Chapter Three: VR Capsule

With nothing else to do, Alex decided to head out to the nearest game shop. From the phone's map, he was able to locate one, which was a few turns just across the street.

Due to Alex's position as the Top ranker in the DFG VR Game, many had become aware of this fighting game and it was the most played virtual reality game in the country.

Alex's status as an infamous singer had bring about the popularity of the Dungeon Fighter Game, earning them millions of players across the country of Gazzan.

In fact, Alex would have become the major shareholder of the game company, but he refused their offer, saying he wasn't interested. The position of directorship that was given to him by TimTom would have suffered the same rejection, however he had to take it because the former director had no heir or family member to pass the position to. He only considered it as a wish of a dying old man.

Finally, he has gotten to his destination which took only five minutes from his apartment. Currently, he was standing before a huge glass building where numerous Vr capsules could be seen from the outside. It was such a mesmerising sight, encouraging one to try and enter one of the capsules.

However, to enter one of these capsules, a fixed amount of money will need to be paid. Although it depends on how long the players intends on spending in the game.

As he approached the entrance of the building, suddenly, a tall and hefty man obscured his path staring deadly at him.

"What do you want?" The man asked in a gruff tone.

Taking a careful look at the man, he noticed that he was in an army uniform and around his arm was a machine gun which Alex had no idea what it was called. The only name he recognised are AK47 guns, Snipers, and Shotguns, which are the most popular mentioned guns in movies and dramas. Heck, he also knew about RPG's and grenades, credit goes to the video games and vrmmorpg he plays.

He cleared his throat, an habit when he hasn't talked to anyone for a long time.

"Mister, I'm here to play."

"New player?" The man asked which he nodded to.

He moved to the side, gesturing for Alex to go in. Upon entering the game shop, a pretty lady appeared in front of him ready to escort him to where he would register and pay for the capsules.

"Alright mister, how can I help you?" The cashier at the table said to Alex while the escort lady stood behind him, waiting till he's done with his order.

"I would like to rent a capsule, thirty minutes." He replied while clicking on something on his mobile phone. He was trying to see if he had enough funds to last an hour.

"That will be a total of hundred dollars, sir."

Alex's eyes widened as he heard the price from the cashier's mouth.

"What?" He exclaimed, while glancing back to his phone to see that he had only $60 left in his account. It wasn't enough to rent a capsule. Gone were the days when renting a capsule was just Five Dollars.

Honestly, he couldn't be more surprised by this fact, a lot of time had passed, with him being around twenty years old back then. It was at that time that Vr capsules were just being discovered, with only a few people playing the game. Ever since he made an advertisement as the top player in the game, the Vr game had become more popular in the country within the last six years.

It wouldn't be surprising if the price had gone more higher than before. But right now, Alex couldn't think that way. He was no longer the multi-millionaire Alex Stale, where he could just have the whole capsule shipped to his apartment. He was in an ordinary person's body, an ordinary Alex having only 60 dollars left in his total savings.

"I'll play for Fifteen minutes then."

Even though he'll be left with only ten dollars after this, he had no regret since he could earn twice the amount he paid once he wins.

"That will be 50 Dollars."

After paying for the capsule, the escort lady led him to a dark room having multiple capsules with multiple players playing them. The capsule has an appearance of a chair, a newly made type which gives comfort and relaxation to the user while inside the game. It can't be compared to the previous models where players had to use only headsets while playing.

Alex got inside his capsule with a transparent glass lid shielding him from being disturbed by the outside world.

As soon as the glass lid closed, he put on the Vr headset and instantly, his mind was transported to a different realm.

His consciousness was immediately transferred into the Virtual Reality World. A world having almost the same appearance as the current world. Just like on earth, you could also move freely about in this world.

As soon as he appeared in the virtual world, he found himself in a plain white room and at that moment, a game notification tab, similar to the system tab, hovered above his face. Since he was familiar with the Vr world, he wasn't surprised by this. So he carefully read what was displayed to him.

Alex thought long and hard before deciding on a name. He wasn't the most brilliant when it comes to naming things. Even his entertainment company were given random names like Alley and Mimi.

After thinking for a while, he eventually came up with something. He discovered that 'Alex' had a nickname HYDRO, a name the former got from the orphanage, before he decided to name himself Alex.

If he hadn't changed his name from Hydro to Alex, he would have been called Hydro Gene, instead of Alex Gene. And maybe whatever transmigrated him into this body might not have been able to transmigrate him.

'Who knows, maybe it's because we're having the same name and he's the last Alex I made contact with.'

That was the only conclusion he could make. The system stated that the boy was a compatible user, however, they are of different age, they are not of the same month or date. The only similar thing between them is their name ALEX and the fact that they were both orphans.

Now that he thought of it, he eventually came up with a name.

"Hydro Gene… Hydrogen!" He exclaimed, inputting the words into the system.

"I don't know if it's the genius me that came up with this or it's the mind of this boy that is working wonders."

The game tab chimed, signalling the successful inputting of the username.

Only one Avatar can be selected from the list of the fifteen mentioned Avatars. Once picked, it can never be changed, till the person dies.

As for the random game button, rare and new types of Avatars will be revealed. However, just like the above fifteen avatars, you can only click on random once and whatever avatar gets revealed will become your avatar to the end.

It was a risky attempt which could lead you to having a weak and useless avatar. That's why many players don't click on the button. Those who did, ended up having weak and low levelled avatars; causing them to quit the VR game totally. So far, no one was lucky enough to unlock a strong avatar, which led them to believe that only weak avatars exists in the random button.

While Alex was thinking of choosing his next avatar— he was opting to choose his former avatar; a vampire, which had became a trend because of his winnings and popularity. If anything, he knew how to use that avatar best. He knew a lot of skills and abilities that are not known to many users. And he's 100 percent sure he would get back to the ranking within a few weeks or months maybe.

However, the system prompt message had suddenly popped up in front of him.
