"I'm telling you magic is real!" A teenager shouted, making the people walking by give him strange looks. "Sorry."
"Magic is not real." A girl said. "As much as you want it to be and no matter how many of your great grandparents' books you read." The five others nodding in agreement with her.
"No, I'm telling you, I actually did it!" He whispered yelled while looking around. "I did a spell, or magecraft as they called it, called grander- no Gandr."
"Alright show us." Another teenager said, he had black hair and was tall with muscles over his body, although it was covered by his school uniform.
"I can't! We're out in public, from what I've read magecraft is supposed to be a secret. Apparently the top magi's control some governments, I even saw some spells for mind control! They could be fucking your favorite anime voice actor and you wouldn't know!" He said like he had a point with that last sentence.
"No way!" A boy with dyed white hair said, jokingly. "Why didn't you tell me sooner! I could be out there getting the girl of my dreams and here you are wasting it by practicing a grander-."
"Gandr!" He corrected with his glasses on face. "But that's not the craziest thing. The things that appeared on our hands out for a big ritual, where people summon heroic spirits, heroes of the past. And the winner gets a wish."
"You expect us to believe that. It's just a bruise from the arm wrestling we were doing." The girl from before said, pushing her black hair back, the bottom of it dyed blue.
"No! I can prove it. The grail isn't supposed to pick a group of people that know each other so this might be a greater grail war, so there's groups. We are one group and we fight against another. If- if you just draw the summoning circle and say the chant you'll summon someone." He explained frantically, while pushing up the glasses on his face.
"I say we do it." A meek girl said, carrying her books in her arms. "If it's fake we get a laugh out of it, and if it's real we get a chance to get a wish."
"Oh come on!" Another girl with tanned skin and blonde hair complained. "If it's just a wish and if magic is real, which it isn't, then let's just find a genie, that way we'll get three wishes."
"It's real trust me, just meet me at my house tonight." He said before trying to run away.
"What time?!" The meek girl shouted out nervously, she didn't want to be late to it.
"Um, eight!" He shouted back before continuing.
"Why do we even hang out with him again." The muscle guy asked.
"Oh come on, he's not that bad. He's just into the supernatural, besides it fun to see with he'll come up with next time. Trust me, once he gets out of this magic phase he is a nice guy to talk to." The guy with white hair said.
"Yeah he's not that bad, he just likes the fantasy side of life." A girl with glasses and brown hair said.
When it turned eight most of them were already at Thomas's house, the guy with the glasses. Arron was there, the muscle guy, so was Evelyn, the meek girl, and Jayden, the white haired guy, and Laura, the girl with glasses.
"Where are they? I already have the circles ready and everything." Thomas complained as he went around the circle making sure everything was right.
The rest were going over the chant he had given them.
"Isn't the holy grail the thing- ah, I don't know, something got to do with Jesus or something?" Jayden asked.
"I think so. He drank from it at the last supper and someone collected his blood in it after he was crucified." Evelyn informed them.
"So, let's say this is real, which it isn't, but who is going to summon the berserker. Not to ride on the person who will summon him, but I don't want a rabid dog." Arron said to them.
"Nah, I got assassin." Jayden said, claiming his before anyone else.
"Fine then, I'll get lancer." Arron said. "Not like I wanted assassin or anything." He mumbled, Arron and Jayden always fight over who would get to play the assassin role in games they played.
"Since I'm the one who informed you all of magecraft, I'll get caster." Said thomas as he pushed his glasses up his nose.
"Then I'll get… rider." Said Laura. "And, tell me again, what's the difference between magecraft and magic?"
Thomas sighed. "Magecraft can be replicated by science and magic can't. That's why there are only five true magics."
"And what? Seeing into the future isn't one of the true magics? The day science can see into the future will be the day… I chew on my sock." Jayden said.
"If they could see all the atoms and could calculate how they would move then they would be able to see into the future and would be able to tell what would happen, even if only for a second." Evelyn said. "And I'll summon, berserker."
