26. New Family ( Part-IV )

We all started to watch the movie. According to Sora who told me when Meiko was complaining to her mother. On Saturday night the whole family came early and watched movies together. It is to spend time together in their busy lives.

The movie was about to start and Narumi-san stood up and went to bring some popcorn for everyone to eat while watching. She then brought 5 medium size bowls to give everyone to eat their own.

In the middle of the movie, Meiko and Sora started to argue a little in hush voices. Meiko was done with her popcorn and was taking from Sora who also wanted to eat his own.

So I just gave my popcorn to her, "Take this Meiko, have mine. I didn't eat much."

She seemed to hesitate a little and asked in a low voice, "Are you sure Rei. Do you not want to eat it."

I just smiled and assured her, "It's ok Meiko, I won't be able to eat dinner afterward if I continue to eat."

She just smiled and took the bowl from me, hugged it as if someone would steal it, and started to eat. We all continued to watch the movies in silence as no one disturbed. After the movie ended Shirogana-san took out his phone to order some food.

He then turned his head towards us and asked, "So what should I order. Do you guys want to eat pizza, Italian, or any other."

Meiko raised her hand and told her opinion immediately, "Let's eat pizza."

He nodded as no one objected and ordered some pizza. I had no problems with eating pizza and in fact, I quite liked it, I and dad used to eat it quite a lot back when he was alive. Thinking about dad pained me and I felt sad remembering he is no more. I dropped my head and didn't say anything for a while as they continued to talk.

I then suddenly heard Sora say something which took my attention, "So, Otou-san are you going to play tomorrow in the game."

Hearing them beside me, I remembered that Shirogana-san would play an important game for a spot in the semifinals. I raised my head to see them and noticed Shirogana-san looking at me with some concern in his eyes. I just smiled at him as he probably noticed me feeling down.

He smiled back and answered Sora's question, "Yes Sora I will be going to play in the match. So I will leave the house to go and practice with the team tomorrow early in the morning."

"Make sure you win tomorrow Otou-san."

"We'll see how it goes Sora, nothing is decided until the match ends."

Sora nodded his head. Then the doorbell rang, probably the pizza and I was starting to get hungry. Narumi-san stood up to open the door. She came back with big boxes of pizza. Seeing all the pizza boxes I wondered if it would even get completed. Meiko stood up and went to bring everyone plates. We all started to eat. As soon as Narumi-san opened the box Meiko immediately took a pizza and started to eat. We all ate to full especially Meiko who probably had a small bulge on her stomach with all that pizza she ate.

We all cleaned up the place and we got back to our rooms. I went and lay down on my bed as I didn't get sleep yet. I stood up and went towards my bag and took out a ball that I had. I started to toss it around and play with it. I eventually felt sleepy and drifted off with the ball in my hand.

* NEXT DAY *

I woke up the next day feeling refreshed. I went to the bathroom and got freshened up. I went downstairs to see Narumi-san and Meiko-san talking and preparing breakfast. I didn't notice Shirogana-san in the hall and remembered he probably went to practice with his team as he told us yesterday night.

I went towards them and greeted both of them, "Good morning Oba-san and Meiko. Do you need any help in preparing breakfast?"

They both then turned around with a smile and said, "Good morning Rei." Narumi-san continued after thinking, "There is no need to help here Rei we both got it covered. Can you please go and wake up Sora he is still sleeping."

I nodded and went back upstairs. I stood in front of Sora's room feeling a bit nervous as it was my first time going inside someone else's room. I just took a big breath and opened the door. I immediately felt shocked by seeing his room. It was filled with baseball-related stuff completely. He had various sizes of posters of different people stuck on the wall. I could recognize some of them as they were legends in baseball. I then even saw various trophies. I slowly made my way towards his bed.

I went to him and shook him up a bit and said, "Wake up Sora it's time to eat." but there was no response from him. So I shook him harder and said in a bit louder voice, "Wake up Sora it's time to eat."

He just rolled and didn't respond. I took a deep breath and shook him harder and shouted, "WAKE UP SORA IT'S TIME TO EAT." He then finally responded, "I'm up Rei."

I told him again, "Come on Sora, Oba-san is calling." and went out of the room.
