chapter 7.

Jack and Nyxondra now stand in a small arena-like square in front of the entire class (imagine a small dragon ball tournament, I'll try to remember to put a pic for reference, but you know, it's inside.}

Jack stands on the right side, wearing his school uniform, the only difference is the new necklace, which's made of silver with an orb in the middle.

Jack is holding a long sword in his right hand and a short sword in his left.

Nyxondra is wearing similar clothing except it's the girl's variant and with the same type of necklace Jack is wearing. She has what seems to be weights around her hands and ankles and holds no weapons.

Mr stone "Three, two, go!"

Both Jack and Nyxondra charge forward, clashing in the middle of a power struggle.

"Hey Jack, what now something cool."

"Not really, but you're gonna say anyway so."

"I'm allowed to use magic now." a menacing smile appeared on her face

As they clash, her hands start to become covered in a green slimy substance, and Jack's swords start to smoke.

Jack reacts by jumping back and does a quick chant, but before he can finish it he is once again rushed stopping whatever he is doing and jumping to the left, jack, slashes with one of his swords, only to leave a cut in Nyxondra's trouser leg but not leaving a scratch on her."

"Oh, you'll have to hit harder than that Jack if you want to see anything important." she said with a teasing tone.

Jack once again jumps away from Nyxondra.

"Oh, you're running away, instead of coming right to me? How do you expect to hurt me from back there?"

Jack starts to get into a stance, pointing both his sword to the right of him.

Nyxondra stands confidently and waves at Jack to come at her."

"Black fangs two sword style, mounting cleaver!"

Jack then dashes towards Nyxondra, cutting her arms, as she raises them to protect herself.

Jack ends up behind her, turning around "20 pound moon cannon"

A small pressure wave is shot towards Nyxondra and hits.

Nuxondra is hit back slightly, she looks towards Jack and licks the small amount of blood that appeared from her arm.

"You cut me. When could you do that, now this is getting interesting." a crazed look starts to appear in her eyes."

She once again dashes towards Jack, faster than before. This makes it so Jack is unable to get out of the way, so with the only option he blocked, his swords taking the brunt of the blow, sizzling at the impact, and a small amount of the green substance hit jacks clothes, making a small hole in them.

Nyxondra used one hand in that attack, so with her free hand, she did a well-placed hook to Jack's side, sending him flying across the small arena.

Jack slams his long sword into the ground so he doesn't get rung out.

Taking his sword out of the ground he then charged toward Nyxondra "Lions charge" Jack puts his two swords pointing toward Nyxondra. With his sword pointing towards her in a stabbing motion, gaining speed. Nyxondra seeing this, increased the amount of her magic around her hands making the green substance thicker and putting her hands in the path of the swords.

Sadly for Jack, he was unable to react or make a counter as he was moving too fast for himself so was unable to change directions. he stabbed into Nuxondra's magic, his sword piercing into her hands ever so slightly but apart from that all that happened was his sword melted.

Jack dashes backwards and starts to chant the spell.

"Oh, the spell I taught you, Jack, I'll let you do this last ditch effort as you were entertaining to fight."

After around 3 seconds of chanting Jack finished his spell, "Water dragon's ROAR!"

A blue magic circle appears around Jack's mouth, and a blast of high-pressure water shoots towards Nyxonra along with a dragon-like roar. While this happens a thin layer of mana surrounds him in a mama shield.

Nuxondra breaths in for a second then lets out her dragon roar, this one is a sickly green colour that melts anything it touches, this can be seen as parts of the floor have melted from the acidic nature of Nyxondra's magic but unlike Jack, Nyxondra's comes out as a concentrated fire mixed with acid.

The two roars come into contact in the centre of the arena, becoming a sort of beam clash between both combatants.

After a struggle in the centre, the clash starts to go in Nyxondra's favour heading towards Jack.

"No, not yet, I can still fight."

