Chapter 53 The Gate Of Sorrow Part 3

"This one must tell you that we have gathered everything that is necessary for our urgent departure from the place that is this place, we must now only wait for the great lord Sixth to arrive before we can make our escape"

"Begin sending everyone and everything through the portal, this one shall wait for the great lord Sixth to arrive" I almost gagged when I said that, almost.

"This one understands and will carry out your orders as you have said them" the cultist I was talking to nodded before turning around and walking off.

I really can't express how annoying these idiots are, I mean they seriously can't do anything without my imput before hand. Of course I couldn't just say stuff like that out loud considering were I was at this very moment. I was currently standing in a large open area, an area that was one of the most guarded places within the fortress. The reason it was so well protected was not because of the crates of material and supplies that filled the room, no, the reason why it was so well guarded was because of the rip in space behind me.

(The Cult Of The Bloodied Wings may be annoying most of the time but being able to create massive transportation portal to a select destination is rather incredible if I do say so myself) I hummed to myself as I admired the hundreds of glowing patterns that covered the floor underneath the rift in space.

I wasn't able to admire the portal that looked as if it was a shattered area of reality for very long however. This was mostly because of the sounds of violent explosions and frantic fighting mixed with the inhuman screams that could be heard growing ever closer as time past by.

(I have to hand it to the little bird, I was not expecting her to release a damn zombie plague on us like this) I couldn't help the small chuckle that escape my lips

(But hey, I am getting a lot of useful skills from all of this so I should thank her the next time we meet) I thought as I listened to the constant notifications that sounded in my head.

Note, the user has no control over the mutation that they are given, however, all said mutations can be removed after a set period of time has passed)]

[Congratulations. The skill Clone Division has been acquired. (The user can create an exact copy of themselves, this copy can then do the same thing. Note, the user can create a copy once every twenty minutes, however, if the original dies all copies that have been created will die as well)]

[Congratulations. 3.2% physical attributes absorbed]

(So many new toys to play with, I really am very thankful towards that little bird and all of her friends) I thought with a dark chuckle.

"This one does not appreciate being chased by the unknown beings that are you and would very much appreciate being left alone" a sudden voice sounded from not far away drawing my attention to it in an instant.

"For ones in this one's life this one actually agrees with you even if saying that statement greatly irritates and annoys this one to seemingly no end" another voice sounded as two cultist ran through the entrance to the room with five of those monstrous things chasing behind them.

(Those things are just disgusting to look at) with that thought and a wave of my hand a wave of crimson energy smashed against the enemy ripping them to pieces.

"This one wishes to take this moment to thank you for your gracious and merciful help great Bishop"

"This one believes that you should be quiet because this one thinks that the great bishop has more important things to do then listen to your unpleasant voice"

"Just get in the portal" I quickly said before they could continue, the cultist had actually gotten it right, I didn't want to listen to them and their bickering, I really wasn't in the mood at the moment.

(I really hate these idiots) I sigh quietly as the two thankfully said no more and walked away towards the portal.

"Huh?" Before I could continue complaining I felt a sudden shift in the air, the strange change was followed by something I definitely wasn't expecting to hear to day.

[WARNING! The gate of Sorrow is beginning to open]

[WARNING! A Fragment Of Corruption has been unleashed! This message has been sent to every living creature with in one hundred kilometres of the Fragment Of Corruption. Your only hope for survival is to run as far as you possibly can and pray that it does not find you]

(Wha-AAAAAAH!)

I have no idea what exactly was going on but I suddenly felt as if my head was being crushed between a vice grip but that wasn't the worst of it, the worst thing was the feelings and emotions that poured into my head. It took me a second to realise just what was going on, I didn't know how, I didn't know why but what I did know was that this had something to do with that little annoying bird.

I thought about going to check and see what was going on up top but when the air and walls of the room began to warp and change, as if reality it's self was breaking apart into peaces, I quickly decided against that course of action. However, I did find some delight in knowing that what I was currently feeling was probably nothing even close to the torment and suffering that bastard was currently going through right now.

"Yeah...I don't think she needs my help in killing him..." I said as I slowly backed up through the portal, not before creating and sending out a small white ball of energy from my hand however.

As I step through to the other side of the portal I saw a blinding white light come from the ball of energy before hearing a massive boom. I then watched as the portal began to close, it looked almost like space itself was rapidly trying to repaired and remove the open wound that was the portal.

"Guess I should go report to the boss...god...I need a drink"

============Suu pov============

{Alright, I can give you back the memories that were removed but it will take some time for me to do it} seeing my dissatisfied look Joy quickly continued.

{Before you complain let me say that it's a difficult process and I don't want to accidentally damage your mind by rushing it}

"Fine bu-AAAAAH" I tried to say something but a sudden sharp pain that spread through out my whole body made me stop.

{Seems we are out of time} Joy said while letting out a long sigh.

"W-what is ha-happening?" I groaned through gritted teeth.

{Your body still is not able to use Sorrows power at this level, if this keeps up you will lose yourself completely} she explained causing me to curse in annoyance.

(Of course something like this would happen)

{Use me}

"Wh-what?" I paused as I look at her with a weird expression.

{If you want to get out of this with your sanity intact use my power} she clarified.

"On-one last question"

{What?} She ask with a tilt of her head

"Ho-how do you count as a Fragment Of Corruption? I mean Joy doesn't sound like something that can drive you insane" this was something that had genuinely confused me.

{Sigh...imagine if you only feel happiness even if you are in pain, imagine if you felt such happiness and excitement even when you were doing something like killing another living creature} that was enough for me to understand her point.

{Now stop with the questions and use me already} I was about to comment on how weird that sounded but another wave of pain made me stop.

"....Judgement"

=============3rd pov============

Back in the real world the Sixth was currently kneeling on one knee looking up at the empty and terrifying eye sockets of Suu who was only a few inches away from his face at this point. He was shaking slightly in fear, he didn't know how long he had been there, he couldn't remember anymore. The sick, twisted joke was that all Sorrow had done was just walk towards him while releasing her aura, that's literally it, she hadn't actually attacked or harmed him in anyway at all and yet he had been reduced to such a state, what's worse is that in reality it had actually only been a few minutes at most since Suu actually transformed. Unfortunately for the Sixth though it had felt as if it had been hundreds of years since it happened, mostly because Sorrow's aura seemed to be messing with the flow of reality and the Sixth's perception of time.

[Pathetic...] Sorrow said in her empty, uncaring voice. This was the first time she had spoken since taking over Suu's body and even though it was only one word it seemed to get across her immense dissatisfaction and boredom at the current situation.

Suddenly what looked to be cracks appeared around her eyes, at first she didn't notice but when the cracks began to spread and appear on other parts of her body she instantly noticed. The cracks were odd though, they glowed a mixture of white and gold completely messing up the ominous and dark appearance that she currently had going on.

For a moment Sorrow didn't say anything and just looked at the cracks spreading across her body, well, Suu's body. After a small period of time that seemed to stretch on forever for the very unfortunate Sixth she finally let out a small grumble of disappointment.

[It seems that time is up already...how dull]
