Third Person PoV

"This place meets all the requirements, right senpai?"

"Indeed, Himeragi."

Senpai and kouhai were standing behind a rack full of rusted iron boxes. While Kojou was completely relaxed, Yukina was tense.

That may be due to Kojou being absolutely immortal, while the observer was not sure of the current mission.

She was deciding between what to do, to watch her target or try to solve what could be quite possibly, an act of international terrorism.

Not to mention that this was above her level, it was something that would require two or three attack mages.

But then again she was along with the 4th Primogenitor, but he was also her observation target.

'Arrgh!' The sword shaman mentally screamed and then decided on her act.

"Senpai, please stay behind. I will handle this!"

But it seems that Kojou was completely unfazed by her request or order, whatever it was.

"No, and it is quite obvious that you would end up dead. Having a kouhai dead after meeting them for a few days is not something I would like."

Although she didn't know herself, a small smile formed on Yukina's mouth after hearing that.

"Fine, after all my primary duty is to observe you, but please stay behind me!"

Kojou just sighed hearing that and then the two began to move ahead. Both towards the same target with different objectives in mind.

They reached a gate closed with a rusted chain locked by a lock. Kojou looked at that for a moment and before Yukina could do something, he kicked the door.

With a loud bang, the door caved in making space for two people to go inside easily.

"Senpai, that would have alerted them!"

"They would be expecting us anyways, if they know about your affiliation with the LKO. Terrorists and attack mages don't get along do they?"

Kojou said with a bit of sarcasm in the

end. Even though she wanted to disagree she couldn't as what Kojou said was factually correct.

The two again moved forward and the gate led into a dark corridor with green light coming out from its end.

Reaching at the end the two came in front of human sized tubes, numbering into dozens.

The tubes were filled with glowing green fluid, the source of the light and contained homunculi, which were not mature.

Kojou raised a eye while Yukina made a quick note that she needed to inform the LKO about so many homunculi present in Itogami island, without any supervision.

Just then the blue haired girl, Astarte, came forward. Her body was covered with a single hospital gown, with fluids flowing down her. Her hair is still wet and sticking up her body.

The cloth was near translucent and would have become transparent if she remained wet for some more minutes.

Yukina tried to shield Kojou's eyes using her hand, but was unsuccessful.

"Tch!" The sword shaman made a noise, grumbling over something only known to her.

"Warning. Leave the island. The island will sink, please make your escape quickly."

Kojou asked just for his own amusement

"What do you mean the island will sink?"

His tone was smug, but the homunculi are not made to understand human speech that way.

"This is an island of transient earth floating over an intersection of dragon veins in the southern sea. Once the cornerstone is lost, it can only collapse."

Before the two could say something a voice familiar to all here rang

"Correct. And our wish is to find the treasure used as the cornerstone! And I have just obtained the power to achieve my wish! Thanks to you, Sword shaman!"

Rudolf was looking plenty scary in the dim atmosphere, with his massive battle axe standing almost as tall as him.

Before he could continue his talk, Kojou said lazily as if he could almost predict what Rudolf did.

"You implanted an unmatched familiar into the homunculus girl, didn't you?"

"I certainly did." Although the reply was fast, the confusion in the deacon's voice was quite palpable.

"She's going to die, isn't she? Homunculi don't have that infinite negative life-force to use familiars for long."

"Only vampires can control a familiar, but I have succeeded in implanting a familiar into a homunculus!"

The zealous tone was once again coming from the western exorcist.

"She will survive at best only two weeks from now!"

"So that's why you were hunting demons, to extend her lifespan."

Kojou said as if making a deduction. And finally Yukina spoke

"You talk almost as if she is just a tool!"

The anger was quite understandable in Yukina's tone.

"Oh are you not a tool as well, for the LKO? They buy up unwanted children, raise them to fight demons. What have you sacrificed to be so powerful at your age?"

Yukina was now confused, as strong as she maybe, she is still a middle schooler, she can't understand some things that adults can.

"Alright that's enough discouragement for one session old man."

Kojou spoke to divert the subject and to allow Yukina to regain her focus.

"Astarte, grant them mercy!"

"Accept!"

The girl was now covered in a white beast. With rainbow coloured spots and a green core at its chest.

It seems that last time she only showed the arms of her familiar, but now that she was at her peak, the familiar of her is quite daunting.

Kojou was deliberating whether to end this now or to delay it. He wanted to see if anyone would interfere, if the island was to sink.

But his opponent wasn't calm like him, the giant homunculus rushed at him, and Yukina also raised her spear to meet the huge arm that came her way.

The clash of the arm and spear made a pleasant noise, shocking Yukina.

"Resonance! But how-?"

The answer was once again provided by the deacon.

"Ah! the divine vibrations, secret technique of the LKO, I was able to perfect it using the data I got from our previous encounter. Haha!"

