"Since you refuse to quit your job and take over the company, then when do you plan on letting me and your father know about your child?" Mrs Avery dropped an unexpected bombshell that shocker Avianna to the core, the way she totally expected it to.
The spoon Avianna held suddenly dropped down from her hand, with her eyes widening out of shock. She didn't just heard her mom right, right now?. Did she?. How did she even find out about Sophie?. The child she had and was hiding her successfully from social media, reportes, paparazzi, prying eyes and anything else you could possibly mention.
But failed in protecting Sophie from her mom. How did that even happen?.
Mr Stephen promised to stay out of the mom and daughter's argument, but couldn't anymore when he heard his wife drop that statement. So he asked out of serious curiosity. He isn't sure if his ears heard rightly. "Child?, what do you mean by that?.
Mrs Avery knew this topic would surely interest her husband, so she went further in explaining to him, while watching the dumbfounded Avianna who's now speechless after her mouth had been running faster than a parrot before now.
"Our precious modeling daughter here" ~note the sarcasm in Mrs Avery's explanation. "Had a wonderful baby girl with someone that I'm still trying to find out his identity and has been hiding that from us for so long, even from the media too. That's why I'm trying to make her quit that stupid job of hers and take over the company before anyone else finds out about this and both her career and reputation including ours gets tarnished, or maybe even getting rid of that thing she calls Sophie would be much better "
"Leave my Sophie out of this!" Avianna yelled, getting up from her chair. She has taken enough of her mom's bullshit. Even if her mom knows about her child, does she have to say those awful words about her?. A little innocent child that's just six year old.
Mrs Avery grinned devilishly, knowing fully well the statement she made hit her daughter so hard. She could see the murderous glint that shone in those eyes Avianna literally got from her, because she mentioned Sophie.
Avianna must really care about her child a lot, even though she got it out of wedlock. But if only she knows how this would affect her if people start to find out about this Sophie and how it's going to affect her career. Then she would know that getting rid of Sophie before that would happen is the best idea now.
But it seems like Avianna isn't going to do that. She must have grown so attached to her unlucky child that came out at the wrong time.
Picking her bag up from the chair beside her, Avianna prepared to make her leave. She came here tonight ignoring the heavy rain that was falling outside just to have dinner with her family after years of being away from them for a very long time, only to receive insult's from her mom.
Someone she thought would have changed her ways towards her and welcome her after a very long time. But the woman is just unchanging, she refuses to change for even a little bit since after Avianna told her about her modeling dreams and she stood against it.
With the stubborn tears that tried forcing themselves out, Avianna fought them back hard while finding a little voice to speak up for herself. "I came here because I needed to and not because I wanted to" she paused, letting out a deep breath filled with sadness and proceeded with her words.
"All I ever needed my whole life is a mom who would look up to me and be like I'm so proud of you for following your dreams and actually achieving them and not a mom who would stand against it. Even hating on the same dream after I finally made it, but it seems like that is simply never going to happen" Avianna's voice was now on the verge of breaking down.
But despite all the confessions she's making right now in front of her parents who seemed to pay her attention. None of it moved her mom, who's heart like frozen ice that can never get melted. Her father is the only one who felt real sympathy with tears actually threatening to fall off his eyes while listening to his daughter say.
"It was nice having dinner tonight after such a long time of it happening, and I just wanted it to be a nice quiet family with my parents, but mom certainly didn't want that and even had to get my child involved".
Avinna left her seat permanently and bowed as a sign of respect to her parents. Raising her face to meet their faces, she made known to them. "It was nice seeing you both tonight and knowing you both are in good health. There's nothing else I could ever wish for. Now, I will be leaving with hope of mom keeping her mouth shut concerning my child" With this statement of hers, Avianna left the dinette, paying deaf ears to her father who was calling her back.
"None of this would have happened if you had kept your mouth shut for once" Mr Stefan blamed his wife for being the reason why their only child was leaving without even finishing the food she was eating or even his blessings.
He got up from his own chair, walking out of the dinette and leaving his wife alone there. She can now enjoy all the food by herself.
"I wasn't that hard on her!" Mrs Avery made known to her husband, going back to eating her food and trying to get rid of the guilt feelings suddenly gripping her.
Nanny Jade has been hiding all along, secretly listening to the family conversation and expected it to end that way. She saw Avianna when she was leaving and tried calling her back. But Avinna ignored her and walked away.
She knew Avianna never intended to do that, it was just caused by the bad mood her mom left her in.
On sighting the her boss coming out of the house, Stacy ran out of the car with an umbrella to prevent the rain on falling on her boss, but Avianna just ignored her, walking in the heavy rain and entered the car.
Stacy just shrugged, moving back into the car, wondering who made her boss looked really sad right now. She's supposed to be happy that she
just met her parents, but why is she then sad?.
"Drive" Avianna commanded from the back, and the driver obeyed swiftly, and roared the car engines back to the life. Avianna watched through the window as the rain fell down on the large compound, sighing a sigh of relief that the family dinner is over.
She can now get her peace of mind without her mom to pester her ever again back, because she's definitely not returning here again. Never!.
