Unaware of the impending danger, Ethan stumbled upon a highly absurd situation.
He received a summons, specifically, a court summons.
"What the..."
Ethan stared at the contents of the summons, completely stunned.
It stated that he was being sued for illegal organization armed forces, illegal possession of large-scale weapons of mass destruction, and tax evasion. He was instructed to plead guilty and face legal judgment.
"Who is the plaintiff?"
Ethan looked confusedly at Natasha, who had handed him the summons. He figured she might know some of the truth.
"The IRS, in conjunction with the military and the local NYPD."
Natasha, also perplexed, replied.
This official maneuver had even managed to flummox her, a top agent.
Handing a court summons to the head of the Foundation? It seemed absurd.
Ethan asked out of curiosity, "Did the person who delivered the summons leave?"
He wanted to meet this "strategist" and see who dared to be so audacious.
"They're waiting outside the villa."
"In that case, bring them in. I'd like to see what kind of game these people are playing," Ethan said, intrigued.
Soon, a bald man with glasses was brought in by Natasha.
Seeing the familiar face, Ethan's mouth twitched slightly.
The man was none other than the villain from Captain America: The Winter Soldier, a sort of clownish character from the Hydra organization, hiding within S.H.I.E.L.D. and the American government.
Nade, bowing slightly, greeted Ethan with exaggerated politeness, "Greetings, esteemed head of the Foundation! Allow me to express our condolences on behalf of the United States. You are truly the heroes of humanity!"
Ethan looked at Nade with a bemused expression.
"So, to show your respect, you've sued me?"
Nade looked awkwardly, then promptly shifted the blame to the military.
"This was initiated by the military. I'm just the messenger."
"So, what's your stance on this?"
Ethan, reclining casually, inquired.
Nade replied, "The U.S. government is very willing to cooperate with the Foundation for the future of humanity. If the head is willing to cooperate, we will provide unconditional funding, solve the Foundation's material needs, and facilitate operations on our soil."
Ethan didn't relax his guard just because of the offered benefits. After all, capital often seeks to consume, especially in capitalist societies.
"A price?"
Ethan asked flatly.
Nade revealed his purpose, "The position of the head remains unchanged, but we need to send people to supervise to ensure that the funds are used for human protection, and to oversee a few management positions."
This was blatant infiltration! No, it was blatant seduction.
"That's unacceptable! If I cooperate with your country, what about the other major powers? Should I agree to their cooperation and their supervision too?"
Expecting rejection, Nade quickly extended an invitation, "Head, you can go to the White House to meet our President. Believe me, the Foundation needs the U.S., and the U.S. needs the Foundation."
Ethan, intrigued by the White House and the need to solve the Foundation's future funding issues, agreed to the meeting.
Nade, sensing Ethan's interest, secretly rejoiced and said, "The plane is ready. We are very sincere."
With such earnestness shown, Ethan agreed and did not refuse the request to meet the President.
"Why a helicopter?"
Ethan frowned at the helicopter.
He expected a transport plane converted into a private jet for someone of his standing.
Nade explained, "It's closer to the White House, and a large aircraft isn't necessary. The helicopter is more convenient."
"Let's go!"
Ethan, discontented but not dwelling on it, boarded the helicopter.
As the helicopter took off, Ethan admired the night view from above.
"It's really lively down there!"
Nade, observing the scene below, struck up a conversation.
"Yes! They're even calling for help in rhythm."
Ethan nodded in agreement.
Wait a minute!
Help calls?
Nade's smile vanished instantly.
"Boom!"
The wreckage of a car struck the helicopter's tail.
Nade, panicked, clutched the handrails and asked, "What's happening? Why is there an attack?"
Ethan remained calm. After discovering that the government knew his identity as the head of the Foundation, he had prepared for assassination attempts.
This attack was anticipated.
"This doesn't seem right!"
Ethan frowned, realizing that the situation was more complex than it appeared.
The wreckage that struck the helicopter's tail seemed to be from a car thrown by a creature below.
Ethan peered down and saw a large, foul-colored monster roaring and hurling objects indiscriminately.
It was Abomination! A major villain from the Hulk series, originally a special forces soldier injected with a weakened super soldier serum, transformed into this monstrous form due to his extreme jealousy of the Hulk's power.
Abomination's malevolence had been amplified to create this current monstrosity.
"What do we do? The helicopter is going down. Where are the parachutes?"
Natasha, angered, demanded answers from Nade.
She didn't believe this was an accident. As a top agent, she was well aware of the dirty tricks of the government. Assassinations were not uncommon.
