Sparring Battle

As soon as the words start were heard, silence fell on the plain.

Every member of the Jackals was there to watch the fight.

Suddenly Gorkuis bent his knees and dashed forward

His speed was immense as he traveled the few-meter distance between him and Leroy in just a second.

Leroy stared at Gorkuis as he arrived and raised his sword a bit higher in preparation to block or parry his strikes.

Gorkuis finally arrived at Leroy and raised his sword aiming for an overhead strike.

'His strength is most definitely way higher than mine, I don't think I can even parry an overhead strike' Leroy thought and then suddenly sprung into action and rolled to the side, getting up as quickly as he could and slashing his sword to where Gorkuis was.

Or at least should have been, Leroy's sword only touched the air and he saw a shadow on top of him.

Leroy's Instincts kicked in as he jumped sideways and quickly turned around to face Gorkuis.

What he saw was Gorkuis holding his sword which was almost fully in the ground.

'That would have killed me' Leroy thought as he started sweating.

'This is a chance, as his sword is stuck in the ground' Leroy thought immediately after and lounged at Gorkuis, aiming for a diagonal slash at his hand so he could at least make it so that Gorkuis had a harder time wielding his sword, thus giving Leroy an advantage.

As Leroy's sword started heading down towards Gorkuis's hand, it was suddenly knocked back.

*CLANG*

'What? I'm sure his sword was stuck,' Leroy thought as his eyes widened, his hand that swung the sword was already trembling from the pain that came with clashing his sword with Gorkuis.

Leroy looked at Gorkuis and finally noticed it.

His hand was covered in metal, he had been wearing gauntlets all this time.

'I got tricked' Leroy thought as his expression turned gloomier.

'He got his sword stuck intentionally so that I would lounge at the opportunity so that I'd be in the range of his attack and in a direct clash I'll always lose.' Leroy continued to replay the small clash that had just happened in his head.

Gorkuis finally got his sword out of the ground and put it on his shoulder.

"Is that all you have kid? If that's it then there's no spot on the mission for you." Gorkuis said as he looked at Harry with his eyes almost as if telling him to look at how wrong you were, but what he saw instead was Harry's eyes looking at Leroy with expectancy in them almost as if this was the moment he was waiting for.

'Now show them what you showed me Leroy' Harry thought to himself, a small grin appearing on his face.

Leroy finally seemed to snap out of it and stared at Gorkuis and then directly dashed towards him.

"Oh, you decided to finally attack me eh kid?" Gorkuis said as he got his defensive stance ready.

Arriving at Gorkuis, Leroy swung his sword diagonally at him once again.

'You think that's going to work' Gorkuis thought as he inwardly scoffed at Leroy and prepared to clash his sword with Leroy.

However, at the last moment, Leroy seemed to push his entire body towards Gorkuis's one and just as it was close to his face Leroy moved past it and let it just pass through the air hitting nothing.

Finally, close to Gorkuis, Leroy swung his sword which had now generated enough kinetic energy with both his swing and lounge combining together thus creating a slash with much higher power than what Leroy could normally create.

Gorkuis's eyes widened as he stared at the sword getting closer and closer to his chest.

'I'm about to be beaten by a random kid?' He thought as he started getting angrier and angrier.

'No, I can't ever allow that to happen' Gorkuis thought and suddenly his body started exuding a faint blue aura.

"What are you!" Harry couldn't finish his words before he saw Leroy's body swung in his direction, flying into the air.

Jumping up he caught Leroy in his arms and landed down, quickly laying Leroy down he tried to see how much damage had been done.

'Thankfully it looks like nothing is broken, his abdomen armor seems to have saved him this time, it's completely broken though' Harry thought as he looked at the fist-shaped dent into the armor.

'He's unconscious though'

Getting up from his crouching position, Harry turned towards Gorkuis who was now standing there in the middle of the plain, a grin on his face.

"Are you satisfied?" Harry asked as he started walking towards him.

And then suddenly Gorkuis's grin was gone, his brows furrowed as he looked down at the ground, seemingly deep in thoughts now.

'Did I just use mana against a kid who first touched a sword last week' Gorkuis thought as he clenched his fists, frustrated with himself.

"It's all right, I'm sure Leroy won't hold it against you and I didn't add a rule that said you had to hold back," Harry said as he sat down on the ground next to Gorkuis who was still standing.

"What are all of you doing, get going and start getting ready for tomorrow" Harry shouted at the rest of the Jackals.

Jakins started trying to pick Leroy up but was stopped by Harry.

"Leave him here, I'll wait for him to wake up," Harry said as he shooed Jakins away with his hand.

"He's strong, no I wouldn't call him strong, he's just a talented monster," Gorkuis said as he sat down next to Harry as well.

"I know right, imagine all the pain I had to go through while teaching him for a whole week, months and maybe even years of my experience just absorbed in a single week," Harry said in a joking tone but his eyes were serious.

They then stood there in silence for a few moments until

"He's good enough to come" Gorkuis grumbled after staring at Leroy's unconscious body for a while.

"I know, now don't ever go against my orders again will ya?" Harry said as he turned towards Gorkuis, his face dark and a devilish grin growing on his face.

"This, calm down captain, I only did it for the group," Gorkuis said as he started walking backward.

"Now now now, I don't think it's your role to do things like that now is it?" Harry said as his eyes glinted.

"Please Captain" Gorkuis said as put his hands together as if praying to the man.

"2 Weeks of training Leroy," Harry said as he turned around walking towards Leroy's body.

"What no, wait for Captain"
