My eyes grew wide from shock that she was kissing me, and then slowly drew to a close from the pleasure of the kiss.
Her lips was so soft and tasted sweet. There was a hint of strawberry taste on her lips. Probably from her lipstick.
I would love to know the name so I could buy it for her. Red suits her.
Just as I was sinking into the pleasure of her kiss the woman pulled away. The abrupt way she pulled away caused my eyes to snap open.
I was a little breathless and when I looked at the woman she was fifty feet away from me looking unruffled. Her perfect silky dark wavy hair was still as perfect as it was. Her expression impassive. The only indication of what we just did was her swollen lips.
Staring at the said lips made me want to kiss her again. I have never been kissed the way she kissed. Masterfully and possessively. Like she was staking her claim.
"We need to leave," she said curtly, her tone as cold as icicles. She walked away without sparing me a glance.
At her absence I collapsed against my seat, my shoulder sagging, my lungs exhaling deeply, and my head wondering what the fuck was going on.
She kissed me?
My heart skipped at the thought and also from the shock of it all. I mean she kissed me.
I don't know how many times I am going to repeat that, but it is worth repeating.
Why?
The only person that could answer the question disappeared on me like Houdini.
I slowly lifted my hand to caress my mouth, a lost in thought expression on my face.
"She is waiting for you."
I jumped at the sudden sound of a masculine voice addressing me. It was the goon with a clean shaved head. His brown eyes peered at me with concern. "Are you alright?"
I nodded and pulled myself from the seat and followed him out of the jet.
As I was climbing down the stairs a tall slim red head stepped out from the pilot side of the jet. She was wearing pilot uniform.
I arched a brow at myself for my misconception. I waved at her when she looked at me. She returned my wave with a friendly smile.
She was gorgeous.
There was a black SUV waiting few distance away, just like the one that drove us to the air strip.
The tall goon opened the back for me and I entered.
It felt like de ja vu, the only difference was that the woman hadn't kissed me when I joined her in the car.
If I was nervous the first time. The kiss made me a mess in her presence. While I quivered in my boots the woman was a picture of perfect calmness. She didn't even look my way when I entered the car.
I wanted to know badly what she was thinking. To know why she kissed me, but I swallowed all my questions and sat very close to the door. Squeezing into myself like I was trying to create a distance between us.
The car started moving taking us away from the private air strip into the main city. I have yet to recognize where we are.
My phone suddenly rang causing me to jump and drop it to the floor.
Shit! I bent searching for the ringing phone. When I found it I leaned back on the seat, and then took a look at the screen. It was Sophie.
The sight of her name filled me with relief. I was dying to tell her about the kiss. I wanted to speak to someone about it because it feels like I am about to explode.
Unfortunately, I couldn't talk. Not with the woman sitting calmly beside me inside the same car.
I contemplated picking or not, but then at the last minute I picked.
"Hello."
"Oh thank God. I thought you have been murdered," Sophie exhaled dramatically. "Why the fuck haven't your phone been going?"
I rolled my eyes at her dramatics. "Maybe because it is in plane mode," I answered sarcastically.
"All these while. Girl did you move to the other side of the planet?"
"Will you chill with the dramatics. It just been," I looked down at the leather watch in my hand. "Six hours." I frowned at how long it took to get from New York to where ever this place is.
"So have you found out where you are?"
I was about to answer when we got into the city and I immediately knew where we are.
"LA!" I exclaimed excitedly looking out the window. I have always wanted to visit this beautiful city. I can't believe I am in LA. I wondered if I will be able to run into any celebrity.
Kevin Hart is the first on my list. The guy is so funny.
"Bitch are you messing with me right now!" Sophie yelled through the phone snapping my attention away from all the amazing views outside the window to the call I was making.
"No girl, we just passed the Hollywood sign," I replied back in the same high pitched tone.
Sophie and I have always dreamed of coming to LA. Part of my dream of owning a bar was opening one in LA.
"Why the hell did you not take me with you!" Sophie exclaimed again. "I could have fit into your traveling bag," she joked.
"Girl, I have no traveling bag," I joked back and then looked out again. I stared at all the wonderful and beautiful things the city of LA has to offer with a big smile on my face.
I felt the woman look at me, but I pretended she wasn't even in the car. Nothing was going to spoil the fun of being in LA for the first time for me.
"What! What are you going to do for clothes girl. I know you just got rich, but LA is fuckingly expensive, you can't start buying shit there."
"I am not buying it, she is," I whispered, remembering the woman mentioning something like that.
"OMG! She pays you in hot mills, buys clothes for you. Next thing you are going to say she will buy you a house and a car."
"I don't Know about those, maybe. I really don't know what the plan is," I mumbled in a low tone again.
"Baby girl I am so jealous of you right now. Anyways if the woman is looking for someone to fuck her husband's brother, or even her brother could you let her know that you have a best friend who is willing and capable."
I suppressed the laughter that bubbled up to my throat. "You are so hilarious Soph. I have to go now," I muttered with a trace of amusement in my voice.
"Alright. Love you girl."
"Love you too." I ended the call.
"I don't have a brother that needs fucking, neither do my husband," the woman suddenly muttered.
I blushed ten shades of red. So she was listening to my conversation with Sophie.
"I am sorry about my best friend, she was just being a hoot," I said softly.
"She is certainly an interesting character, and I would love to meet her," she commented casually.
Her interest in my best friend made me jealous. I pushed the feeling away as soon as it came. I was being silly. It is not as if there was anything going on between the woman and I. I am only here to do a job for her.
"So where are we going now?"
"To your apartment."
"You got me an apartment?" My brow furrowed. I was confused because I don't know what the plan is.
"Well, darling, it will be weird if I show up to my house with you in tow. Certainly will be hard to explain your presence." She looked at me like this should have been plain to me, and me not knowing makes me sound stupid.
"You know I wouldn't have to ask you stupid questions if you could just tell me what the plan is. Seducing your husband doesn't exactly explain things."
"And here I thought the words were self explanatory," she mocked.
Argh! I felt like straggling the woman. I have forgotten how annoying and condescending she can be.
"I know they are, but I don't know your husband or how to meet him. You have got to give me more than seduce him to go on with. Or at least tell me your fucking name."
She opened her mouth to speak, but her phone rang before she could say a word.
