Bashed And Broken
Alexander had always fashioned venison over any other meat.
It wasn't just the meat, but the beauty of the kill prior. The sight of the beautiful animal trapped in one of his snares always turned his blood hot. Just thinking about slitting the animal's throat and roasting it on his wretched father's outdoor grill sent a shiver of excitement through him. For all he cared, he could be a primitive being and be the happiest man alive.
The woods had lots of deer and one was likely to get caught in the snares he put up in the bushes. He was right, as he spied the poor animal struggling in the wire, jumping maniacally when he saw Xander coming towards it. He grinned at the sight of the large animal, a sign of bigger, smoother meat, and took out the captive bolt pistol.
The smooth surface of the pistol gleamed harshly in the dying light, looking much like a beast itself. The deer went crazy, jumping on all fours as Xander neared.