"You sure?" Thomas asked worriedly. "If this does work, whoever you summon could possibly not follow you if you don't stand up for yourself."
"I'll be okay. I can be commanding if I want to." Evelyn said meekly, making no one in the room believe her.
The door opened and in walked mari, the gyaru of the group and also the last member. "Sorry I'm late, some rando came up and asked for my number, had to punch him so he would go away."
"Well, because you're late you're stuck with the archer servant." Thomas said.
"What? Is that bad?" Mari asked.
"According to this creepy ass book, the archer servant usually doesn't listen to the master unless they respect them, but even then it's usually a tense relationship." Jayden informed her.
"Ok, I don't mind." Mari said not caring.
"Let's go at the same time, so that way if something does happen, like I know it will, none of you will pussy out." Thomas said glaring at them.
"Relax, if anything does happen I'll beat them up." Arron said cracking his knuckles, before turning away from the group to shake his hand in pain.
They all snickered behind him as Evelyn asked a question. "So, since were a team, and for the chant we need a colour, what colour are we going for?"
"Since I'm the leader of the team-." Thomas started only to get cut off by Laura.
"No! I'm the leader!" Laura countered.
And in walked a girl with glasses, called Yuko, the sister to Mari. Both of them are from Japan. "What's going on here?"
Jayden stood by her side watching the chaos unfold with a smile on his face. "Trying to decide who the leader should be. And you're lucky you called saber through the group chat or you would have been stuck with archer."
"Oh, shouldn't we decide on who leads by the servant we summon?" Yuko asked loudly, making everyone look at her.
"Great idea, but what colour should the team be? I'll let you decide since you came up with the idea." Thomas said.
"Eh, I don't know…" she looked around and saw Jaydens hair. "White! Our team colour should be white, it's a peaceful colour to show we will accept any surrenders towards us and… stuff?" She said starting sting but questioning herself at the end.
Meanwhile Jayden was looking at his hair.
"Alright let's do this." Thomas said. "I've set up seven circles, so we can all do it at the same time. So let's get started!" He said excitedly.
Once they were in front of their circles they each felt the marks on their hands heat up slightly, but continued on anyway.
"Let silver and steel be the essence.
Let stone and the archduke of contracts be the foundation.
Let White be the color I pay tribute to."
"Let rise a wall against the wind that shall fall.
Let the four cardinal gates close.
Let the three-forked road from the crown reaching unto the Kingdom rotate."
They all felt the wind pick up but ignored it, expect for Thomas who was smiling brightly, knowing this was real.
"Let it be declared now; your flesh shall serve under me, and my fate shall be with your sword.
Submit to the beckoning of the Holy Grail.
Answer, if you would submit to this will and this truth."
"An oath shall be sworn here.
I shall attain all virtues of all of Heaven;
I shall have dominion over all evils of all of Hell."
Jayden was thinking of how cool of chant this was, something the others would agree with if they could hear his thoughts.
"Yet you shall serve with your eyes clouded by chaos.
For you would be one caged in madness.
I shall wield your chains."
Evelyn said her unique part of the chant as she could swear she felt an invisible chain wrap around her wrist.
"From the Seventh Heaven, attended to by three great words of power,
come forth from the ring of restraint, protector of the holy balance!"
With that finished a bright light shines and they all got blown back, smoke getting caught in their eyes.
When the smoke cleared and the group calmed down a bit, they saw seven new people, although people would be putting it lightly for some.
The seven were in an awesome stance together, was what Jayden would think, whether it was intentional or not didn't matter, it looked cool.
One of them was a robot with a cloak that went over his head and down to knees. He had a revolver in the holster on his right leg, with an ace of spades drawn on it.
Another person had blonde hair, and was wearing royal robes, with medals adorning it. He didn't hold a weapon but Thomas could feel the magic coming off him.
