The blood snake brood

What is this feeling? Eren thought to himself a sharp pain followed by his vison focusing left him confused. Trying to move his arms and legs caused Eren's confusion to rise followed by panic as he felt his red scales slither across the hard rock surface.

W-where are my arms. Eren tried to speak but the words won't come out.

"Ssss-Sss"

The sounds leaving the mouth of the new-born snake were just incoherent sounds hearing this his head turned towards his body confirming the suspicions that arose. I'm a snake?.

"Ssss"

A cold wave of realisation hit Eren like a truck. Have I been reincarnated? he questioned himself but there was no doubt about it for what seemed like hours he laid there unable to move. Although suddenly snapping back to reality only when he noticed a large blue screen in front of him.

After reading through this blue screen in front of him Eren decided there was no use in panicking any further, it would simply be useless. Steeling himself Eren decided he would try to use his passive skill (Blood Trail) as he thought about using it suddenly his vision altered turning his eyes from black to red, he could now see red lines flowing deeper into the cave.

Deciding to follow these lines Eren's skill cut out after a 30 seconds which in turn drained his mana -1 point. Now after traversing deeper into the cave a gory sight lay in front of him, there were five 60cm dead snake body's which looked similar to Eren's with one of the body's being bitten into by a slightly larger snake.

Eren's intuition kicked in he was guessing the now dead snake's in front of him are his would be siblings being devoured by another of his siblings. Thinking about it now Eren realised he would need to hunt every day to eat meaning he would have to kill daily to survive, his emotions did not waver after this realisation instead embracing his new instincts knowing full well it was the only option.

Now looking at the snake in front of him as predator would do to prey he slowly slithered forward towards his brother that was feeding. Being so close that a wrong move could alert his prey the quick activation of the skill (Flash Strike) jolted his head towards his prey tightening his muscles, the two fangs stored in Eren's mouth were now fully extended and aimed towards his prey's head.

"SSSSSS-Sssss"

Were the dying sounds of Eren's last remaining brother he was the survivor from the brood of snakes.

Blood snake's were the top predatory snake of the Elengor continent the thick scales coupled with their fierce nature made an adult blood snake more than deadly. However the population was small because when hatched the baby snakes would viscously attack each other until only one remained the remaining snake would devour the rest of the brood making itself stronger.

The taste of blood flowed through Eren's fangs it was very pleasurable, without missing a breath he went from each dead snake to the other devouring every last drop of blood he could suck out from the corpses. Feeling refreshed and more powerful made him feel great his morals were shaken but there wasn't much he could do about it in the end it is survival of the fittest, now looking up to the blue screen again it read.

Happy with the results he realised the cost of mana for the skill (Flash Strike) was 2 and the skill had also increased by a single level, other than that from all the corpses Eren drank the blood from he had gained an experience point. His stats also increased after getting stronger from devouring all the blood of his brood, with a thought the screen disappeared and re-appeared on command it was very useful.

Eren was now slithering towards the entrance of the cave he was slowly getting used to his new snake body and senses as he draw closer to the light a warm ray of beam fell upon his scaley body. Re adjusting his eyesight in front of him laid luscious shrubbery and humongous towering trees with long vines wrapped around the bark. Not only the sight but the smells and sounds from this vibrant jungle lit up all of Eren's senses as his hunger was now increasing.
