Fifteen years ago, a demon plucked the forbidden fruit and ate it. He is in love with his host, and is willing to abandon his dimension for her. To add insult to injury, he is the one and only, demon king: Orzar His action came at a cause, tearing space and time, creating a gigantic wormhole, connecting our world, to another, to hell. Opening a slaughter field as demons, monsters, spiritual beings. Beings of myth and legend flooded our world. Starting a war between dimensions, millions were dead, and the numbers are still rising. Those occupations that seems like joke and witticism started to become the list line of defense from those beings. Exorcists, priests, taoist hunters stood out, protecting humanity and finally forcing them back to their dimension, temporary. Those who are still left were taught to learn knowledge of such, humanity needed to arm to the teeth to fend off the second invasion, that is happening fast. With Fei being one of them, a what seems like a weakling, but someone with a very complicated and in fact dangerous background...
Today, Fei stay back at school once more to find his school license. He headed towards the training zone, where he is pretty sure that's the place he'd left it. And his biggest bet is that it accidentally fall out of his pocket while he was testing his luck on the punching drum. He take the lift once more, this time without any more bullies stopping on his way.
"Hey, move! Kid!" The moment the lift arrived, he was surprised by two adults. One of them waved his hand impatiently, trying to tell him to get out of the elevator. "S-sorry!" Fei immediately slip out of it, he didn't wanted more trouble. "W-what happened?" He asked seeing the two adults carrying the punching drum into the lift, straining due to it's weight. "The drum is broken, we needed to bring it back to repair and maintain." His co-worker replied Fei's question, wiping the sweat off his forehead with the back of his hand. "Someone must've punch it too-" Before he could finish, the closing elevator door cut it all.
"Huh" Fei tilted his head towards the side slightly. "Looks like that machine sure is broken."
"Hey Aunt Mey." The moment he enter the chamber he saw Mey busy cleaning up. "Oh, hi Fei!" Mey greeted back, still as cheery as ever. "You move out of your dorm?" She asked, Fei scratched the back of his head. "Well… it is a long story." "Why are you doing here, then?" She asked, cleaning the mop in her hand. "I, I am trying to find my student license." Fei asked. "Did you found it while cleaning?"
"No, I didn't." She shook her head. "Well, that's really bad." Fei let out a deep sigh, looks like he needed to redo the annoying process once again. "Hey, you sure you don't wanted to move out from the dorm?" The topic of conversation return once more. "Why should I?" Feir didn't quite seems a valid reason to do so. He once thought that he should come clear the whole situation to Aunt Mey since she is quite nice to him, but his tragic life caused him not to easily believe anyone, not even himself. "Just that, I afraid it will affect your grades." She let out an awkward chuckled. "I am going to do more cleaning, can you move aside for a bit?" "Oh, sorry, sure." With that Fei duck away from the incoming mop and leave the training zone.
"Hey."
The minute he decided to let another deep breath of pain and suffering, someone called out. He turn her head and found a girl beside him. Leaning against the metal doorframe of the training zone. "Y-you are…" He take a long look at her before finally recall back the events that happened at his classroom earlier in the morning. "Erina, right? Erina Van, wait you are a Van Helsing!?" It is at now he realised his identity. More memories gushed up in his mind once more, thinking how he treated her, he felt like he'd messed up, big time.
"…" She refuse to say anything, just staring at him with those red marble like pupils. It was after quite of while of awkward silent that she finally do something. She reach her hand into the pocket and take out a student license, handing it out to Fei. It was not hers, but rather, his. Now looking back, she is the one that is at the training zone last night. He felt a bit of embarrassment, since that it means she may or may not saw him playing with that punching drum and failing like a little kid.
"Uh, thanks?" "…" She put her mask on before finally saying something. "You are welcome." Her voice is very soft and weak, a little unnatural, like she hadn't talk to anyone for ages. But since the strong are always lone wolfs, this depiction seems to fit her personality very well. She is no ice cube; she is the entire Everest. "You…" She reach her finger out suddenly and pointed at Fei's heart.
"Who are you"
Me?
Yeah.
Who am I?
"Grandma!" Young Fei screamed as her grandmother desperately waved the brush in her hand. Amulet sheets were conjured, holding down dozens of the incoming demons, but more took their place. It is like slaying a hydra, if she was back at her prime, she might fought them off easily, but she is an old woman right now. Her body breaking down at every second, her lungs felt like mush, her hand shaking, her palm bleeding from all those excessive writing.
"Grandma!" He screamed once more, this time successfully gaining her attention. She turn her head towards Fei, who is banging desperately against the wall of the dome. Crying, sobbing, he is just a child after all, but he held so many responsibilities, too much, in fact. "Grandma, is going to a better world." She let out a weak chuckle, blood dripping down her lips. "Listen to grandma, alright?" She is smiling, yet, she is crying.
"You are a hero, Fei. You will be one." With her remaining power, she wrote her final words. The brush in her hand dancing in the air, creating golden lining that sums up into a Taoist symbol of: SEAL. "Grandma, can only stay with you till now. Remember the bus stop? Grandma's stop has arrive…" She pushed her hand forward softly; the word was combined with an amulet slip. She waved the brush one last time, the slip dash towards Fei, taking it's place at the back of his head. "One day, you, will need to control yourself. One day, the world will needed you." The brush in her hand dropped, the wall in between her and a thousand demons began to crack and shatter. Demons burst through the force field, darting, jolting towards her, their arms outstretch, mouth wide open, the razer sharp fang and claws ready to tear her apart. With her final moment, she gave Fei a V sign, the one she always did.
"Be good for me, alright. Fei?"
