HOW MUCH WAS THIS GIRL SUFFERING?

With that she got up and one last time checked herself in the mirror.

She had decided, she would not let anyone come in between her revenge.

Opening up her door she came out, her face complete contrast to the red and shy one. She appeared cold and detached with her eyes looking straight towards the man who was standing near one of the couch.

"Let's talk." Was what she said before making herself comfortable on the couch.

Emmett nodded, he knew sooner or later they would have to talk. But he hadn't expected the girl to speak boldly.

"What happened last night? Why were you inside my room? No lies, I hate them." Here eyes appeared cold, which made Emmett's heart feel uneasy.

He knew that there would come a time like this, given that the girl in front of him had changed and was not like the girl he met two years ago.

But he didn't expect it to come this fast. He was truly caught off guard.

How much was this girl suffering? For her to hide away her feelings and wear a mask to completely hide herself.

He badly wanted to know what had happened two years back and he was sure he would. The girl herself would tell him if he would be able to break away and shatter her walls which she had made around her heart with love, she hadn't gotten till now.

But he knew it would take too long.

Emmett now decided to tell her the truth, more of a half-truth. He wouldn't want to be cast aside by her in the future, if there comes a time when she would come to know about his lies.

But now he would have to lie, for her sake which he hadn't done. He was also a person who hated lies. But if the lies spoken would help the other person, then why not lie than see the other suffer.

"When I came back, you were asleep. I found you lying on the couch and as you are my girlfriend I couldn't see you sleeping uncomfortably. So I carried you to the bed. Just when I wanted to go, you held my hand and weren't leaving it."

He looked at her eyes, to see if she felt that he was lying and when he saw nothing he continued, "I didn't know what kinds of dream you were having for you to not let me go so I just decided to sleep with you on the same bed. You are my girlfriend and I don't see if there was something wrong and yes your grip was deadly tight I wasn't able to take back my hand. I did try few times."

Emmett half-lied without batting an eye. He wasn't wrong though. He had wanted to tease her for calling him gay, but again her hold on his hand was also tight. So this wasn't counted as a lie.

Jennifer remembered her dream clearly and she felt a little guilty. She was well aware that she was calling him gay and also laughing at him in her dream.

She was also aware of how tight her grip could be, so she planned on skipping the question, lest he pesters her for answers. She wouldn't be able to come with an explanation on how she could hold him this tight. Also she wouldn't want to hurt his ego. So she swiftly changed the topic after giving a slight nod, indicating that she understood why he had slept beside her.

"What about performing duties of a boyfriend? As far as I remember I never agreed on it."
