Terror Infinity: Monster

"Want to know the meaning of life? Want to live… a real life?" It all started with this unassuming message. Most people would ignore it, clicking ‘No’ by instinct more than careful consideration. But for those unfortunate enough to click on ‘Yes’, a whole new world unfolds before them. Several, if they are talented. All so they may experience… Terror Infinity.

Jordan, Claire and the three scared newbies ran along as we moved through the forest.

Neither Jordan nor Claire said anything about the three newbies, though I could not tell whether it was because they understood the gist of what would happen and had grown not to care, or if they simply had no idea.

As for the newbies, I think it was Hector's presence that made them scared. Out of all the newbies, Hector had been the one to stand out as the one I liked the least, with his intervention back when I was speaking with Stan.

It had only been a reminder when I threw him against the wall, but that was still worse than any other newbie. Well, maybe with the exception of the red haired girl Helena, but she had proven her worth already.

But while I chose Hector because he spoke up with Edgar, I had chosen John and Maria purely out of physical reasons. John was a pudgy middle aged man, and Maria was overweight.

Had Hector not spoken up, I would have chosen Charles, the old man who's supposedly an expert of civilizations.

Anyway, the three newbies made us quite a lot slower, so much so that I started worrying The Boys would reach Mindstorm's cabin before us.

Thankfully, we managed to reach Mindstorm's cabin first, although The Boys were only five hundred meters from the cabin themselves.

So as we arrived in front of the cabin, in which I knew Mindstorm was waiting for us, I said to the rest of the group, "Close your eyes."

Jordan and Claire immediately complied, and the three newbies were convinced with a look. Once they all had their eyes closed, I extended my hand towards the cabin, used the Force to uproot the house.

The house holding out together thanks to the Force only, only the floor, the furniture and Mindstorm were left on the ground. Mindstorm looked shocked, but I yanked him over with my other hand.

As he flew at us, I felt Mindstorm try to attack my mind, but I was too far for a real eye contact, so I easily diffused the mind attack.

Then, as he arrived in front of me, I let go of him, making him sprawl on the ground as he looked at me with wide eyes. I quickly looked away from his face however, not really keen on experimenting with his powers in the current situation, and said, "We're trying to save you, so stop with the mental attacks."

That did not convince him however, and instead seemed to make him believe he was getting some kind of hold over me as he intensified his attack.

Grunting, I crouched and slapped him across the face, hard enough to make him dizzy and stop the attack as I added, "Soldier Boy has escaped Russia, and is here to kill you along with some friends. So you either cooperate, or we leave you here to face his wrath."

Despite his daze, Mindstorm seemed to have heard my words as he shook, and finally spoke, "Y-You can't stop Soldier Boy."

Shaking my head, I asked, "Didn't you see what I did to your house? Besides, would you really rather stay here to die? Now stop wasting our time, and come with us."

Mindstorm hesitated, but then his body tensed up as he muttered, "He's here."

Having felt them myself, I turned to look across the clearing, past the remains of the cabin, and saw a group of people standing there.

"You can open your eyes," I said to my teammates.

Spearheading the group was the one and only, Soldier Boy. He was dressed in his usual costume, as he held his shield with one hand. Flanking him on both sides were Hughie and Butcher, the two humans on Temporary V. One looked nervous, while the other had a nasty smile. He was probably happy he was going to kill Supers.

But what really interested me, was the group behind them.

With a single look I determined them to be Team Northern Africa, as they were nearly all Arabic.

They were fairly easily discernible, as they had special clothes, except for one of them, who was dressed in normal civilian clothes.

I also immediately assumed one of their worlds had been The Witcher, as one, whom I assumed to be their leader, looked like a Witcher.

He had two swords in his back, was dressed in Witcher Armor, although it differed a little from the Wolf School, which Geralt was part of. It was less bulky, and allowed for a much greater agility. He also had cat eyes, although he had raven dark hair. But not every Witcher had white hair.

I was the living proof that one didn't need to have experienced a world to buy its powers, but everything about the guy was from The Witcher, what I could see at least.

The second person I suspected might be their leader was the tallest member of the team. He had a lean build, but he felt powerful. He also had a dagger, which felt evil. Both of them felt strong, and could be the leader. I suspected them both to have opened the Genetic Constraint.

The third member of interest within the team was one that I was pretty sure hadn't broken their Genetic Constraint, but they still interested me as they were the psychic of the team. He didn't look like much, although he dressed in a long coat, much like Butcher.

The fourth would be the only female member of the opposite team, whom I believed to be the third one to have broken the Genetic Constraint. I wasn't getting much from her appearance, apart from the fact that she had a Katana at her side.

Despite having opened the Genetic Constraint, she felt quite weak. Comparing her to Claire, who was the most similar within my own team, Claire felt a little bit stronger than this girl did, although the Genetic Constraint did give quite the advantage.

The final three were the least impressive of the group, as they felt the weakest and didn't have anything that revealed their powers. One of the three did feel a little strange however, and thanks to the living comparison next to him, I quickly understood that this guy, the one who was dressed in civilian clothes, had received a power-up from Temporary V.

God knows how much I love the Force, to be able to learn so much from his mere presence. Although I do wonder what is the power he got from Temporary V. Did the team use it on all their newbies to test out the powers they got, or on this one only?

I doubt the Boys have much Temporary V to spare though, so maybe second option.

Well, in any case, if there was one last thing I could tell about Team Northern Africa, it was that they weren't the smartest Team around.

Soldier Boy immediately took his gun out and fired at us, but the bullets were easily stopped, even as most of my attention remained on the large cabin still in the sky.

Then, with a wave of my hand, I sent the flying house straight onto the enemy team, who suddenly found themselves with literal tons falling towards them.

As they tried to scurry away, I intended on using the Force to keep some of them in place, as except for The Boys I was pretty sure the others would die of the impact, but before I could act I suddenly found two people coming at me.

One was naked, and had teleported at my side, launching a punch at me. This was naturally Hughie, one of The Boys, who had the power of teleportation while under Temporary V, along with enhanced strength.

As for the other, it was the member of Team Northern Africa with Temporary V. He wasn't a teleporter however, but a speedster. One fast enough to reach me at the same time as Hughie. He was holding a dagger, and looked ready to stab me with it. He also sported a shit eating grin.

They both attacked from different sides, in what looked like to be a well trained attack. It wasn't enough, however.

Completely letting go of the house, it started losing its integrity, which would lessen the impact, but I had bigger fish in front of me.

The two were fast, especially the speedster. But Shuten Doji's mask made my Reaction Speed so much stronger I managed to see them coming. And that was enough.

I wish they had been attacking from the same side though, as while I was fast enough to counterattack, both of them still remained much faster than me, especially without Force Valor activated, so I would only be able to kill one of them.

Since hesitation would only slow down my blade, I just went with my gut instinct and drew out Shiroishi.