"There aren't any parachutes on this helicopter," Nade said with a grim face.
In reality, there were parachutes, but only two. Nade chose to withhold this information.
He knew if he revealed it, the others would seize the parachutes immediately.
Ethan shrugged off Nade's words and, as the helicopter descended, jumped off with Natasha.
A mere height of ten meters was nothing to Ethan, who had enhanced physical abilities.
Nade, however, was stunned.
"Is this guy insane?"
Nade stared in disbelief as Ethan and Natasha safely landed.
Nade didn't expect Ethan to be a superhuman.
"The general… I have some very unfortunate news. Since we are only ten meters from the ground, even if we had parachutes, they wouldn't help."
The helicopter pilot, after making his grim announcement, also jumped.
At this height, with proper techniques, one could survive with injuries. But for Nade, a mere politician, the outcome was grim.
"Boom!"
The helicopter crashed into a building, and Nade perished in the ensuing fire.
This minor villain from Captain America: The Winter Soldier was thus eliminated.
On the rooftop, Natasha looked at Ethan in amazement.
His physical abilities seemed to surpass even Captain America's. No wonder he could handle her with ease.
Did the Foundation possess unknown genetic technologies, or was it just the head who was exceptional?
Natasha wondered but didn't probe further.
Looking at the chaos below, Natasha noticed the monster wreaking havoc was even more grotesque than the Hulk.
"That's not the Hulk! It's more hideous and fierce."
Ethan, recalling Natasha's relationship with Bruce Banner from the Avengers storyline, turned his gaze back to the battlefield.
Abomination was like a child throwing a tantrum, destroying everything around him as if they were toys.
A green figure then descended from the sky.
Ethan noticed the helicopter still circling above.
He felt a sense of unfairness. Why did his helicopter crash while theirs remained safe?
General Ross, aboard the helicopter, noticed Ethan on the rooftop.
"What's he doing here?"
Ross, aware of Ethan's identity, was unsettled.
A young Chinese man as the head of the Foundation was a hard pill to swallow, but it was the reality they had to accept.
Feeling the gaze on him, Ethan waved at Ross.
He might be a future containment subject and a potential source of strength, so Ethan's attitude was favorable.
In the movie, General Ross wasn't connected to the She-Hulk, so Ethan was only interested in Ross himself.
With Natasha's company, Ethan found his resistance to beauty growing daily, and his standards had risen significantly.
The two titans clashed, shaking the world.
"Hulk! I'm the strongest now!"
Abomination, unaware of the true nature of his opponent, roared excitedly at the descending Hulk.
The newly transformed Hulk could barely speak, only responding with a thunderous roar.
"Roar!"
With a powerful roar, the Hulk charged at Abomination.
Both were fighting in the most primal, savage manner.
Punch for punch, their battle was intense.
However, it soon became evident to all observers that something was wrong.
As the fight dragged on, Hulk's rage grew, and so did his size.
The Hulk's unique ability to increase in size with his anger was not fully explored in the plot.
"Two monsters! But… why is the Foundation just watching? Aren't they supposed to contain SCPs?"
General Ross on the helicopter watched in suspicion as the Foundation seemed to be idly observing.
He hoped the Foundation would step in to contain these monsters to minimize damage and reduce his own punishment.
But the Foundation seemed content to watch from afar.
"I knew these amateur protection organizations were unreliable. Their claims of containment and protection are nonsense! They're just standing by and watching. Shameless!"
Ross cursed inwardly, frustrated at the increasing destruction and the impending repercussions.
"Are we really not going to intervene?" Natasha asked, watching the two giants rampage.
Wait!
Ethan, checking the SCP navigation map, shook his head.
He realized that Mr. 682 was getting closer.
He needed to use these powerful monsters to lure out an even more terrifying entity, so he refrained from intervening for now.
Perhaps some noticed that the disaster wasn't as catastrophic as expected.
Some fearless reporters and young people, defying danger, took refuge in perceived safe spots and filmed the chaos.
Among them, a young boy carrying a camera filmed the scene and sent it to social media, trying to make a name for himself.
The Hulk and Abomination continued to fight fiercely.
As the battle raged on, the Hulk gradually took the upper hand.
Although Abomination's size was a challenge, the Hulk's ability to grow stronger with each blow allowed him to counter Abomination's attacks effectively.
The clash between these two titans was a spectacle, but it was evident that the Hulk's strength and resilience were superior.
The foundation was just waiting for the right moment.
And that moment was drawing near.
With Ethan's intentions hidden, the battle for New York City became a prelude to an even greater catastrophe.
It was only the beginning of a terrifying convergence.
