You will never be me!

"Here. Drink this before you go to sleep." Jin Mingze said as he handed her a pill.

"This is?"

"Birth control pill."

She smiled and accepted it from her. She appreciated how thoughtful he was to her.

"Thank you." She took the glass of water from him before drinking the pill.

He sat beside her, he reached out and gently stroked her hair.

The loving look in his eyes confused Ye Shuxin when she saw it.

"What?"

"Nothing."

She pursed her lips and asked straightforwardly, "You're not thinking of Chen Rui, are you?"

He blinked a few times, "No."

"Really?"

"Do you want me to think of her?" He asked, raising an amused brow.

"No."

It didn't matter anymore since he finally has her back. He finally has her back but before he could introduce her to the world as 'Chen Rui' he needed to find out what happened. He needed to help her have her memories back.

Despite the small doubt inside him, he wanted to believe that the woman in front of him was really his real wife.

Every evidence was pointing to her so how could he not believe it?

It was just... something was missing, something felt wrong.

He watched her lie down. Having her within his reach brought warmth in his chest, making him smile.

He lied down beside her and hugged her by her waist.

She rested her head on his chest, closing her eyes. "Good night."

She loved the feeling of security he was giving her. It was so heartwarming to know that she finally entered his heart.

Later that night, Ye Shuxin woke up in the middle of the night and when she did, she saw Jin Mingze's sleeping figure beside her.

She was about to get up but then, she realized something. Ye Shuxin felt like she was holding something. Out of curiosity, she turned to look and when she saw what it was, her eyes went wide in surprise.

She was holding a knife that was covered in blood!

She quickly sat up and threw the knife away from her.

"M-Mingze... Jin Mingze... Wake up!" She shook his body but he wouldn't budge. Ye Shuxin felt something wet when she touched him and when she looked at it, it was blood!

The blood was coming from him!

"No... No... No... Jin Mingze! JIN MINGZE!" She tried to wake him up but failed.

"You killed him." A sudden voice was heard in the room.

When she turned, Ye Shuxin saw a woman, hiding in the shadow of the room.

"No... I-I didn't... It's not me..." Her voice was trembling and so was her body. Her heart was racing fast and she was breathing heavily. She started to hyperventilate.

"You killed him."

The woman stepped out of the dark and when Ye Shuxin saw her face, her eyes went wide, "C-Chen Rui?"

Chen Rui was looking blankly at her with cold eyes. The knife that Ye Shuxin threw earlier was now in her hand.

"I-I didn't kill him... It's not me! Not me!" She just woke up so it can't be her, right?

It was then that she realized something. She looked at her in horror, "You... why are you here?"

The woman didn't give her a reply but instead, a creepy smile appeared on the woman's face. It was just like one of those horror films where a ghost was smiling dreadfully at their prey.

"You... you killed him!" Ye Shuxin shouted.

"I killed him?"

Since Chen Rui was slowly approaching her, Ye Shuxin quickly jumped off the bed and ran towards the door, "Help! Someone! HELP!!!"

But the moment she opened the door, a white light flashed in front of her, and in the next second, Ye Shuxin noticed that she was sitting inside a vehicle.

Huh? What just happened?

"They're still following!" A man's voice was heard.

She was about to open her mouth to say something but everything went fast and a loud crash was heard.

She felt pain all over, her eyesight became blurry. She pushed her body to get out of the car and when she did, she saw grey smoke around her.

She tried her best to crawl away from the vehicle. "H...elp..." She tried to speak out those words. "He...lp..."

It was then that she saw a faint and blurry figure of a man, running towards her.

"Ms. Ye!"

"Help..."

She tried to reach out to the man but instead of going to her, he passed by her.

The next thing she saw was a faint figure of a woman and when her sight cleared up, she saw the same woman that she saw earlier. Her dress was covered in blood and she was still holding the knife.

"You will never be me!" And with that, the woman launched on her in an attempt to kill her.

...

A loud gasp was heard as Ye Shuxin sat up, waking up from that nightmare.

She was panting hard, breathing but the air just won't go in, like her lungs were surrounded by metal bands. 

Jin Mingze was a light sleeper so he woke up the moment he heard her gasp.

"Are you alright?" He asked worriedly.

Ye Shuxin's face was pale and she was covered with cold sweat.

She snapped her head to him and when she saw his face, tears instantly filled her eyes, "Y-you're alive?"

He was flustered when he saw her cry that way, "What... what's wrong?"

She leaned and hugged him as she cried. "You're alive... You're alive... I didn't kill you... it wasn't me..." She kept on mumbling. She was crying hard, making his shirt quickly wet.

Jin Mingze's heart felt like it has been stabbed when he heard her words.

He gently wrapped his arms around her and gently patted her back, treating her as if she was a fragile glass. "It's alright... I'm here. You just had a nightmare. It was just a dream."

Because of extreme fear and panic, Ye Shuxin cried for a couple of minutes.

Jin Mingze patiently stroked her back and when he saw that she has finally calmed down, he leaned back a bit from the hug so that he could wipe her tears away. With a soothing voice, he said, "I'm here, I'm here, alive. You didn't kill me. It was just a dream."

She turned her wet gaze to him and with a soft and helpless voice, she asked hoarsely, "I-it was just a dream?"

"Yes, it was just a dream. A bad dream."

She rested her head weakly on his shoulder, "I-it felt so real... The blood... her... that accident..."

"But it wasn't." He caressed her head, "It's just a dream."
