Frick, Frick Fr... wait actually

Jason tried to sleep, he tried to. Hah, you try and sleep to the sound of zombies dying. Jason eventually gave up and sat up in an exhausted manner. It was still dark, and the zombie hoard looked like it wasn't ever going to end.

Thankfully even if the zombies had more numbers, the despawning of the zombies were impaled was fast enough that it didn't matter. Jason turned his body so that he could watch the zombies on his stomach laying down.

At this point, he had a space of 30 feet between him and zombies. Jason's little semicircle was basically an island in the sea of zombies, it was just that well that island had rocket launchers or something and the sea of zombies couldn't even get close.

Jason thought to himself as he watched the zombies

"man, why didn't people in zombie monsters do this?"

Boops answered Jason while yawning

'its the despawning dude, honestly I'm still confused about the rules in this mini world the intelligence trial has, but I guess that's one of them that you can exploit'

Jason accepted Boops's answer and asked him about his absence

"Ah Boops, where were you?"

Boops responded crossly

'I was organizing and researching the golem books, and holy crap I still can't find anything about how to make a golem core'

Both Jason and Boops sighed.

If they couldn't figure out how to make a golem core then, their dreams of having a golem army would be shattered. Of course, they could resort to grinding leader class monsters and above for monster cores. But it would take way to much time unless they had a monster grinder like....

Jason got figuratively smacked in the head with an idea

"Boops can zombies evolve?"

Boops thought about it for a moment, and when Jason's idea came to him he seriously and gleefully said

'ill look into it'

Jason then got even more confused

"wait do these zombies drop and loot?"

'heh that would be crazy if they did, you know how much money you would get from that?'

"well, why not check?"

Jason said that and picked himself up. The moment he picked himself up another cold and gusty wind hit him. Again saying a creepy "woooooooo". Jason tried his best to ignore it and walk off to the trench that the zombies were falling into and getting impaled in. Jason looked at one of the spikes that had zombies falling onto it.

Underneath it at the ground should be where the loot would drop if there was any.

[level up]

"oh nice"

That was sadly only the second level up he got from farming but it was pretty good in his opinion. Jason looked even harder at the ground and he saw it. It shone under the moonlight. It had a black cover and a skull on the front cover.

Yup, that's right it was a book and if Jason and Boop's videogame knowledge was right it was a skill book.

Perhaps the skill book wasn't worth much, (it was at this point in the game) but the fact that a skill book was found meant that loot was dropped by the zombies. and that well, it meant that Jason was going to get rich.

Jason couldn't hold in his mirth and joined Boops who was already cackling in glee.

Jason and Boops had been a bit worried about how they only had a level advantage compared to the other players that would have numbers and money. Hehe, now they had the money.

Jason turned to look at the other spikes. He could see more skill books, a few weapons like axes, swords, daggers, and even a scythe and most importantly the moonlight reflected off of the many coins on the ground.

Jason couldn't stop the grin and laughed that came out of his mouth. All that he now needed to do was wait and his EXP and loot pile would just get bigger. Wait actually, the pile of coins was pretty large.

Oh no. Frick, frick that meant that it might get big enough that the zombies could walk over the spikes and maybe the actual trench.

Wow, Jason might actually die because he got to much loot. That was a first. Jason slapped his cheeks to make himself forces. He was going to survive this and make it out with the loot and EXP and most importantly he was NOT going to lose the EXP he just got. Nope, never, nada.

Jason fumbled through his inventory looking for anything to salvage this situation. He had two metal spikes and a crap ton of rope, some survival stuff, food, water as a sleeping bag and a shovel.

Wait, he had a shovel.

Boops swore he saw the lightbulb appear on top of Jason's head for a second.

Jason grabbed the shovel and the two metal spikes. He put the shovel on top of one of the metal spikes and used the many ropes that he got to tie them together. He then tied the other metal spike to the other one and walla Jason had in his hands a loot scooper uper.

Jason had no time to waste and with his makeshift shovel, he ran to one of the spikes and got on his stomach to reach the loot without interfering with the spikes business.

He pushed his shovel thingy in a straight line to where to loot was slowly piling up. Jason did notice that zombie blood got all over the tool. Whatever he could still pull out the pile of loot. In Jason's awkward position it was much more difficult to pull out the loot. He needed to lay down and drag the loot to him with the shovel.

It was hard, but did Jason notice? heck no it was like shoveling up free money and whatever you could shovel up was yours. Any fatigue that Jason's muscles accumulated were wiped away by Jason's greed. A pile of coins and loot emerged on the grass in the semi-circle.

Jason didn't have time to admire that though, he had more loot to collect and he went to the next spike and started to scoop up more loot.

While Jason was doing this he couldn't stop smiling, anyone would he just basically got a bunch of money thrown into his face. Jason had already gotten 3 skill books from the zombie's loot and he was only on the second spike. Jason's grin only got wider as he thought about it.

The skills books all had black covers on it and skulls on it so, Jason already kinda figured out what they were probably about. Wait Perseus was going to do an underground underworld thing right? wouldn't these be really useful for him and his guild?

Jason mentally put on his list to give some to Perseus if they were any good and continued to shovel out loot with a smile on his face.

It took a few hours to take out the large piles of loot. But it was worth it. Jason looked back at the piles of loot that he had just gotten. He had definitely seen more than 30 skill books and 50 weapons of all sorts. As for the coins. It was mostly bronze coins with the occasionally silver and maybe gold coin mixed in. But hey money was money.

A cold gust went over Jason as he looked over the piles of loot in a satisfied fashion. But then the cold wind spoke it's signature "wooooo" that Jason heard a few dozen times. Jason ignored it and started to put in the loot into his inventory.

What Jason didn't notice was that the wind didn't stop saying the creepy "wooooo" this time instead the wind seemed to circle around Jason and then float behind Jason. The "wind" started to morphe into a grotesque white figure. The figure was hazy and parts of it would suddenly shift into view and then out. It wasn't humanoid but like a hazy figure of a head and arms emerged with white things floating out of it. It was the thing that kids got scared by, something that humans in Jason's old-world joked about by dressing up as by draping a white sheet over them.

Boops came in at the nick of time

'Hey, Jason I think I figured out the golem core thing... OH HOLY CRAP WHAT'S THAT THING BEHIND YOU, JASON RUN!!!!'

Jason turned around and his mood turned 180 degrees, he tried his best to not scream like a little girl. The ghost was fricking scary and Jason turned tail and ran.

"NOT TODAY"

He screamed as he ran a good 20 feet before realizing that he couldn't go anywhere except into the zombie horde.

The ghost floated up to him with only its upper torso head and arms visible, anything underneath its waist was a white misty fog. It let out a threatening roar and floated toward the scared Jason.

yeah frick, ghosts. they scary.
