Chapter 6 of The Frozen Slayer

Jacks pov

"Jack, I've told you already, it's too early for you to do weighted training, we are all doing our best, so, just rest for a bit ye, you've been training for the last 3 hours," Athox says with a bit of worry but is proud of his son for trying so hard.

Jack "Fine, I'll rest for a bit… how much stronger do you think I need to be before I can help find Sapphire?"

"I'd say around mid-C rank before I invite you, you have plenty of time so just keep up with your training, you get there in no time."

"Dad I only have until I'm 15 to save her, that's not long, and with me going to school it's lowering my training speed."

"And both me and your mum have stated you need to go to school it provides a lot of benefits, one of those being a free big ass library with all the information you ever need, a bunch of battle experience without risking your life, along with allies you will be able to trust full heartedly, like that Nyxondra girl."

"I know, I know, it just doesn't feel like I'm doing enough, as I'm not strong enough to access a lot of the extra features I got gifted it extremely frustrating."

"I understand Jack, now as you're resting I should tell you, it's almost time for school so you might want to get ready."

"Why didn't you tell me that first jeez."

"Well, you said you wanted more training time so."

"Very funny dad, I'll see you later."

Jack then goes to take a quick shower and change into his school clothes.

Jack is now 13 years old he has medium-length black hair that's well looked after, and his red eyes seem to Pierce into the soul. He has a basic sword outline tattoo on the back of his hand. (the hero mark)he is well tones from sword training and basic hand-to-hand training.

His school uniform is black with blue lining throughout it and has a pin on his left side that resembles a purple snake.

Jack then leaves the mansion he happens to live in.

"Play a random song" Jack thinks to himself

{random song acquired dogs like socks now playing}

Jack heads towards the school grounds, this walk takes around 30 minutes.

As I walk the streets I take in some of the views and try to visualise how this would be different with MC here by my side, their stupid jokes, and pointing out something stupid like the clouds look like a bone or something… man, I hope you're ok, ill have to check on them soon I didn't use the telepathic talk thing last year so I should be able to check up on them.

As I was so focused on thinking about a fake scenario with MC making stupid jokes I walk into an older lady.

"Ah sorry miss I was lost in thought, you ok" I then lend her a hand up.

"It's okay kid, young love does that to you I guess." a sweet smile plastered her face.

"That's not. Never mind, the boxes seem a bit heavy, would you like me to help carry them for you."

"Oh, that would be fantastic Dearie."

I then helped carry the 3 three boxes she was once carrying and take them to a restaurant called The Heavenly Scent."

"I've never heard of this place, can I ask what it is?"

"Oh dearie, it's only the best restaurant in the continent, it's famous for bringing in beast kin with the smells so they made it into a small game for them. if they can find the place by scent of smell, then they can get a free meal and as they can't lie when inside because of some magic shenanigans it's a nice little game to watch."

"Oh ok, interesting I might try it out after school."

"Well, you might as well have this then, it is a one-time use tracking card so, good luck and use it wisely."

"Ummm ok' why a tracking card, it's not like it moves."

Oh shit that took longer than I thought, and it took me in the wrong direction nooo I'm going to be late for Mr stones class, oh no.

I then run as fast as I can to the school grounds.

{hero's mark}

{the hero mark has 6 stages, with the third stage the hero's stats increase, and they gain additional Abilities, and gain extra sp and exp the higher the hero mark is, the more sp and exp they gain each level.

The first stage called the hero candidate this all does is show people you have the potential to become a hero. It's just a fancy tattoo with what you're proficient in.

{The second stage called hero recruit, this allows for the hero to summon his weapon to him, and have an inventory to store a small number of items and a hidden feature. It also provides the hero with a boost to sp and exp by 1.5 times.}

{The third stage called beginner hero the sp and exp boost goes to two times, it also grants a 5% boost to all stats while proving a hero skill along with it.}

{The fourth stage is called intermediate hero, this stage increases the sp and exp to a 2.5-time and a 10% boost to all stats along with gaining an additional hero skill.}

{The fifth is called advanced hero, the sp and exp gain is now increased to 3 times, and you gain an additional hero skill and a 20% increase to all stats.}

The sixth and final stage is called true hero, this will increase your exp and sp gain by 5 times and will boost all your stats by 2 times, you will also gain one more hero skill}

{life sense}

{this allows you to sense life, allowing to see scout out areas and see a general idea of how healthy someone is, allows you to see someone's HP bar.}

{death's reverse hand}

Death's reverse hand allows the wilder to stop someone's soul from leaving the body, allowing them to be healed and as death granted you this ability she will not bring down any ill effects to the wilder if used. This can be used once every week.}

{life steal}

{This allows you to steal a small amount of ho from your opponent when you strike them to heal yourself, you can use this 5 times a day}

{judging sight}

{you have gained the ability to see the morality of someone and if they are good or bad. the user of this ability can judge someone and if the judged person is killed by the user, the user is able to send them to whatever realm the user deems fit for them to go from the karma/moral they had when alive. If you misuse this power you will be punished by the god of death.}

{group chat(locked)}

{ this is a chat group connected to a group of otherworlders from different timelines, worlds and universes, this will grant the people part of the group chat to share information, techniques and items, whatever currency used will be transferred into the seller currency. This also allows the people part of the group to join in dungeons together. As the user is too weak all you can do is read the chat.}

