The undeads noticed the scent of fresh meat nearby. Drooling, they rushed towards the scent and discovered a whole feast awaiting them.
Fresh meat just crawled out from the soil. Nothing could be more delightful.
With their mouths opened widely, they marched at them.
The survivors party rushed further away squealing and wailing. Some fought back with pebbles, few got bitten. It was the end for them. In their final moments they only regretted their inability to defend themselves. If only they hadn't lived on others favours, maybe they could've fought for themselves.
Being surrounded they only waited for their death. Amidst their sorrow, a few bullets pierced through the air and hit the hanging rocks of buildings. The rocks detached and fell on top of the horde of undeads.
Everyone gazed the scene with their surprise filled eyes. Just as suddenly Eudimor thrusted through the undeads.
Johan reduced the number of undeads by dropping the rock on them, Eudimor marched in for their rescue.
Hope returned to their eyes. Finally their saviours are here.
A shadow befell on their heads and the roaring sounds of wind blades entered their ears.
It was a chopper!
Eudimor glanced up and sighed. "So they've sent air support."
In the middle of their battle, Sved and Ran were surrounded by an army of people in white side buttoned tangzhuang uniform. They wore a navy blue belt on their stomach. The white (on top) and checkered (the opposite side) veil on their back was a bit longer than their tangzhuang suits.
"Cease your firings!" They said.
On their arms, the letters were boldly embroidered with navy blue threads, 'DOR'.
"13 per second." Mumbled Fein. Meanwhile as he was tied to a chair inside a classroom, he perceived some noises. He could hear the clattering sounds of boots walking closer to him.
"How did you know we were monitoring you?"
He raised his head.
"Maybe you should try to make your artificial Crows look more realistic."
"So you noticed."
Judging from the distance of her voice, she must be tall. She sounds a bit manly as well. She must have a strong physique to sound that way.
"You're the one with the dior uniform, right?" Said Fein.
The woman chuckled. "Hahaha. It'd be fascinating to walk in the middle of ruin with expensive uniforms on."
"Then… Are you from DOR?"
"Yes." The woman leaned closer to Fein and took off his blindfold. "After all your efforts to drag us on the surface, we had to show up."
Light fell on Fein's eyes. The first thing he saw mesmerized him. There was this lady standing in front of him with her sharp elegance. She was a woman of beauty. An angel in all white. Her bluish black hair like silk thread slid on her shoulders, side bangs tucked behind her ears. Sharp blue eyes decorated with long eyelashes.
The red belt around her stomach made it evident of her explicit curve. His eyes ran from her black hand gloves to the side of her arms, on the deep red embroidery of DOR.
"Why did you have to go to such lengths and ignite a war between groups? Please reason in a way that'd entertain me." Said the lady.
"I understand that the people behind the puppet show won't appear unless the show ends. So I had to take the initiative to end it."
"That's why you put people's lives at risk. So that we were forced to show up."
"Since you didn't for the past six months."
"Did the thought never cross your mind that some unrelated people may die?"
"It did. And that's why i proceeded with the idea. Until a few people died, the higher authority wouldn't come out in public."
Lies. He had already foreseen the outcome, hence proceeded with the idea.
She walked around Fein and untied his hands. "You really are amusing."
"Thanks. I'll gladly accept your compliments."
Fein rubbed his wrists on the black spots that formed from being tied too long.
"So. Why were you so desperate to meet us that you even went as far as putting other's lives at risk?"
"Do i need more reasons other than to go to a proper shelter?"
"Yes. Because that isn't your only reason."
Fein's locket glistened under the light.
"Its true that i only want to go to the shelter." He averted his head. "And please quit pressuring me saying that I put others' lives at risk. In the end y'all came before anyone died. So stop it."
How did he know? Wondered the lady. "Haha. You're cute."
"At least I'm not pure evil."
After untying Fein, the woman proceeded to the door. Finding Fein not following her, she looked over her shoulder, "Are you not coming?"
Fein crippingly stood up and dragged his injured feet. "Please excuse me while I limper. I'm an injured person after all."
"Very well." She smiled. "Take your sweet time."
The DOR took the entire unit of survivors to their grand Marine Vessel in the middle of the Pacific ocean.