As Jack thinks this, unknown to him a small amount of blue energy starts coming from his body.

Sadly for Jack this unknown force doesn't emerge quickly enough as the beams hit him, the mana shield he put up melts quickly under the power of both blasts going into him, his mana shield melts into pieces. The necklace he is wearing glows, and he is teleported outside the arena.

Nyxondra

" stand proud, you are the strongest in this class… part for me of course. A smug face follows the comment.

"Can I take these restrictions off now, I hate how they look, and feel," Nyxondra asked the teacher.

She gets ignored

Mr stone" As this is a punishment Jack you will not be healed of any injuries you might have sustained when fighting Miss Nyxondra. Also, do three laps of the school within 30 minutes or you'll be spending your lunch break training with me.

"Ok, sir."

Jack then headed out of the room and attempted to do the task he was given by his teacher.

so I will explain a bit about this school while Jack is doing things, oh and hi, I'm just a fellow observer like you lot, just have a bit of authority, unlike you lot, any way you want to know about the school so I'll tell you a bit about it.

this school is called Azure's shield

This is the main school of this city also known as the hero's school as most of the heroes of this world have gone to this school, it has a large mix of races. There are a lot of nobles and noble children who go here as well as royalty, commoners and otherworlders.

depending on how high in the ranking you are will affect what living spaces, and resources and depending on the teacher, the treatment you get.

There are 5 sections to the school going from section A to E.

A

A is the main area where most classes take place except rune and potion making as these can become extremely deadly if done wrong

B

Section b is where the training ground arena and school dungeons are.

the training ground has appropriate tools lightweight to heavy weights, practise weapons, dummies a small sparing area and a small training room with gravity magic, only high grades students of the purple Snake to black dragons can gain access, black dragons can access this training at any point while the purple snakes can only have up to 20 hours a week.

The Arena is for bigger events that involve tournaments, and duals. They are close to the school dungeons.

The school dungeons are artificial dungeons that the school have made that are meant to mimic real dungeons under supervision so students do not get hurt.

C

The teacher's quarters this is for talking to teachers after class and where they do a lot of paperwork.

D

This is the location for potions and rune making and studying, this place is further away from any other sections and has been reinforced with runes, magic and extremely sturdy metal, all these are safety messers to help contain any dangerous accidents that might happen when studying and practising

E

This is the student living quarters and there are multiple areas, you will be put in different areas depending on rankings, the areas are called bronze turtle, silver goat, golden lion, purple snake and black dragon these go from worse to best. Purple snake and black dragon are for the elite and super elite and are the only ones that are unable to buy your way into.

Living quarter rankings

The bronze turtle

is a nearly decent area with very small rooms and the basics in each one with a shared kitchen, the basic entails, an uncomfortable bed, a small desk and a basic but small wardrobe.

Silver goat

is better off as it has a larger room, a basic comfy bed, a basic wardrobe, personal bathrooms, a good desk, and they allow pets.

Golden lion

is even better with large comfy and more fancy beds, a personal training area, large fancy wardrobes, allows pets, a personal kitchen, access to better resources when studying, allows higher access within the liberty.

Purple snake

Elegant and comfy bed, elegant wardrobe, personal butler, professional diet plan personal training area, pets allowed, monster pets allowed, personal kitchen access to better resources when studying, allow higher access within liberty.

Black Dragon

For the top ten of each year or the second level or higher hero mark, this allows you to get unique skill books for you to buy, able to access any level dungeon and 60% of the resources from any school dungeon they complete, they have their own building with its own private security's.

I barely make it back before the 30 minutes are up, I am panting like a dog though, had to sprint the entire time to make it, I want my lunch break.