One of them was wearing leather clothes, with a mask that covered one eye with teeth over the mouth with a zipper. He had white hair and a semi blank look in his eyes.
The tallest man in the room was an old man with a moustache that looked like a tooth from an extinct animal. He was so tall he had bent over so he didn't go through the roof. He was holding a Lance-like weapon; he had white jacket that sat on his shoulders, with a black sash holding up his yellow trousers.
The most inhumane one there was a person who had blue skin, that was covered in ice and had a wings and a tail on his back, holding a sword in his hand.
One of the most normal looking was a handsome man with black hair and purple eyes, wearing regular clothes, holding a dagger in each hand.
The most ordinary looking one was a man with tanned skin and was wearing under armour shirt and black trousers, holding no weapon in his hands.
"Who is my master?" Asked the really tall old man.
"I-I think I am." Arron said nervously, he didn't think he could beat them now.
"I see, where's the door outside?" The big man asked. The rest of the servants were looking at him with strange looks, which was normal considering his height.
Arron was talking to the big man and taking him outside while the rest were getting used to their servants.
"So your my master huh?" The robot said in a light hearted tone of voice.
"Yeah, you got a problem with that?" Mari asked rudely, for her it was important to show that she was the master in this.
"No, of course not. But keep me away from the big guy will ya. Don't want him to step on me." The robot said jokingly.
Mari chuckled. "I don't think anyone wants to get stepped on."
Yuko was standing in front of her servant, the ice demon. "H-hello. I'm Yuko."
"Osiris, or Roy. Whichever you prefer. I'll state this now, I'm a devil, so I'm doing this because it benefits me, if it doesn't in the future, I'll probably betray you. But until then let's get along." Osiris said, sticking his hand out.
Yuko shook his hand before pulling it away freezing.
"So what kind of magic do you use?" The blonde in royal clothes asked. He practically had stars in his eyes.
"W-well I'm only new to magecraft, so I don't know anything." Thomas said as pushed his glasses up, while scratching the back of his head.
"That's okay, I have some grimoires you can study. I'm julius novachrono by the way master." He informed him while pulling out a blank book that he started writing in.
"Ah, yes I'm Thomas."
"I'm Evelyn, your master." Evelyn said strongly.
"Kaneki Ken. Berserker servant. As long as you don't make me do anything I don't want to, I'll serve you." Kaneki said as he took off his mask.
"So, your rider. You don't look strong compared to the others." Laura said pointing out the facts.
Rider chuckled. "It's because I'm not, I wouldn't be able to stand up against some of the weaker riders, physically at least. My noble phantasm is my main strength, although if I use it the world might be destroyed." He informed her casually.
"Huh? How is that even possible?" Laura asked, confused.
"Things were different where I'm from, that's all I'll say." He said, smiling a little.
"So you're my master?" The man with purple eyes and black hair said, his dagger gone by now.
"Y-yeah, guess so. Listen, I'll say this now. I'm not much of a leader, but if you need me to do something I'll try and help." Jayden said to him. "Oh, I'm Jayden by the way."
"Sung jinwoo. There's only one thing I can think of at the moment, there's someone like me, an enemy servant. I want to talk to them if possible, although they've hidden themselves from me now."
"I thought assassins were supposed to be good at tracking and stuff?" Jayden asked, confused.
"No, that's more of an archer thing, although I can do it, but not at the same level. Assassins are good at detecting mana, she has hidden her mana from me, although we need to hide ours as well, none of them are being subtle." Jinwoo said. "Oh yeah, I'm not really an assassin either, I'm a special case. I can be summoned as a caster or an assassin, your lucky you got the assassin me, I'm stronger this way, I have the capability of both classes." Jinwoo said to Jayden.
"That's cool." Jayden said in awe. But then he remembered what Jinwoo said about the mana. "Can you hide their mana, or do they have to do it themselves?"
"By themselves, but they should be capable." Jinwoo informed.
