The Chimera reached the base of the towering pillar, it was a black structure with an innumerable amount of runes etched from the bottom up to the very top as far as the eye could see.
It was an Architectural work of art, like the tower of Babylon that mortals tried to build to reach the heavens only this time it was a tower built by gods to discard a haven.
At the base of the tower was a looming beast, it had a head full of horns that seemed to for a crown. It had noir scales that carried a darkness so deep that only the deepest parts if space could contend.
It wings were large and leathery also black in color, they were currently folded but Valmus could tell that if opened they would at least be ten meters each.
From the back of its head right to the tip of its tail was a streamlined set of spikes that glowed with dim hue of darkness.
It's body was large almost larger than the chimera itself, it stood on all four as it's tail swung steadily with hints if laziness.
Upon seeing the Chimera the beast snorted as a puff of smoke escaped its nostrils, it opened it's jaws revealing a set of jaggered teeth all sharp and pointed, just as it was about to mock him its words seized as ut spotted a tiny human smaller than its smallest toe standing on the chimeras back.
A flash if realization passed through his mind forcing it to close it's mouth and accept what was to come.
"Vrag." The Chimera greeted out of courtesy from one Immortal Beast to another.
"M''oieri." The Dragon greeted back, as prideful as it was the chinera was one of the few he could call his equal be it in temperament or ability.
"It's about to start, are all the other pillar guardians ready?" The chimera asked, it had been some tine since he last spoke to the other beasts it was only right of him to be informed if they were ahead of or behind schedule.
"They gathered not so long ago, there's however something that demands your immediate attention."
The dragon paused before adding somberly.
"He wishes to see you, now."
The area around them darkened as a veil befell the Chimera and his rider, Valmus felt the stretching of space and displacement of time up close and personal thanks to his affinities to space and time.
Whoever had called for them was without a doubt powerful since the space he sent them to wasn't even an existing coordinate in any plane, it was an independent space self forged by whoever their caller was.
"M''oieri, you look as tired as ever." A voice lightly spoke to them, it was coming from the darkness which was everywhere around them.
Just then Valmus felt a gaze, one whose origin was right above him.
He raised his head lightly wanting to each tge visage of whichever persona had called for them, well the chimera.
He only saw darkness for awhile until the darkness turned into a throne and in the throne was a man.
A devilishly handsome man with inky black hair, equally black eyes and alabaster skin. He wore the darkness that surrounded him woven into a regal mantle and a pair of dark trousers.
His presence was suffocating and immense to the point where he could feel the creaking of his bones vividly, something he didn't think he would ever get to feel again.
The man on the throne grinned widly looking at Valmus before flooding the confined space with his pressure, Valmus was forced to kneel as even the chimera who he had thought yo be the strongest was forced yo lower his head before the man.
Despite kneeling however, Valmus did not lower his gaze. As weak as he was, even he had his pride, his oride as a warrior, his pride as a man, his pride as the person who reached the peak of his former life, to lower his head over someone who's existence wasn't even longer than a minute would surely be something he would rather die than do.
So he held his head high, even as he bked through all gis orifices, even as his creaking bones now had cracks, even as his heart beat thrummed wildly strained by the pressure, even as his blood slowed and trickled he refused to look away.
The man raised his brow as a flash if realization hit him, he then spoke finally after what seemed to be an eternity.
"When your Dao heart forms, it would be the most resplendent gem their ever will be. I hope when the time comes your gaze would still be the same and your temperament even stronger, for in this world weakness is but a sin."
After saying his piece the man lifted of his pressure, Valmus left out a breath he had unconsciously been holding as streams of sweat glowed down like a waterfall.
"I apologize for my actions M''oieri, I had to affirm somethings about your choice." He paused before smiling lightly. "You've chose well."
"It's understandable, I also had my own set if tests for the little one." The chimera replied before shaking the still stunned Valmus off his back.
Valmus fell into the embrace of the darkness that caught him and placed him down on his feet, bow he looked even more insignificant than he was before.
"Is there a reason for my summoning?" The Chimera finally asked.
"There was, I've already fulfilled one of the said reasons." He cast a passing glance at Valmus before continuing.
"The Divine realm seems to be aware of our plan, not that it was a secret anyway. Now they'll obviously try to interfere, I've already marked the other invaders remaining pillars."
"Now I only need to mark your chosen invader and use his vessel as an incarnation where I'll manifest when the time is right."
Just then Valmus could have sworn he had the voice of the system in all its monotone glory saying words he didn't hope to hear at the current stage of his bubble dive.