I entered the classroom and saw a sparing match happening, it's between two mages, sadly it was sorta boring as they were just standing still and chanting, so whoever cast their spell first wins.

that's all that happens in this class, sparing and training, it's mainly physical training though so there are not many full mages in this class, there are some sword spells or whatever it was called but most only enhance their physical ability not many cast spells, well or they use aura, some people just can't awaken a mana core and instead have to train extremely hard to only have a change of awakening aura, it's strong though, well I hear its strong, apparently are teacher mr stone has it but he's never shown it off for some reason.

I'll just go and sit down next to Nyxondra and just chat.

"sooooo Jack, how's the search for your fox friend going?"

"Sadly not well, even though my dad and his teams have taken a bunch of this pestilence's bases and labs, nothing has come up yet, I'm starting to worry we'll never find her."

...

"but I can't give up yet, we will find and help her. Oh right, I need to do that talk with Sapphire, I'll do that soon."

Skip to lunchtime

"System active the telepathy to Sapphire," Jack says in his head.

{avtivating the telepathy jack, have a nice chat.}

Dial-up noises

"Hay, MC, it's John, have the boons helped?"

"John… hey… ye...they helped…fucking prick!" almost all the sentence had little emotion within it expert the last bit, a lot of rage was present in that word.

An unknown person in the background" You're becoming less talkative, beast, seems I need it to start 'training' you a bit harder." a thud of metal can be heard.

"Mc what's happening?!"

"Nothing for you to worry about."

"I don't believe you, what's happening."

"Doesn't matter, it's good to hear from you… it's nice hearing a friendly voice for once…how's it going with finding me."

"I'll be honest MC, not well, but we will find you soon ok, just hand in there."

"… ye… will do… keep it up."

Cracking can be heard as something heavy and metal can be heard going into the flesh.

"Oh, you're still able to move after that, I would say it's Impressive, but, why would I, You're just a lowly beast, not even a good tool for combat and we're not allowed to have fun, so, guess I'll break the other."

A surge of static overcomes the connection.

{Connect lost}

"System what happened?!"

{I don't know Jack, the only thing I can think of is she cut the connection… witch how! I didn't know I could be hung up on!}

"We need to help her somehow."

{… there is a way, but you will be sacrificing your sp.}

"Done."

{are you s"

"Yes just do it"

{Jack, you need them for yourself, how do you expect to}

"She clearly needs them more, so do it!"

{ok, opening shop… opening sp section.… buying stat boost, sending it to Sapphire system, buying will increase… buying basic defence skill, stone skin… refunding Sapphire already has Stone skin, transforming stone skin skill into exp for the Same skill... Buying temporary slow healing… Sapphire is not affected… gifting Sapphire the remaining sp…no more sp available.}

Nyxondra" sooooo, how's it go."

"She hung up on me."

"She can do that?"

"Apparently so."

"Can I ask what happened?"

Jack then explains what happened.

"Oh, oh shit that's not good, she definitely cut it off because you were Listening to what was happening."

"Ye, I gathered, but now I can't speak until I find her… what am I meant to do now, I was meant to cheer her up, but all I did was make things worse."

"That's not true Jack, you help her way more than you think, she's alive because of you. She stayed strong because you talked to her and stayed with her, even if it's only mentally."

"I guess ye."

Time skip the end of the school day

Nyxondra" Oi, where are you going did you forget."

"I'm going to train Nox."

"You totally forgot, You're not going to train, take out the card or I'll find the card with or without your consent."

"Ok ok, here have the stupid card."

"… what did you just call this card."

"It's just a stupid card, like go by yourself, I need to train."

"No"

…

"What do you"

" I mean no, you promised you'd take me so we're going, do I need to fly you there?"

"No not again, I threw up so much, we are walking there right now ok, just… stay grounded."

"See that wasn't hard."

Jack just sighs and follows the over-enthusiastic dragon with a card.

After a while of following the jumping dragon, they come across the restaurant.

Jack "What, this is not where it was last time."

"Don't worry about that, you're wasting time, the time we could be eating with.

They enter the restaurant… well Jack was almost dragged into it as his hand is being held tightly by the tall dragon girl.
