"Are you trying to make a habit of this!?" Delvin demanded as he glared irritatedly at Astrid who had once again barged into his workshop
It had been two days since his recovery and he had spent most of his time either keeping an eye on heather or working on modifications for his armor, adding and removing features. He'd removed a fair amount of the larger spikes, trimming the armor to make it sleeker and more manoeuvrable, while also adding numerous features such as inbuilt cushioning and had overall just been perfecting the design.
"She's gone!" Astrid yelled in anger and shock, marching into the workshop and grabbing her ax which he just finished sharpening, before marching out the door "Little miss innocent took my god damn Dragon!!
"Sorry… What?!" Delvin exclaimed as he followed behind, grabbing his halberd and pursuing the rampaging bull that was his cousin
"Heather took both the Book of dragons and Stormfly" answered hiccup as he suddenly appeared, carrying toothless's saddle on his shoulder, looking rather betrayed and ashamed whenever he looked in Astrid's direction "looks like i was wrong about her"
"I told you! I literally told you that she was sneaking around in my room and that she met up with savage on the beach last night, and what did you do? You didn't listen!" Astrid growled, looking both hurt and enraged as she looked at the smaller boy
"Wait… Realy?" Delvin exclaimed as he looked at Hiccup, this was the first he was hearing of it, that Hiccup had literally been handed an eyewitness and still didn't listen "you caught her in the act!? And you still didn't listen?!" Delvin shook his head between the two of them, directing a question at both of them each
"Yep" Astrid answered sounding pissed
"I didn't want to believe it" Hiccup whispered looking even more ashamed
Delvin just gave him a look before whispering under his breath "unfaithful and cheating bastard"
That earned him a blush and punch from Astrid
****
"I just can't believe that she would leave behind all of… this!" Snotlout whined, indicating to himself and sounding genuinely flummoxed, causing even Hookfang to give him an eye roll.
"This is bad!" fishlegs yelled, clearly freaking out as he put on meatlugs saddle, they had all gathered at the cliff for pursuit, "If Alvin gets ahold of the book of dragons, who knows what he might do!"
"Get himself killed by a dragon hopefully" Delvin joked as he jumped atop Snap-pine, eliciting a happy growl from the dragon, who was clearly excited by the prospect of a flight
"I still can't believe she tricked us," Hiccup said "I am so sorry Astrid!" he offered,
"You can apologise later!" Astrid growled as she climbed atop toothless, which didn't really make sense seeing as Delvin clearly had the bigger dragon, but hey who was he to get in the way of teen love "First we need to get my dragon back!
And then once everyone was prepared they took off, flying as fast as they could in the direction of outcast island, a place that Delvin would never set foot in due to the smell of the citizens alone. Even if Berkians rarely showered at least they did so, the same could not be said for the outcasts
"There's no way we could catch them!" Astrid called, sounding rather hopeless "Stormfly is way too fast!"
And Delvin had to admit, he took that personally
"Oh please" He muttered before rolling his eyes and bedding down slightly so he was closer to the head of Snap-pine and whispered into his ears
"Hunt"
Within seconds he had left behind the others as Snap-pine let out a joyous screech and began to fly as fast as he could. See even if Hiccup and toothless were technically faster than him, it was only during the decent, where toothless became a literal lightning bolt of speed, and with toothless now having twice the usual weight on him, snap-pine far outclassed him and within a few minutes the other riders were nothing but specks on the horizon
And soon he could make out the dot that grew into the shape of a dragon and a rider. One heather and Stormfly combo, they were flying erratically and Delvin could clearly see how Heather was struggling to keep the dragon under control as Stormflys instincts were likely screaming at her to return to Astrid
It only took a couple more seconds and he was on top of her, halberd ready to swing. Heather only had just seen him, his figure obscured by the sun and her face turning instantly pale as she saw the shining edge of the halberd swinging towards her, on a collision course with her skull.
Sadly it wasn't to be as either Stormfly saw him as a threat or wanted to protect Heather as she swerved down by only a few meters, causing his attack to miss, almost shaving the hair from the girls head
"Delvin?!" Heather exclaimed as she starred at his figure as he glared down at her from above, standing upon the back of Snap-pine and preparing for another swing
"I Told you didn't I?" Delvin said with a shrug, gripping his halberd and thrusting it downwards "When i find an enemy… I kill them!"
"B-But I'm not your enemy!" Heather Protested, looking suitably scared seeing as she was unarmed on Stormflys back, only able to rely on the dragon to protect her, which it did as Stormfly swerved once more, stopping his blow from connecting with her neck "I'm just doing what i have to!"
"and that just happens to be giving one of Berks most weaponizable pieces of knowledge to an enemy island, who will then use it to conquer my home" He replied dully before looking ahead "...speaking of which"
He pointed forwards to the island they were approaching, one with Alvin on its shore and with catapults launching fire at them
