a new fanfic but it's already finished. It's basically what I think about webnovel, from all its ups and downs. I made a complete review of everything, from the app, the website, the system itself, the management, and the community. Check it out if you find it interesting enough.