{instant dungeons(locked)}

{this allows the user to open an instant dungeon that is unique, it will drop items, gold and exp, the people from the group chat can assist as temporary summons.}

{other world dungeons(locked)}

Similar to the instant dungeons but can become a raid, which will allow for bigger rewards but will force all members of the group chat to participate.}

{lion bloodline}

{the lion bloodline grants you a boost to sight and smell, as well as physical strength and a boost in your presence. As you are human it has been dilated and is less potent within you, this makes it so you do not gain monster traits like a monster core, innate skills or magic and no effect or gain for a personality quirks.}

{black fang's sword style}

This sword style was made and perfected by the black fang also known as Skannon, you gain this fighting style through a self-made skill book and were gifted it from the black fang, you can learn this fighting style to 100% with no drawbacks as long as your stats are high enough to perform said moves.}

{ dragon tongue}

{this allows you to speak draconic, and as you where taught by a dragon, it allows you to cast similar spells to dragons, this can also be called dragon slayer magic when developed properly.}

As I rush towards mr Stones's class I can see a relatively large/tall girl, she has black wings coming from her back, a strong dark tail that ends in a spear-like appendage, and she is wearing a recently modified school uniform, it is black with red lining throughout, what would be long sleeves are now torn at the shoulders, showing her arms and she is wearing trousers instead of a skirt, and has a black dragon pin on her left side.

she has long dark hair with green undertones and horns coming out her head which are back in colour with green tips, she has dark green, slitted pupils. Along her arms are tribal tattoos in the shape of swirls, and a bone necklace.

(A rough picture of what she looks like, but you know with the colour scheme and clothes I stated before.)

Nyxondra" There you are Jack, was wondering where you disappeared to."

"Morning nox, so I got distracted, but I got this one-time use card to some restaurant, I'm wondering if you've heard of this place?"

I then hand over the card to Nox.

Nyxondra" No way, ... YOU HAVE TO TAKE ME HERE RIGHT NOW!, do you have any idea on how good this place is?"

"N, not really, from your reaction though I guess it's pretty good though."

Pretty good, PRETTY GOOD! That's an understatement, it's settled, you're taking me there today, and you're paying."

"The fuck you mean I'm paying, all you do is pig out then, no."

" I promise you, from what I've heard it will be cheaper if you pay than me, they focus on being like me with heightened senses and make us pay more."

"Really."

"Yes really."

Jack "So why are you out here anyway?"

"Mmm oh, that's because I used my magic on someone in sparing."

"Oh, they're not melted are they?"

"Hey! I'm not that bad at controlling it anymore. Nuxondra then whispers under her breath," They might be a bit taken off the shoulder though."

"What, I didn't catch that last bit?"

"NOTHING… ah I think Mr stone wants to see you so you should go in now." she then starts pushing Jack into the classroom.

"Wait, wait, I'm not ready, oh hi Mr stone, you look, um shiny, I mean menacing today."

Mr Stone" …, that's not funny Jack, it's not nice to make fun of someone's baldness."

"So why are you late."

"I bumped into an elderly lady on the way, and I saw she had a lot of heavy boxes so I helped Carry them for her, I got a bit distracted and didn't realise I Was heading in the wrong direction."

"Well, it's good you are helping people, sadly it's not good you're late, so your punishment will be… to spar a person of my choosing, and they will be... Nyxondra."

"Noooo."

"Yesssssss!"

Mini story

Jack" So what are we doing here again Nyxondra?"

"Why, don't you want to be alone, with me, something stirring inside you Jack?"A smug smile on her face.

"Oh, how did you guess," Jack said sarcastically

"See I knew it, my insight knows no bounds, but really, did you not read the brief we got?"

"We got a briefing?!"

"No, but you got a piece of paper saying we would be going into one of the school's dungeons to do a test, just so happens we're on the same team, best bud."

"Ok so, what do we do."

"Well, there a lot of things we could, do like as theirs no one watching."

"STOP IT"

"Fine, it's just funny seeing you flustered, anyway we have to clear this dungeon as fast as possible, that's it."

"Umm, but that's not."

" not be Fair for the others no, because I'm on your team so it's gonna be easy as pie.

wow Jack I didn't know you had so much faith in me, and yes, you'd be right." a toothy smile starts to emerge."

"Dodge left Nox"

Nuxondra lightly jumps left, avoiding a rusty dagger, with a goblin attached to the end of the handle.

Nuxondra seeing this, decides the best course of action would be to fling her tail at its face, smashing the very unlucky goblin to die on impact."

"You know what they say about tails Jack?"

"I'm gonna regret this… what."

"Thick tails, Better than thighs."

"Oh my god."

"What didn't like it? I got more."

"Why are you like this."

"See we have great fun together don't we."

Jack, in fact, didn't have fun."

Hello sorry for the short chapter anyway, I just sort of didn't know what to write about and still have it end with the no, yes thing, soz.

hope you like the small mini-story they will eventually get longer and have a bit more stuff.

PS I will only be uploading around 2 to 3 chapters a week, I'll try to do at least monday and Wednesday or a Friday.

It might become less soon as I might be getting a bit busier, the reason is that I have a job appointment on Tuesday, and if I get the job, well I will be a bit occupied. I'll let know if I get it though, otherwise I will just be doing college stuff. (UK collage not US College I hear they have different meanings)

I'll attempt to upload at around 10am UK time but if people want I can release it at a later time as I do know of the existence of time zones :3 .
