16. Rewards

"sigh...that's 73 monster crystals from 101 monsters. Can I breakthrough to master mage with them" Mariel asked. {The monster cores will be enough for you to breakthrough to master mage level} Levi answered.

"I still have two days before the mission time limit is over, I'll cultivate from today and go back to the academy tommorow" Mariel said as he made his way back to the bear cave.

On getting to the bear cave Mariel sat on the floor, brought out the monster crystals and the warding crystal and began cultivating. Throughout the night he cultivated these crystals.

[27 hours left till mission respawn]

Mariel looked at the virtual screen above the ring. (I can feel it I'm almost breaking through, just a little bit more) he proceeded to continue cultivating.

*5 hours later*

*Boom*.

The cave shook a little as Mariel opened hi eyes. "I finally broke through" Mariel said in joy as he has been stuck at the ninth level spirit mage for long. "Levi, how long before I reach the next rank" Mariel asked as he could still keep up the cultivation.

"FIVE YEARS!" Mariel shouted in shock, disbelief and wonder. "Just sitting down, absorbing energy is so boring" he complained.

{The only way for you to get breakthroughs quickly is to cultivate your Phoenix essence and internal Mana world} Levi suggested as Mariel was almost breaking down from talking about the work he'll have to do.

"Let me head back, then we will talk more" Mariel said as he started running out of the cave and towards the academy at full speed.

"Whoah....I feel lighter. How fast am I running now" he asked as his hair fluttered in the wind.

"I heard that some mages can fly, how?" Mariel asked as he jumped passed the River he saw and shockingly monsters have already moved there.

{Woah, I wonder who put the warding crystal in that place....anyway mages can naturally fly when they enter the sage realm}

"Sage realm?" Mariel got confused.

After 3 hours of running, Mariel was close to the academy. he changed from the battle attire which was a fitted, body hugging cloth into his uniform.

[10 hours till mission respawn]

"Well that was a long run, how was I even able to run for so long?" he slowly walked to the school's large gate. Seeing the boy in their uniform the guards opened the gate for him.

Mariel got into a cab and in a few minutes he arrived at the library.

"Woaahh!" he couldn't help it, the library was even bigger than the main mission hall.

"They have information on all the teachers so they'll know where Mrs kremer stays" he then walked through the big transparent but strong doors of the library. He then walked to the counter that wasn't far from the entrance. "Um...hello Miss" he greeted the librarian. "I already said ..." she stopped talking as she saw Mariel. "I'm sorry....um...how can I help you" she said, a little flustered. She's a pink haired girl with pink eyes, a very weird combination if you ask me. But overall she was very pretty and sexy in that attendants attire. Mariel himself couldn't help but be wowed.

He has a very bad experience from high school. He had a girlfriend, their relationship went on for one year before she revealed to him that, she asked him out as a result of a truth or dare game, and she took the opportunity and used him for his money. And from that time he vowed to not involved himself with girls.

Mariel snapped out of his recap as the girl was staring at him. "I'm looking for Mrs kremer"

"Oh, then you're in luck. Mrs Kremer isn't always around. Give me your student ID let me mark the location on your map" she said as she took his details and made a dot on the map. "Thanks" he said as he left to find Mrs kremer since he's on a timer.

"What's that?" Mariel said as he was passing an open training field and saw a large flat disc with various symbols and lines on it.

{That's a spell formation. They can be used to amplify one's magical abilities. That have multipurpose use such as fighting, training, protecting, strengthening e.t.c}

After a while of walking Mariel reached in front of the house. "whooo..." he let out a long short breath. {What are you getting all nervous for, just knock} Levi urged.

"Okay, calm down, it's my first mission in the school" he readied himself and knocked the door.
