Chapter 11– The one with the secret

Bloyd's POV

Chapter Soundtrack: Mother's Daughter by Miley Cyrus.

"You bet, I did. I know of your secret now, Bloyd. You don't have to hide it anymore."

I gulped again and held onto the handle of the knife even tighter.

So, she knew of my secret now. Well, too bad. I was going to end and bury her with that secret.

Goodbye, sweet, lovely princess.

"You are one hell of a sexy goddess underneath those baggy clothes you always wear." Arabella's next words caught me off guard.

"Sterling said so himself. We know your secret now. You're sexy." She gave me a wink and continued to read from her book while I frowned and loosened my grip against the knife under the sheets.

That was the secret? Not the moon crescent?

Well, Arabella was surely a lucky one.

A soft knock against the door caught our attention again and it opened to reveal a young man walking into the room. He was tall, almost the height of Alpha Alcot and he had brown, slightly disheveled hair. He had the handsomeness of a rogue and his face looked somewhat familiar to me. My memories finally came flooding in and I was quick to recall that he had helped me into the room with Arabella and some guards last night after I was released.

"Good morning, Sterling."

Sterling? Wait. He was the guy Arabella had mentioned who changed my clothes. He was the one with my secret. The one whose flesh this knife would tear into.

"Good morning, girls." He extended a small smile to Arabella who seemed to turn tomato red at his gesture. He turned his eyes at me and stopped just right across my bed. He looked me straight in the eye, the kind of look that pierced into my soul and told me they shared some secrets with me.

"You seem to be doing better this fair morning, Bloyd." The corner of his lips lifted in a small, fascinated smile.

I did not reply to him. My grip on the knife tightened again and I wished I could drive it into this heart this instant. If he thought he could play with me using my secret, then he was very wrong. No one manipulates me. I manipulate people.

"Did you have the chicken bone broth Arabella arranged for you?" He asked me, never taking his eyes off me for a second.

My reply was a deafening silence again and Arabella jumped in to save the moment, a bright smile pasted all over her face. My take? She had a crush on Sterling and was doing everything she could for him to take notice of her.

How much lamer could she get?

"Oh, yes. She did have the chicken broth. She was barely conscious when I fed it to her. I bet she wouldn't remember a thing."

I frowned and stared at her ridiculously.

"You fed me?"

"Not that I had an option." She rolled her eyes at me.

My frown deepened and I grimaced at the thought that Arabella had fed me while I was weak and probably in her arms or wrapped up pathetically on the bed. The thought that in that moment, I was weak and vulnerable made me feel so exposed and weak. No one should see me in such state. I should be tougher than a common fever.

"I'm glad to see that you were alright, Bloyd. We want to make sure that you're alive until the next thirty nine days."

"And after the thirty nine days, what are you going to do to me?" I finally opened my mouth to ask, my eyes still locked to his gray ones. "Cut my throat and throw me into a furnace of fire? Oh, I have a better idea. Bind me and feed me to your pack of wolves?"

Sterling raised a brow at my gruesome assumptions and Arabella rolled her eyes again.

"Don't take her serious, Sterling. She's always been this way. Dark, evil and weird."

"And yet, she's your friend?"

I scoffed, almost laughing at Sterling's words. A friend? I turned my head to Arabella again.

"Your friend? Was that what you told your brother that I was to you? Your friend?"

"Wait, she's not your friend?"

Arabella blinked and seemed to hold her breath. She looked from Sterling to me and back to Sterling again as if searching through her head for an appropriate reply.

"Whatever. I think that's between the both of you ladies to settle." Sterling sighed and spared Arabella the probability of a brain tumor. "The Luna wants you and your friend down for breakfast." He finalized and turned around to leave but Arabella's surprised voice called him back.

"My mother wants Bloyd to dine with us? Are you sure you're not mistaken?"

"Trust me, I wish I was." He answered and finally walked out of the room, shutting the door behind me.

Arabella turned her attention to me again, her eyes a little widened as if she had just heard the most absurd thing ever. I knew what would be running through her mind at this moment.

Why was the Luna inviting me for breakfast? Was it good or bad news?

"Brace up, Bloyd. You're about to have the most memorable breakfast of your life." Arabella blinked at me.

I'd go for the option of a bad news. Arabella was right. I have to brace up for the most memorable breakfast of my life. I hoped it would be the Alpha's head that would be served on a platter for breakfast. I'd have that over a cup of Starbucks coffee.
