THE FIFTH ELEMENT

Story written by AnnieBeck Title: THE FIFTH ELEMENT A thousand years ago, there was an ancient world that was ruled by gods and goddesses. But when it was time to go back into the heavens, these mighty beings bestowed some of their powers to four trusted mortals that served them. The four mortal men and women each received a different elemental power in order to keep the balance on this world. Azuu got the power of the fire element. Myra got the power of the water element. Zed got the power of the Air element. And Suri got the power of earth element. After the beings had disappeared into the sky, the four mortals lived in peace and harmony with each other and their families separately. As time went by, other people from far and nearby villages came to witness the power that was granted to these mere mortals like them. They were in awe. Some were envious while some were frightened. It was rare to see these kind of powers emit from a mortal. After several years of peace and harmony.... These special mortals gave birth to children of their own who also possessed these gifts. They knew that the mighty beings had given them gifts that would last for generations and they were thankful. When the children of these mortals grew up to adolescence, their parents each, started a lesson for them, teaching them ways they can control their abilities and become a great elemental.. As these children progressed in age, the son of the fire lord and the daughter of the lady of the water tribe fell for each other deeply. These two children grew up to love each other, however when their parents noticed what was going on between the two children, they had to put a stop to it , for they feared the outcome might be terrible and might befall on them all. They told each of them horrible stories of what might happen if they end up marrying each other but these two were headstrong and they continued with their love story. After some years... they children grew up into powerful adults and decided to marry each other. But this marriage was the beginning of Chaos. ** The newly married couple welcomed their first child, but this child had both fire and water elemental power. This brought about division among each of the elemental clan. The mortals couldn't allow anyone to posses more than one elemental power as it might bring inbalance to the world, so they had to sentence the innocent new born to death. The fire Lord told his son that the water tribe was responsible for the demise of the new born child in order to keep the children away from each other. The water tribe leader also told her daughter that the fire tribe was responsible for the demise of the new born child. This lie caused the hatred that spread around the fire clan and the water tribe.

THE FIFTH ELEMENT 🌊🔥🌪️⛰️☯️

Chapter 5🌊

While at school, I couldn't concentrate on what the teacher was saying.

I kept thinking about home.

What would happen when I tell those people to their faces that I would never go with them.

My mom told me I had gifts... what sort of gift could it be.

Weird things have happened around me before but I didn't give much thought to it.

"Cassie, why don't you give us the answer to the question. You seem to be paying attention to this class." the teacher said to me which brought me back to reality.

Everyone was staring at me now, expecting me to answer.

"I'm sorry I didnt hear...I don't know the answer. Sorry." I stuttered a bit.

"And that is why you should be paying attention in class everyone, to avoid embarrassing yourself in front of everyone else." the teacher said and the whole class started laughing at me.

"You see Cassie, I didn't even ask any question. I just wanted to see if you were in this class with us, or somewhere else. Please pay attention." the teacher said to me and I nodded.

I tried to listen attentively for the rest of the class.

During lunch time at the cafeteria, I was sitting with Veronica and her friends, Eric and Abby.

I kept zoning out most of the time and Veronica noticed it.

"Hey Cassie, do you have a problem? Your mind seems to be elsewhere." Veronica said to me.

"Sorry I'm just thinking. About something. It's not important so don't worry about it." I say to her.

I could never tell anyone what my mom told me about having gifts.

"Are you sure?"

"I'm sure." I say to her and smiled.

"Well well well, the new girl's having crisis." I heard someone say behind my back and I knew who it was instantly.

"Seriously, don't you have any other thing to do than talking to me." I turned back to face the mean girl and her minions.

"After what you did to me? You think I don't know that you had something to do with what happened to my vision the other day?" Lisa said to me and I started to panic a little.

"I don't know what you're talking about." I denied it and she scoffed.

"Oh I think you do. You are a freak of some kind. And freaks like you should be locked up somewhere." she said and I got mad.

"If anyone is a freak here, it's you. Oh and you two as well." I say and pointed at two of Lisa's friends that's just standing behind her like statues.

"Ohhh you little shit." Lisa said while coming closer to me.

I took some steps closer to her as well, just close enough to whisper in her ears.

"You're right. I had something to do with what happened to your vision. And I can do much more horrible things to you if you don't stop pestering me. Consider this a warning. If you want to keep using those eyes of yours, you better avoid me." I stepped back away from her and smiled.

The pale look on her face was exactly what I wanted to achieve.

"Let's just go girls. She's not worth it." Lisa said to her friends and they went back to their corner.

"Wow, I've never seen her scared of anyone. What did you say to her?" Eric asked me.

"Yeah what did you say?" Veronica also asked.

I just shrugged my shoulders at them without saying anything.

After school that day, I went home using the school bus again. I didn't bother waiting for my mom. I knew she wouldn't come pick me up.

As expected, when I got to my house, the neat black SUVs were parked already.

I summoned enough courage before going inside the house.

"Child we've been waiting for you." the dirty blonde haired woman stood up and said immediately she saw me.

"Waiting? Why? I don't owe you people anything, do I?" I asked sarcastically.

"We don't have time for this, are her things ready?" the black haired woman asked my mom.

"Yes. Over here." my mom replied and pointed towards my bags and boxes that were packed and kept at a corner.

I looked over to the bags and over to my mom in shock.

How could she do this to me.

"Good." the dark haired woman said and snapped her fingers.

The men in suits started carrying my bags outside the door, into the SUVs.

"Mom?.. what is this? Why are they moving my bags?" I asked my mom.

"I'm sorry honey. But this is what's best for you. You'll see. Soon." she replied.

"No! I'm not leaving. I'm not going anywhere with these people. Please don't do this to me mom. Please!" I pleaded with her but she didn't bulge.

"I don't have a choice Cassie and neither do you." she said to me.

I got so angry at her for what she was doing.

"I hate you! I hate all of you. I wish you would choke!" I yelled at her and suddenly, she started choking on the spot.

My mom was choking uncontrollably and I started panicking.

Was I doing this?

"Child. Stop what you're doing this instant." the dark haired woman said to me sternly.

"I'm not doing anything. I swear." I said not sure of what was happening.

"Yes you are." the bald man finally said something.

I looked over to him and said, "No I'm not."

"Child. You're out of control. You need to want what is happening to your mother to stop. You're killing her." he said calmly to me.

"But..I just said what I said, that doesn't mean I wanted it to happen." I said not sure of what to do.

"Yes you did." the man said to me.

"i said no I didn't!!" I yelled at him and he started choking as well.

Next thing I knew a heavy weight of water pushed me to the wall and I blacked out.