Kojou's interest peaked with that.

'A technique that uses vibrations to nullify and cut all types of barriers and magic, only known by the LKO, and implemented successfully against their fight with demons. And he says he perfected it with one look? He may be better than he seems.'

But Yukina's focus was lost for a moment and the other hand punched her, throwing her on the ground with her spear beside her.

The deacon jumped at her intending to deliver the final attack.

"Pitiful girl, be glad you will die by the hands of a human!"

"Oh? Who decided that?"

The huge battle axe was stopped within inches from her cute observer's face.

Kojou was standing beside her, with his hand holding the battle axe's blade without bleeding.

All that force behind the attack seems to have vanished just as Kojou made contact with the battle axe.

The deacon was also unable to pull his weapon out of Kojou's grasp.

"So why don't we stop here, you guys can't win against me and I don't really wanna fight. Go do what you want."

And saying so his gently pushed the battle axe, lifting the deacon into air and making his homunculus catch him.

"Let's go Astarte, we shall reclaim the ancient relic!" The exorcist said with a snort.

"Accept."

The blue haired homunculus said before looking at Kojou and then following its master.

Yukina, now regaining her bearings, asked Kojou, seemingly perturbed at his 'betrayal'.

"Senpai, why did you let them go? They're going to make the island sink!"

"Himeragi do you really think that the island will sink that easily?"

Yukina now even more confused tilted her head and asked

"If they remove the cornerstone then what will keep the island up?"

Kojou sighed and began explaining

"Listen, the cornerstone is a religious relic, the Right Arm of the Saint, which originally was from Lotharingia. So the island management is in the wrong, not the exorcist, their way of taking it is wrong but you can't also justify the past actions of the island management."

"But still if he just asked the island management they would have returned it no?"

"Yes they may have or they may not, the current technology is good enough to make a cornerstone but it won't be easy or cheap. The island management would rather imprison the two and be done with it, but if they steal it, then they must replace it."

Kojou explained his reasoning.

"But what about the destruction of life and property, that will happen between the time of replacement?"

"The island won't sink, only floods will happen from which people can be saved. Also let me tell you why I am not keen on fighting a guy like him."

"Please do!" Yukina was now serious, with her Schneewalzer once again standing upright beside her.

"First, the one in the wrong is the island management, not the exorcist, so there goes my moral high ground.

Second, that guy watched your divine vibrations once and managed to perfect it, this shows how good of a fighter and inventor he is.

Thirdly, you are too weak to fight either of them, even if you manage to defeat one, the other will certainly win against you.

Fourth, Even if we don't stop them, there is a high chance that they will be caught. I am sure a certain witch can quite easily defeat them.

Fifth and lastly, I don't have an incentive to fight. The amount of effort it will require to overcome the divine vibrations barrier is too much for me to do it without any profit for myself, not to mention this is what Asagi also asked of me."

Four out of the five points raised by kojou were very logical, hence Yukina was unable to give any proper response but she still tried to talk him into stopping the two wannabe terrorists.

"You are afraid of the divine vibrations right, senpai! Then I can handle the homunculus and you can fight the deacon."

"Really? Me being scared of divine vibrations is quite similar to a professional prostitute being scared of a 5 inch vibrating dildo. I can and will destroy it if I need to, but as I said it is too much of a hassle to do without any benefit."

Just then a tremor passed through the ground, and it reached all of the island. After the trembling stopped, Yukina's eye became determined, as if having reached an important decision.

"Senpai, You want an incentive right? Then please drink my blood! I am a spiritual medium you will gain strength right?"

And saying her short speech she untied the blue knot of her uniform, making one side of her shirt move down and showing her shoulder, along with her collar bone, also known as the beauty bone.

'Well this wasn't on the plan at all! I wanted to gain the control of the familiar inside the homunculus, by biting her I could allow her to live but in exchange I would get an extra familiar and a loyal homunculus, but this is even better!

What an unexpected reward, never thought that the girl had it in her, well who am i to decline such a delicious treat offered to me?'

A little while ago, Asagi was sitting in her room doing her part time job for the island management, when she felt the same tremor felt by Kojou and Yukina.

"Mogwai, what was that?"

She had an idea but still wanted to double check.

"Well, this is troublesome. Someone had broken into the B-007 level of the island, the tremor was due to one of the support columns getting smashed. The number of intruders is only two."

"Well see of you can get a hold of Kojou, using one of the cameras in the level 2, Sector B, they should be somewhere inside Scheldt Pharmaceuticals."

"Sure, ojou-sama! Though I am not sure you would like what is going on with him or rather what he is doing."

Hearing her mascot AI say something like that she looked at the monitor, to find Kojou busy sucking his observer and making her reach into pleasure heaven.

"What the hell is Kojou doing?"

Well he for sure is getting toasted when he comes back home.
