15. Killing spree

Mariel went around the desert area looking for D rank monsters while avoiding the high ranking ones. It wasn't long before he found some monsters. "Desert crawlers" he looked at the spider like monsters in front of him. What makes them extremely dangerous was that their webs were as strong as a B rank weapon. "What rank are they?" Mariel asked Levi as he unsheathed his sword.

{They are most likely in the C rank, be careful}

Mariel snuck up on the monsters from the high sand.

*SHRIEEE*

The spiders shrieked as they noticed the human coming towards them. One by one, the spiders came at him. "Hah..." he sliced the legs off of one of the spiders and finished it by piercing it's head. The spiders surrounded him.

(Five of them huh..)

*Whoosh*

He vanished from their middle. *SHRIEK* ,

One of the spiders shrieked in pain as a sword was impaled in it's back. With his speed, Mariel ran around the spiders, "Now I've got you surrounded" he ran around making quick cuts. The spiders were helpless before his speed. "Chii" the last of the desert crawlers fell. "huff...huff..still...huff.. exhausting" he panted. "What's my current speed" Mariel asked Levi as he sat down to rest. {From the last fight, your speed is currently at 20 metres per second. That's 72000 metres per hour} Levi answered. "Whoah...that's about four times my previous speed" Mariel then cleaned his sword.

{Check for monster crystals in the creatures, they contain Mana that can be used in cultivation} Levi suggested.

"Of course" he then went around cutting the creatures heads with his sword. "Let's keep hunting" he found a total of four beast crystals out of the five creatures.

{This experience is very beneficial for a warrior mage}. "I thought solace academy is an 'only magic' school" Mariel said as he started walking to another location to hunt.

{Well, it turns out that it trains both mages and warriors} Levi responded.

After a few minutes of walking Mariel found another group of creatures. "Hm?... Poison centipedes" Mariel identified his next target, two green coloured large centipedes.

Mariel charged forward. {Be careful, both of them are at the master mage stage and are B ranks} Levi warned Mariel. He waved his sword with a speed that a normal person couldn't see. When he looked back at the centipede he sliced he saw both the centipedes rounding him. (It didn't touch it) he was surprised. {Marie, the centipedes are 1.55 times faster than you} Levi announced. The centipedes sprayed him with acid venom simultaneously. "Lightning barrier" the acid venom solidified on the barrier and formed a dome. "Haa...." Mariel burst out from the dome and charged towards them. "Fire stream" a continuous stream of fire shot out of his hand and hit the centipede.

*reeee...reee*

The centipede was rolling on the floor in flames to get the fire off. At that time the other centipede sprayed Mariel acid and he swiftly evaded it and it touched the already burning centipede.

*Whooosh*

The centipede looked around as Mariel disappeared. "Haa..." Mariel appeared above it and sliced the head off. "Whoo..." he sat on the floor tired. {I'm impressed, defeating monsters that are one realm above yours} Levi complimented. Mariel went ahead and harvested the monster crystals from the monsters and stored it in his ring. "Let's keep hunting" Mariel said.

Throughout the day Mariel hunted different beasts, direwolves, ground worms and even a master mage B rank crow.

Authors note: I'm very jobless nowadays so I'm mass releasing chapters of this novel. I wrote this novel in a book and I'm transferring it and posting now. Sorry for the delay guys.
