The Betrayal (2)

Both Mr White and Andras let go of their attacks. The two titans headed towards each other, each with the power to topple over buildings and destroy properties easily.

*Boom!*

A huge explosion sounded as ripples spread outwards from the centre of the clash. At the same time, a blinding light shine from the centre of the explosion blinding everyone.

As everyone closed their eyes in order to prevent the glare from penetrating their eyes, they heard the voice of Andras.

"Hodge, Save me!"

*********

"Mr Hodge?" Aiden mumbled as he opened his eyes and glanced at where Mr Hodge was previously standing in order to see his reaction.

Yet, after a quick glance, he realised that he wasn't there at all. Even his son, Vex was no where to be seen! It was then that he heard the surprised voice of Mr White sound from above.

"Hodge, you have broken into ascension realm?"

Aiden raised his head only to see that Mr Hodge was currently also flying in the sky. He stood opposite to Mr White and Andras was behind him with a timid look on his face like a cat who has lost his owner.

Mr White seemed to have also noticed this and right after his surprised voice sounded, his voice suddenly became cold.

"What do you mean by this, Hodge?" Mr White asked coldly.

"What does it look like? I am helping Andras of course," contrary to Mr White's cold voice, Mr Hodge sounded absolutely free and calm.

"You are betraying me?" Mr White asked angrily.

"Betraying? I wouldn't say it that way. After all, I haven't swore any allegiance to you... " Mr Hodge said with a casual smile.

"Do you think that you can escape with this? Even if you do , your family wouldn't be able to!" Mr Bai said angrily from below.

Casually casting his gaze at Mr Bai, Mr Hodge's gaze turned cold. Ace couldn't help but shiver from the nostalgia he felt from that gaze. It was the same gaze that Mr Hodge used when he tried to interrupt him on the stage.

"Bai, I think it's about time that you respect your seniors when we are speaking. After all, you are a junior," Mr Hodge said. After saying that, he turned his sights towards Mr White,

"Listen, I know you are quite angry but it doesn't matter. As for my family... Hehe, they are already gone," Mr Hodge said with a light chuckle.

"What about you son?.... Oh, I see. You also sent him away..." Mr White was about to ask about Vex when he realised that he couldn't see him anywhere below.

"Of course, he is gone. After all, I don't want him seeing me taking the gate away," Mr Hodge mused.

"Are you sure about this? I don't think you are going to survive for him to see you again!" Mr White said. Everything till now seemed like a joke to him. First Andras appeared and then this guy too? What was going on?

"What would you get from doing this? Do you also want to be the principal?" Mr White asked. He could understand why someone like Andras would come back to seek revenge but why would Mr Hodge do the same.

He didn't remember ever treating him badly. In fact, the relationship between them was quite close so there was no reason why Mr Hodge would do somethinh like this. The only reason why he asked if he wanted the principal seat was because, just like Andras, Mr Hodge also thought he wasnt worthy when he was handed the seat.

However, as time went on, mr Hodge seemed to have accepted this and the relationship between them gradually developed into that of friendship.

"Principal? I dont have such funny aspirations," Mr Hodge mused. "I am working for someone. It is the same person Andras is working for and he told us to bring him the Gate of Magic. That is the reason. I dont have any crazy aspirirations!"

"Gate of Magic? By taking the Gate of Magic away, there is no way I would be staying in this city again!" Mr White said.

"Hmph! As if I would want to stay in this lame city. For those below who dont know, this city is the lowest type of city you can be in. A place where only 1st stage ascension realm people are called experts doesnt even deserve to be called a city."

"It should be called a village!" Mr Hodge declared.

"Hm? I see. Then aren't you afriad that, the Magic Assocaition would come for you?"

"Magic Association? Hmph, they cant do me anything. After all, the person I am working for is a high ranking official there!" Mr Hodge claimed.

"Sigh..." Mr White let out sigh. Seeing Mr Hodge continiously refute all the terms that he wanted to come up with, to stop them from taking the Gate of Mgaic away, Mr Hodge felt a little disheartened.

From all this, he could tell that mr Hodge had made up his mind. After all, he was bragging so much about the person he worked for. he seemed to have great confidence in this person as he continued to mention him.

Perharps he was the only person who could brag about serving someone.

*************

"Hodge, You might have reached ascension realm but that means nothing to me. I am giving you one last chance for you to surrender!" Mr White declared

"Surrender? That isnt happening," Mr Hodge shook his head calmly, "I might not be enough to defeat you. But it seems like you have forgotten something, he is also here!"

Mr Hodge then tossed a bottle to Andras who took it and drank it immediately. The next moment, Andras' wounds began to heal at a visible pace and soon, he was fully healed.

Turning his head to Mr White, A smirk appeared on his face as he said,

"It's time for round two!"

Mr White didnt react much though, He just shook his head and shrugged whilst sayinf,

"Round two? I didnt expect to hear that from someone who nearly died a moment ago!"
