Being Cradled
Zane was used to having fevers. His earliest memory of his fever had been when he was six and his mother had been gone for close to a month. He thought he would die but someone he woke up two days later, good as new.
This was the first time he had the memory of being so completely cared for and pampered while he was sick. Phoenix was really…amazing.
Even in the night when he was delicious, he still had the distinct memory of being wrapped in his embrace, a steady hand stroking his hair and once, he had been so hot, Phoenix had let him hug his cold tail. The transformation had lasted about twenty seconds and yet Zane had placed it among his fondest memories.
